The location and the room was perfect for us

Lovely place to stay, lovely bathroom and bright rooms
1.5
No food available. Very small room and shower. But it was convenient for our purposes
4.5
It was very clean, big room, twin beds, very warm and cosy.
New bathroom with shower and hot water.
Parking space on the back and nice bar.
The pillows were too thin for our taste but you get two.
There is no other restaurant or place to eat close to it. The closest one is 20 minutes downhill and you need to go uphill back, no ubers in the area and maybe bit difficult to use taxis for short distances.

Comfy bed. Free (limited) parking.
Tiny bathroom. Loo set into an alcove so you couldn't sit on the loo without arms almost touching walls both sides and you had to lift a leg onto the 'boxing' covering pipes to have space to sit!
Bathroom bin wasn't emptied otherwise the place was nice and clean.
No food/ breakfast offer. Just a few steps up the road is a wonderful community run village store and cafe.
I wouldn't mind any of this but it wasn't cheap and a colleague's room was quite expensive.

There was no breakfast

Fabulius - great walk into stroud lovely place nice owner very pleasant

Location and room was fantastic. Staff were lovely and although going through a kitchen refurbishment, bar was great and offer of pizza from pizza oven was great and tasty. Would definitely return again.
Nothing negative to say.

nice and quiet. felt like your own home, very comfortable bed and lovely warm room

Friendly welcome from our host Ken
Nice pub too.
4.5
Everything about the accommodation and the kind courteous manner made our stay lovely.

The pub management was intimidating and refused to put on heating in a freezing cold brick wall room. He also refused to give us a full refund when we asked to leave after he wouldn’t put the heating on.

Surrounded by nice walks in beautiful landscapes and not far from Stroud by car.
Room was very clean and bed was comfy.
The noise from the upstairs room from 6a.m. was awful. A child must have been running around but we could hear everything from up there!
Pub felt pretty depressing and empty with some badly acted tv show on in the background. Nothing much else in the area as an alternative for a bit more atmosphere.
4.0
Good shower, clean and compact room.
Broken toilet seat. Thought £20 to take dog into pub was a bit steep.
4.5
Comfortable bed.
Tricky exit back on to the main road from car park.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size. Views were lovely.
Tea stains from previous guests, wafer thin pillows and creased bedding. Just a little tired really. With some TLC the room could be lovely.

Friendly welcoming great views

Beautiful location , great host , very clean , perfect quaint getaway !
Could do with another mirror apart from that everything was perfect 4 girls n 1 bathroom mirror can be a problem .
2.5
Just an ok place
No breakfast (though their website says bed and breakfast)
No dinner that we could buy from the pub downstairs, had to travel to the town nearby
It was steaming hot due to the heatwave, so stay was unpleasant - a fan could have been provided

Stroud is a nice place to go for any occasion. We stayed at the star Inn for 1 night only , just passing through. The rooms had been refurbished an think we were the first in after. The shower was good, the toilet a little pokey just as well we aren't any bigger than we were.
Didn't like being woken up by the upstairs neighbor, could hear him walking across the floor an climbing back to bed. Also the shower an toilet. Felt you could do with sound proofing upstairs.. Apart from this I liked the design an layout of property, wasnt to keen on the drive into or leaving the property a little steep.
The cafe was nice warming , very friendly people ,altho no cooking was being done, so we managed to have a slice of Victoria sponge, an coffee before we set off back down the hill to star, where we left the car.Unable to do pictures of room as I lost signal on phone an battery was low, so couldn't charge ..

The best welcome from the best host. Was like spending the night at your grandads, a warm welcome followed by a beautiful room looking over stunning views. They went above and beyond to make our stay as great as it was! Thanks for having us love Emma & Sam

lovely room, perfect for a stop over for us, enjoyed a few drinks in the pub, literally 8 steps away.
It was a bit off the beaten track, no option for breakfast.
4.5
Lovely hotel in convenient and quiet location with a great view. Has its own pub and currently serves pint and pizza for £10.
Very comfortable bed, and spacious suite (we stayed in the family suite) with effectively 2 rooms so we could put travel cot in one room and sleep in the other.
Also loved that there was a lovely playground within short walking distance. Breakfast is not available on site but there is a nice cafe by the playground that does breakfast for a good price.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Will remember this b&b for future visits to Stroud.
Only thing I would add was a door or maybe curtains between the rooms. It would have made it less risky to watch TV once little one had gone to bed.
4.5
Clean, good location, very friendly staff.
Was all good, nothing not to like. Basic but very clean and comfortable
