Both staff and room were really good and it was great value for money
Obviously the breakfast was dissapointing you got a voucher to take to the shop next door but only a minor criticism
3.5
Good sized room with generous sized bathroom and large TV with Netflix. Coffee and tea making facilities in room. Bed was very comfortable with great pillows (not those pumped up kinds). Very welcoming staff and a great pizza! Close to Wast Water, the coast and a well-stocked Budgen's next door. Ideal stop-over for enjoying the western lakes.
I stayed in Room 1 which overlooks the staff smoking area, unfortunately it was quite noisy deep into the night (4am) with constant conversations and arguments going on. Not the best for a restful night.

The hostess and service was brilliant. Really caring and helpful.
The shower drain was blocked and flooded into the bathroom. There was also no A/C or fan and it was absolutely boiling in the room.
3.5
Room was good overall and it is a good location for those looking to hike the Scafell Pike
The breakfast was a disappointment, as it is a voucher to be used in the convenience store next door. This should be more clear on their page

Great location for hill walking around Wasdale. Very comfortable and good evening meal

We'd asked for extra tea and coffee plus extra pillows. Was already in room when we got there

Clean! Didn’t have to worry about that! Well presented room.
Few things:
- Roof window - cannot get air coming in if it rains cannot cover up during the day if you want a nap - would have been better if photos were shared so one can make a decision prior to booking. Room photos seemed to show only normal windows.
- “small” double is really tiny - a box room - so tiny that the bathroom door hits the desk chair everytime you open it!
- Biggest issue was the music coming from the pub until the early hours of the night!

We booked room only so cannot comment on food/drink etc as we didnt use the pub. Access to the rooms is separate from the pub. We found our room to be very clean and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities very good. Parking is free in a public car park across the road which we found to be convenient.
Our room (standard double) was a little bit small but ok

Location, centreline of a very nice village
Breakfast was from the shop nice to it. If I had known I would have room only. Ps it was a nice breakfast roll and coffee to takeaway.

Clean and comfortable, friendly staff, good food
The room was very small. Even with a double bed it's only suitable for one person.

Location, great pub, comfortable bed and lovely shower
No breakfast served, but not a big problem really
3.0
Staff polite / food nice
No cold water but fixed fairly quickly but would hope these should be checked prior to check in. Hot water tap too hot (scalding) Shower went scalding hot to freezing cold as well but as early check out could not warn them face to face so either it did this for me for the 1st time or did it for everyone prior. Be good if they checked this out so it did not happen to the next person unless it as a temp issue. After checking booking confirmation it mention a voucher for breakfast but nothing received (again not too bothered but nothing mentioned) .

Location was ok carpark was a public carpark and there’s a local shop right next door to the lion of the lamb, the rooms a cozy with i suite with internet.
The only downfall of the visit was that there was no breakfast payed on but you could get breakfast sandwiches and a brew in the local shops next door

location, standard of the room, pub grub good.
nowhere to unpack clothes, noisy fan during kitchen hours.

Very clean room, with excellent facilities. Lots of sockets with USB as well.
Advertised as a small double but would have been very tight with two people. Public car park across the road.
5.0
Very clean rooms with modern design. Free car park nearby. dog friendly.. perfect option for bank holiday getaway with great access to main points of Lake District.
Rooms are a little tight, but great value for money.
