This is truly an unique opportunity to stay in a living legend situation. The floating islands of the Uros people in Lake Titicaca are an incredibly special place. Getting to be there is like a gift from God. Staying with Dalia and Wilbur and their family was so choice. It was an adventure for my son (16) and myself to get to take a boat from the tiny port out to the family island. Dalia made us delicious, excellent meals, provided tea and hot water and taught us handicrafts. We bought some of her and Victoria’s (Dalia’s mother-in-law) textile art work for our home. Wilbur took us fishing on their traditional reed boat, complete with snarling puma head. They arranged for us to join a tour to Taquile Island and ferried us to the drop-off point as well as to town so we could go to church on Sunday. They were SO accommodating and kind. The island itself was lovely, and peaceful. It swayed almost imperceptibly when a motor boat passed… just enough to confirm that we were actually floating on an island of reeds.
You need to be practical about what to expect. The water and electricity situation is naturally quite different. The toilet is composting. The heat was from a propane heater that (being on an island and house of reeds) cannot stay on all the time. Check the weather for your travel dates and bring warm clothes. Dalia gave us hot water bottles and approximately 6-7 inches of warm blankets. I was very warm at night when the temperature was in the 30’s. You can purchase additional meals. There is a store boat that comes by the island in the morning. My son bought mangos and bread from them. This was all amazing to be a part of for just 4 days and 3 nights. I really recommend staying that long if you want to soak in this experience. At least stay one night with this kind, generous family!

remote location
so peaceful and relaxing
lovely host family who cooked for us and served us in the room !
they had gorgeous cats and kittens too 😻
Nothing about the property I did not like
but we had to pay for the stay in cash at the end and this would have been useful to know up front beforehand - in the description of the hotel would be good . also we had to pay cash to enter the Urso community by boat - again be useful to know this information beforehand .

Wilburt and Delia were amazing hosts, who were super friendly, sweet, caring and more than just hosts. For 3 days it felt like family.
Locationwise it is an amazing location for a romantic get away and time to spent together. The stary sky, the beautiful lakeview of titicaca lake are very special and make it a stay to remember.
Wilburt and Delia will endulge you in local cultural aspects of their life and will show you the Urus island way of living.
Absolut must recommendation. We loved our stay and would come back any time.
The bed is amazing, you will never sleep cosier than in this hotel.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this place.

Where to begin ?! We cannot fault or stay on the floating island with these wonderful people. Pure quiet bliss which we really needed. Wilbur and Deanne and family were fabulous hosts right from the pick up from the wee port…the wonderful hot water bottles for our bed at night…the freshly fished trout lunches (from their own trout ‘farm’)…all of the wonderful meals served in our room.
The sunset and sunrise views across the lake were amazing. Loved watching the funky little ‘shop’ boat come by in the morning delivering/selling bread etc.
Although this was the most expensive of our stays while in Peru it was worth every cent just for the peace and tranquility.
EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!

This was an incredible experience. We loved having the chance to stay on Uros Qhantay and the lovely families who live on the floating island. As long as you don't come here expecting the same facilities you would find on the mainland, then you will have a great time. Our stay was as comfortable and welcoming as it could possibly have been given we stayed in the middle of a lake on a man-made island! The room was very spacious with gorgeous decor. There is a terrace with an outdoor bed and chairs which is amazing for enjoying the lake views. The room has a huge floor to ceiling window with a lake view that you can appreciate at all times. The family will cook you fresh food for breakfast, lunch and dinner - just be aware that this is at an extra cost to the room but very reasonable. They fished us fresh trout from the lake on our arrival! The nights are very cold there but they provided us with a gas heater and filled our bedsheets with hot water bottles which meant we were comfortable. We were picked up and dropped off by boat from the main land. The family also showed us round the area and let us dress up in traditional clothes. Thank you so much for having us stay with you, we really enjoyed it.
The hosts did everything they possibly could have done to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Just have the right expectations on your visit.

Enchanting and peaceful location. The hosts were attentive, welcoming and very informative. They offered a small tour of the Uros Islands in traditional clothing which was a very nice touch. We also did a short traditional boat tour at sunset and we were shown how traditional fishing is being done. The food that was prepared was good, simple and plentiful.
Nothing. This is a very rustic experience and one should be ready for it.

I spent 22 days in Peru in January 2022 and this is was in the top two places I stayed on that entire trip. I absolutely loved this accommodation. It is even more beautiful than the photos. The lodge is huge and the bed is soooooooooo comfortable. They even provide hot water bottles for the evening to add extra warmth. The terrace with the beautiful daybed was my favorite part! It was so beautiful, I could just lay out there forever. I did lay out there as much as I could and just soaked in the peace and tranquility. Was a perfect place to read or siesta! Delia and Wilbur are fantastic hosts! They arranged pick up and transfers from the airport to the lodge. Delia made all my meals and they were delicious!! Wilbur took me around the community and Delia was always excited to chat and both loved to share their lives and culture with me. It was such a beautiful experience to get to know them. Both Delia and Wilbur are talented craftspeople as well and most of the decor is made by them and it is beautiful! I was lucky to get to buy several pieces to take home as well.
Nothing.

Beautiful unique stay. our hosts Delia and Wilbur were so sweet and attentive and made sure we were well taken care of from the moment we got to puno. they arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport who drove us right to the port where Wilbur was already waiting to transfer us to the lodge on his boat. once we arrived we were in awe of how beautiful the view was from our bedroom and from the balcony. the bed is huge and comfy with plenty of blankets to keep you warm. they also provide a heater and Delia gave us these hot water bottles to put in our sheets that kept us warm and cozy all night. those bottles were one of my favorite things besides the view lol. the experience was just so unique authentic and perfect. highly recommend

I love, love, love this place.
First of all the fact that you have to arrive at a motorboat is super awesome.
Then they take you to what is the most beautiful relaxing cabin. It’s your own little private cabana. Outside of each room they have a bed for you to enjoy the view of the lake. It is so well decorated and adorned.
This is where you go to disconnect. There are no TVs in the rooms. There are no outlets in the room, but you do have electricity in the form of light switches. If you do you need to charge your phones they have a battery in the dining area that you can connect your USB to. They are still upgrading, they’re only three years old. But it is magnificent. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the cabins were.
After I settled in they dressed up in authentic Uros clothing and we took pictures it was so fun and cute. They also have a variety of handmade items that they make and sell. So unlike all of the generic things you see at the market these are one-of-a-kind pieces that they make, that are available for purchase.
That night the husband (Wilbur) and son took me on a traditional Uros boat and took me on a sunset boat ride It was really nice. He answered all my questions and give me some information about the culture and their way of life.
The bed and blankets are super warm at night. I was there in October and it’s really chilly at night they do have a gas heater but you have to turn that off after done time because you don’t want to get gas poisoning. So my face and breath was a little cold. But if you go in the warmer months you don’t really have any of that to worry about. Also if you’re the type of person to leave the window open in the winter or turn the AC on in the winter than you would love it as is.
The family is amazing. They have so much information, they are so kind, and the food was delicious! You swear Dehlia worked at a four star restaurant. Everything Dehlia cooks is amazing.
I loved everything about the property the only thing that I would say that I didn’t like is that I’m from the Caribbean so it’s always hot and I thought it was super chilly at night in October. If you don’t like chilly nights I recommend going in the summer months which are like November through March. If you like turning the AC on in the winter or you leave the window open in the winter than you’ll love the weather in October at night.
The heater warmed up the room until I turned it off and I had to sleep under the covers which was fine for me. I was still would’ve stayed at a few more nights if I could have. I love this place.

Everyone in the island was amazing. Richard teach us how to cut the "totora". The food was super good and it was awsome to meet people of different countries that were staying in the island for few days. It was like to be part of a family. We have been there for two nights and we had a great time.
