I have been to Storks Nest twice and did not think, the second time could be better than the first, but it was. It's difficult to pin down why. It could be the sound of the ocean as we go to sleep, or waking up and showering outdoors in the early morning sun, or kayaking virtually from our door; it could be the wildlife all around, or the boogie boarding at the beach down the hill, or perhaps even the moonlit walks we enjoyed on the private beach. The home is a mix of charm and practicality with everything we could need, but the magic is where it is located, by a stunning pond and the sea, that you experience throughout the home. It is a place for romance, and a place for family and friends. I am counting down to the next visit.

We have been blessed over the years to have spent numerous weeks at the Storks Nest with friends and family. There is not a more beautiful and relaxing location on MV. The cottage is well supplied with everything necessary including extraordinary sunrises and sunsets. We hope to return for years to come.

From the Cornish looking driveway to the wide Atlantic Ocean view, Stork's Nest provided seven artists with everything we hoped for. The house had every conceivable household item and gadget including sharp knives, as well as a well stocked basement with washer and drier, work tables, outdoor clothes line and shower. The kitchen is ample, at times we could almost all fit in at once. The bathrooms are ample, and the bedrooms all comfortable and well appointed. Our living, playing, laughing and painting was done mainly under the wabasabi laden wooden ceiling planks and the sweeping deck where we watched nature's varied performances for the most nourishing week of our lives. The body surfing and rock gazing is the best we have ever encountered.

From the Cornish looking driveway to the wide Atlantic Ocean view, Stork's Nest provided seven women artists with everything we could have wished for. The household provided every conceivable gadget and convenience, thoughtfully stocked necessities such as spices and cooking utensil, and a copious basement with washer direr, tables for crafts, an outdoor shower and fully functional clothes line for fresh sun dried clothing. The bathroom facilities and bedrooms were ample and cozy, but our laughing, playing and painting was mainly done under the unique wabasabi laden ceiling planks and on the sweeping deck, where we watched nature's varied performances for the most nourishing week of our loves. For body surfers and rack gazers, the Chilmark beach is unbeatable.

My husband and I stayed here with our 10 month old son, my brother and his girlfriend. The house is comfortable, the view is spectacular and the adventures are endless. We thought about going out to dinner a few times but were unable to find anything with a better view, so we just ordered take out and sat on the deck to eat while enjoying the sunset. The house had more than enough space for all of us without feeling crowded. We loved the private dock with canoes and kayaks for everyone. There was even an infant life jacket and little baby seat to snap in to the middle of the double kayak so we could bring our son out on the pond with us. He was somewhat less thrilled by the experience than we were, but I'm still glad we got to do it! There was a family of swans that ventured into the pond every day to visit us and enough bird watching opportunities to satisfy anyone. We had a wonderful vacation in this house and will definitely choose to stay here again next time we visit Martha's Vineyard.

This house worked perfectly for our family. It has a special feel with its clean simple decor, beautiful views, abundant birds and serene relaxing setting far from the tourist crowds. We found lots to see and do in the neighborhood: canoeing from the property's dock around Squibnocket Pond's 600 acres, long walks along Squibnocket Beach a mere 300 yards away, sailing on Menemsha Pond, the famous (and still-operational!) Gay Head Lighthouse, Menemsha fishing village with its yummy seafood takeouts, West Tisbury's several art galleries, Chilmark Chocolates (google it), etc. Pianists will find the piano in need of tuning.

We had an amazing experience at the Stork's Nest! The view and deck is incredible, perfect for cocktail hour or reading books at nap time. Our kids, ages 4, 10, and 12 enjoyed boating in the pond, the beautiful beach, and hanging on the outdoor porch. The beds are comfortable, and the family room has amazing natural light and views of the ocean and pond. The kitchen is well-equipped. There is nothing that this house lacked for our family. Even the outdoor shower has amazing views of the ocean and Squibby pond. My senior parents enjoyed the house as well, and it was great having no steps for them to worry about walking up. A perfect home for our three generations!
