So sieht Gastfreundlich nicht aus…..

Lagerfeuer beim Abendessen

Ich frage mich wirklich wo die ganzen positiven Bewertungen herkommen. Die Zimmer sind abgewohnt, dunkel und nicht gerade sauber und der Preis dafür doch sehr stolz. Das Personal derart unfreundlich und desinteressiert, das habe ich in keiner anderen Lodge erlebt. Beim Check Inn betete die Dame uns im exakt selben monotonen und emotionslosen Wortlaut die Essenszeiten und Infos über die Lodge herunter, wie den amerikanischen Gästen vor uns auch schon, ohne uns dabei auch nur eines Blickes zu würdigen. Nach dem Abendessen waren die Herrschaften derart genervt, das man freiwillig verzichtete an der Bar etwas zu trinken, als Gast fühlte man sich als Störfaktor. Vielleicht lag es daran, dass das Management auf Urlaub war…… Am Tag unserer Abreise war der Herr aus seinem Südafrika Urlaub zurück und siehe da, das Personal war auf einmal freundlich….. Schade…

Gepflegte, gut geführte Lodge

Wir waren rundum zufrieden mit dem Service durch das Personal. Wir wurden jederzeit ausgesprochen freundlich bedient, man hat uns alle Wünsche erfüllt. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, die Ausstattung hochwertig und gut gepflegt. Man hat einen wunderbaren Blick vom Zimmer aus in die Berge. Wenn man sehr früh morgens aufsteht, um zu den Dünen zu fahren, kann man auf Anfrage eine Lunchbox bekommen. Wir hatten dort unseren Hochzeitstag gefeiert und das Management hat uns unseren Tisch mit Blumen dekorieren lassen und uns uns einen Sekt spendiert. Das fand ich super aufmerksam. Der Reiseleiter einer Gruppe hatte Geburtstag und bekam vom gesamten Personal ein afrikanisches Geburtstagsständchen gesungen.

VISIT THIS LODGE PEOPLE, YOU WON‘T REGRET IT

Unbelievable location, great lodge, we also saw Oryx walking through the lodge by night, fantastic dinners. It was my wife’s birthday and the WHOLE staff came dancing and singing to our table, they sang 3 songs for her in local language, we were speechless!!!!

Any customer service un this place

Room is ok

We Forget an important item un the room the last day and when we tried to reach them a couple of hours later to ask to ship it (at my charge of course), with booking.com and even e-mail, i never recieved any answer. I tried 3 times. Sense of customer service is definitely absent in this hôtel.

Cosy and relaxing

Room was simple but really cosy, everything you need voor a few nights when exploring Sosusvlei. Restaurant and pool area are also cosy and comfortable. Dinner was perfect! Nice and helpful staff. And Leon, thanks for the fun conversations!

Deserts Best Namibia

Firstly, they accommodated my last minute planning, I originally wanted one night then stayed for another to do the Sossusvlei tour. They put me in the house or the back. Dinners were lovely, and well organized. And it was the first time I tasted wildebeest and antelope. Wi-Fi was spotty and non existent at the house but I'm sure one will fare better with a proper booking. You can also just use the Wi-Fi at reception. I did laundry with them at a nominal cost and they were quite receptive to all my requests. If anything the place was rather well run indeed. I took a dip in the pool IV my first evening and the towels were furnished, removed and replenished rather quickly. My tour guide for Sossusvlei, Ziggy, was first rate and I was pleased and impressed with all he offered from the stories, lore, geography and especially his ace driving and snake spotting skills! He clearly knows what he's doing. I learned also that the property has some bushmen art on a 4k walk away but I did not get to verify this with reception.

The design, the comfort, the staff, and first of áll the food. The diner is uncredible tasty.

The oromisd fridge és nőt ín the room. The USB chargesr didn't work. The A/C was wrong. Etc. And the worst bad ever..

great rooms with a super view to the desert, best night sky ever seen. organized trips: sundowner tour and trip to the dunes with tour guides who are really friendly and tell you a lot about the nature. good breakfast and dinner. nice pool area.

Very good

It was a nice stay in a beautiful lodge. The dinners were a bit expensive compared to other lodges we stayed in during our trip in Nambia. The manager was very concerned about her customers. We appreciated that.

Nice lodge, better than expected, and a good base for tours to Sossusvlei and Naukluft

I enjoyed this lodge, it was better than expected. Very nice room with a terrace from which to watch the stars at night. Delicious food served either inside or outside in a nice setting. I went on the guided tour to Sossusvlei and had a great experience with Ziggy who I thought was an excellent, fun guide. As I stayed for three nights, I also used the opportunity to drive up to the Naukluft mountains. Not very near but worthwhile.

Modern and clean desert lodging in desert outback

This is a very nice property in the middle of the desert. Well managed and maintained with cheerful interiors and updated furnishings. Nicely landscaped. Meals are terrific considering how far it is from any food or beverage sources. The pool is refreshing and they play fun African music in the communal areas. They offer carts for self service luggage transport from your truck to your room, since they have very few staff around.

It is located in kind of a funny, not particularly attractive area of the desert. About 45 minutes to an hour's drive to Sossussvlei park entrance on a rough road. Good for a one night stopover.

Lovely spot in the desert

Spacious & comfortable rooms, nicely landscaped, lots of room for lounging outside, friendly staff, great day-trip to Sosussvlei.

Very nice lodge not far away from Sossus vlei

Very nice view from the room to a wide landscape. Excellent guided tour to Sossusvlei and death vlei.

We would recommend to others going to the area

Considering the remoteness of the accommodation and the need to bring all produce in the food was really good. breakfast and dinner were very well presented and tasted good.

Top. Beautiful location. Peace and quiet.

This was our first hotel of our tour and it was an instant hit. We really enjoyed the beautiful, spacious rooms. The terrace overlooking the desert was my favorite spot. Dinner was great. The good night stories were a nice attention. The sundowner was also very nice and in an amazingly beautiful decor. Too bad the lovely pool was too cold to use. By the way, nowhere in Namibia are the pools heated, although there is enough sun to do that with solar panels.

Not a realy bad thing but... The distance to Sossus was a little bit longer and with worse roads than I had hoped.

I would just add some fruit and vegetable to breakfast as we are used to it. But we understand it is very hard in the middle of desert!

One of the best Lodges

There is nothing bad to say about this place - on the contrary - this was one of the best lodges we had in Namibia! The Rooms are big and clean ( it was a bit cold when we've been there, so the AC couldn't do a room temperature of 23° - it was a bit too cold in the room. ) But while you are having dinner, the room is being made ready for the night ( you get a bedtime story ( this was cute! ) and a small sweet on the pillow. Dinner and breakfast was really good - we had a menu for the night ( no buffet ) and a sufficent breakfast. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place for sure to others!

As mentioned before it was really cold there when we stayed at Elegant Lodge - one morning we had no warm water ( so no possibility to have a shower ) and also the Internet didn't work. We complained about those two things ( I mean, we paid a big amount of money to stay there! ) and didn't even got a fare reduction. Well, we received a sorry - but we still had a bitter aftertaste when leaving. We could have stayed at their campsite for less money and receive the same service .......

Stunning location, great lodge

Stunning location. Every room has a free view into the desert and the mountains. Big, comfortable rooms, nice bathrooms. Beautiful pool and bar area. Nice restaurant, good food, friendly staff.

Lovely place to stay, but bring your own food, as the Chef does not have a clue!

Staff were super friendly, helpful and really accommodating. Could not say anything against the location, not the staff.

I thought the dinner was shocking. Tasteless and totally under seasoned. The soup was like canned soup, metallic and really poor. Main course was without salt or pepper, the vegetables were over cooked and soggy and I could not eat more than a few mouthfuls before stopping. And the desert..., over-rich, had more sugar than anything and one spoonful was enough. Then the breakfast. For a Lodge this expensive, the variety supplied by the Chef was nothing short of appalling. Cold meats were from the day before, the cheese looked like it was served three days ago and wasn't finished. Edges were dry and discoloured. The bacon was more fat than bacon and only just cooked not to be raw. It was a truly poor show when it came to the food and something should be done to improve on this as when everything else was so good, this aspect showed up as being so bad, as a result.

Too many insects, but a good stay for the price.

The staff was excellent. Truly attentive and kind. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. There was a decent selection of gin. It was a good value for the area. The location was fine.

The insect situation is out of hand. I could see simple changes that would make it better: weather stripping under the doors. Get rid of the ornamental lawns (in a desert. With above ground sprinkler systems. Wasteful and attracts every insect out there). Insect repellent was provided, and a net for the bed, but literally the entire window was covered in bugs. No matter how much we kept the doors closed, there were hugs gaps below them.yhe pool was covered in a film of dead bugs. It's clear that all the lodges have the same problem, I just think there are better ways to deal with it than poison and ornamental lawns. Additionally, I mentioned many times to the property that I am vegetarian (including in my Booking.com request and it was confirmed) and was still served meat twice. When I declined to eat their vegetarian dinner that consisted of only vegetables, the owner asked "why not?". Maybe because no protein was provided. Imported overcooked vegetables from South Africa aren't worth paying for. WiFi only available at lodge, not in the rooms.
