Enjoy the beauty of Martha's Vineyard in classic mid-century style at this four-bedroom Chilmark home! This is a unique and secluded architectural gem with a private swimming pool and deck, beautiful ocean views, and nearby access to some of the island's most sought after beaches.
Built in 1964 by the award-winning architect Eliot Noyes, of The Harvard Five, the residence was featured in Life Magazine. This iconic single-level home sits just five minutes from Menemsha beach. The property is wonderfully private, yet it's also only three minutes from Lucy Vincent Beach and three miles from the recently renovated Squibnocket Beach; both of which can be accessed by bringing the rental agreement to town hall at Beetlebung Corner for the permit.
With exterior walls constructed almost entirely of floor-to-ceiling glass, this oceanview home is composed of three components closely connected by covered decks. It’s the perfect place for a family getaway, a stylish retreat, or a beach vacation with close friends.
Step inside the open living space to find an abundance of mid-century design, exposed wood ceilings, and plenty of seating for your guests. Admire the views of the ocean and the surrounding trees and garden as you choose a book from the shelves, sit down to play a board game, browse the WiFi, or curl up by the flatscreen cable TV.
Wake up each morning with the help of the Nespresso machine in the kitchen, which also features open shelving and a dishwasher for your convenience. Flip pancakes and scrambled eggs with your kids and sit down as a family around the dining table for eight.
You'll be only a short drive from Menemsha, Lucy Vincent, and Squibnocket Beaches, but you'll also have access to a gorgeous private swimming pool. Sunbathe on the deck with a cocktail in hand, play a game of cards at one of the patio tables, and then light the gas grill for an afternoon barbecue.
The yard, enclosed by a beautiful stone wall, offers a wonderful space for picnicking, playing and relaxing, while the outdoor shower and private washer/dryer help keep the sand and grass outside.
With four bedrooms (that are separate from the main living area) and two bathrooms, The Eliot Noyes will accommodate as many as eight guests. You'll find one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, and two bedrooms with a set of twin beds apiece - each of which opens onto a gorgeous, private deck space.
Known for its tranquil atmosphere and scenic natural beauty, Chilmark is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Spend your days basking in the sun on Menemsha Beach or pick up a pass to access the private stretches of sand at Lucy Vincent and Squibnocket Beaches.
You'll also be just three miles from the Menemsha Hills Reservation, a 211-acre expanse that is ideal for hiking among wetlands, woodlands, and the island's second-highest peak.
Come and experience this stunning glimpse of island life. Book your getaway at the Eliot Noyes House on Martha’s Vineyard today!

Wonderful place for a getaway to MV. Well appointed, comfy home with great pool. Plenty of privacy but easy to get to. Enjoyed our stay

If you are looking for a great home in the island, this is it! It’s very private and off the beaten path. For us, we loved it as the beaches were just a short drive away, as were the nearby villages too. The home is very unique and have a great floor plan. It’s full of local art, keepsakes and has lovely grounds. Absolutely beautiful!
The home is rustic maybe to some, but had all the amenities we needed. The pool was an added bonus too. We were happy to leave the hustle and bustle of Edgartown and Oak Bluffs ; our private drive on a lovely wooded lot was perfect. Ocean views from the deck were perfect. Loved it!

waiting for property manager to reply to the issue that has been recapped with them since arrival. even though VRBO listing said heat was available, it was not. and fireplace was not available. and it was really cold--which ruined any opportunity to use the location in day or night for three days. awaiting response before any final review and further VRBO bookings

Overall my friends and I have come twice to the Noyes house and are planning to come back next year. As long as you’re comfortable not staying near the main towns, it’s an ideal location - close to the markets and stores of west tisbury, several of the best beaches on the island (Lucy Vincent and Aquinnah in particular), the Chilmark general store, and some of the best farms like beetlebung. The house is something between rustic and luxury, which is deal for a group of friends. It’s not a big deal to us that some of the screen doors are prone to come out of the track or that the pool is a bit cold. That small stuff is outweighed by a very cool, unique place with all the beach supplies you’d need, in what I think is an ideal up island location.

Clear and honest architecture, a special place that makes the most of its site. (This from 4 architects who stayed here together; a tough crowd!)

I booked this house because it had a pool and it did not disappoint us! My family had a great time playing in the pool. It was so nice to jump in after a hot day being out and about. I was a bit concerned about not having AC but it wasn’t bad at all.

Amazing rental!!!
The views, area, environment and culture all make it worth every penny!

We loved staying here. The open concept layout was perfect for our group. I really appreciated all the interesting art and little details of the interior. Carried more personal character than staged airbnb feel. The rooms being separated by the common space really gave us all privacy.
Waking up to the ocean view was such a treat. Place felt relatively clean upon arrival. The pool was nice but didn't use it much because it wasn't heated. Would have loved to use it more!

We rented this very expensive property so that the ring bearer and flower girl could swim in the pool. The pool was not functioning and just green slime.

My friends, fiancée and I loved our stay at this gorgeous mid-century home in Chilmark earlier this month. We enjoy staying up-island and being further away from bustling OB/Vineyard Haven, so pls expect a 30 min drive to Oak Bluffs. It was as-advertised, clean and with great amenities. This rental also seems well-priced for the amenities, location, etc. Our only issues were that the garbage disposal in the sink was clogged upon arrival, so the sink was incredibly slow to drain. However, a note was left so we were aware. Hopefully, it will be/has been fixed. Also, the floor to ceiling screen doors in the common areas consistently came off the track when opening and closing. Not a major structural issue, but annoying and should be an easy fix by the owner. Details matter. We would absolutely stay here again on our annual trip to MV.

The good: The property is in a nice private location with a wonderful view of the ocean. Each of two separated sides contains 2 bedrooms, with a shared bath for each. It is great to have a total of 4 twin beds (and 2 masters) for families. The check in was super easy.
The bad: The accommodations are rustic and bare bones camp style. Definitely not high end. Although the pictures are accurate, it is a bit more worn than it appears. The screen doors do not stay on the tracks and none of the areas can be securely locked (due to non existent and broken locks), although we didn't have any concerns in that area. The kitchen has an Nespresso machine, but the home was not stocked with pods or any coffee for that matter. The pots and pans were a bit spotty on the cleaning, but not a problem for us. Given the summer pricing, I would rate this a 3 star, but we are giving it a 4 star, assuming that others won't be paying as much as we did.

This house is just as advertised in many ways and the view is absolutely gorgeous! The art and architecture is wonderful. The beach pass to Lucy Vincent is such a special thing and the kids had a blast playing in the waves. There are many things that don't work or are broken, from most/all of the screen doors that don't close and pop off or stick (and you need to use to get from room to room) to the kitchen sink drain and disposal (which was extremely difficult with cooking 3 meals/day) to the coffee maker and the vacuum. The beds are comfortable, but the carpets have disconcerting stains. The grounds are beautiful but not well maintained. The pool was a huge plus and tons of fun, but was fully green by the end of our 2-week stay. We spoke to the representatives many times and they tried to help, but things like the disposal and doors really weren't fixable. They also seemed uninformed about protocols, like when trash gets picked up and when the pool is serviced. We were surprised more than once when someone came onto the property or inside the house unannounced. We had a wonderful time, but we expected more for the price.

What a unique property nestled in the trees and with a view of the ocean over the trees. We enjoyed the open space, the pool and the separate sleeping quarters for our teens. The Lucy Vincent Beach was just beautiful and only a few minutes drive.

We enjoyed the house, but we were disappointed in the lack of responsiveness to our questions over the course of our stay. When we checked in, the home was completely unlocked which I emailed the contact ([email protected]) to notify them about, to which I received no reply. I also emailed to ask where we might take out the trash, and also how to use the garbage disposal which wasn't working, also to which I received no reply. I finally heard from Vacasa only at 10:15am on the morning of our check out basically asking us to hurry up on our way out the door because their cleaning team was very busy and wanted to get in. For the price point of this house, I was very disappointed by the management of it.

Rented this house for a few nights with friends for a birthday - great house and pool with great views. Very secluded and gets quite dark at night.

camp like accommodations with a great view
This property was just as they described. It was spacious, rustic and had a great view. However, we did encounter a few problems. The floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that surrounded the entire living space were broken. We were unable to keep the screen doors open due to them continually coming off the tracks. That was very frustrating. Also the furniture and beds were not very comfortable. The place itself was clean but some of the throw pillows and furniture were a little dirty. Overall, it was perfect for what we needed for our get away weekend and would definitely come back. *also we had questions on a few things while we were there and the property manager called us back within minutes. They were very eager to solve any problems we had and even offered to come out to our location to help us with the screen door issue. (that got high marks from me : )

Quiet Up-Island
Very nice home. Everything was as advertised. Funky layout but quite cool and different.
