To enter your room like a puzzle you have to enter 5 doors to get your room. The shower and bathroom are sharing so in the morning you have to wait in the queue 😀 I booked two nights but I stayed only one night and I lost the cancellation fees.

Great location as it’s only a 10 minute walk or so into the centre of Cambridge and the river which is great for the price. The room was comfortable and a good size for three of us. We were on the top floor and we’re really surprised by how big the room was as there was loads of room for our bags etc. The shared bathrooms were always clean and had the standard shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to use if needed which was really handy. The staff were really friendly when we checked in and very helpful!
The noise levels from downstairs at the bar were louder than we expected, however we brought ear plugs as we had seen the warning that music goes on till 3am so we just made sure we had those in to start with when we went to sleep and that really helped! Also, the property could do with a little refurb but considering how cheap it was for so close to town, it was a great price!

Location and staff: both excellent. Staff were particularly solicitous and kind, helping us up the stairs with our luggage.
Windy, difficult to manoeuvre up, stairs.

It was extremely noisy.
The noise was unbearable.

You really need to advertise to guests how loud the room is - it is unfair to host people in rooms with absolutely no sound proofing without any kind of disclosure about how loud it is. We didn’t get any sleep - it was like we were in the bar itself the music was so loud. We had a terrible experience. We would strongly advise people to never stay here on the days where the bar is open late.

It’s well located and the room was clean and comfortable.
There are only two bathrooms for guests so you have to queue in the morning.

Staff friendly. Excellent location.
Noise until 4am from below and outside, even x2 floors above the bar/street, though was half-expected.

near to where I needed to be
thumping music in bar til 3 am. bathroom two floors away. no towels. carpets grubby. paintwork grubby. sink blocked. bed linen looked 20 years old.

the noise from the pub below was ridiculous until 3am. if they don’t want to sound proof the rooms the. I don’t think they should rent these rooms out. Our night stay wasn’t worth £90. The shower on our floor didn’t work so multiple rooms were sharing one shower on the floor above. The bed seemed clean but the room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned for our station or probably the one before!

Brilliant position, friendly member of staff and a comfortable bed and night. A shared bathroom but very clean and no issue at all.
Strangely where were no batteries in the TV remote. I'm sure this could've been remedied but it wasn't all that important so we didn't bother. No kettle in the room either. Also, there should've possibly been indication in the keypad outside that it was for the accommodation. It was a bit of a maze inside though, though an intriguing setup so no real issue.

Excellent location (especially for the Corn Exchange). Excellent price (compared to most other places in the area). Friendly and welcoming and a nice clean room. Shared bathroom but it was lovely and clean. Would definitely stay again.
For what I paid, I don't expect too much really. If I had to request something, it would be tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Nothing major or fancy, but a kettle, mugs and teabags was very much needed.

Room is very poor condition. Broken window, old curtain , when opened cobweb around. One bed don’t have headboard, bedside table thingy don’t have a light. my son like reading before sleep , we have to use a ceiling light which make I can’t sleep. The bedsheets are old , hopefully clean , although didn’t smell any fresh odour I would hope For.
Location is excellent , owner is helpful and friendly but the room ? yak

It was clean and in a good position
Only 1 Bathroom for 2floors . Noise was a problem which I feel could be made more bearable if the windows had double glazing

Good location. Cambridge as full and accommodation hard to find due to the Folk Festival. Breakfast available next door at Weatherspoons. Good and cheap.
It was not clear when I booked, that the room was over a disco on Fri-Sat nights until 3am. The manager offered me earplugs! He was very obliging and was able to move me to the top of the building for one of the nights. Only one shower room working, which was shared amoungst all the rooms.

Location was good in terms of area of the town and closeness to Center
No AC, No mini fridge, uncomfortable beds, sheets, pillows. Incredibly noisy outside- even on a weekday. Not suitable for anyone who wants to have a restful stay.

Great service. Great view from the room.
Nothing not to like

What is meant by "room only" is that you literally only get the room, and the WC and shower are located down the hall. Both were very clean. Staff was fantastic. In order to get to my room I had to call a number that they posted on the window, which was a bit odd, but worked out fine. Location could not have been more central, and was also very close to the buss station.
Febreezing pillowcases, smell was too strong. Our room also had bad curtains which meant that the strong light from the bar sign would have disturbed out sleep had we not had eye masks.
