It is a rare opportunity to stay in a place of this caliber. We were given a personal attendant in kimono for the entire of our stay. The views were spectacular and the level of Japanese service was impeccable.
The room was beautiful & offered every convenience (loved the espresso maker!). The futon beds were incredibly comfortable! The overall hotel was peaceful and refined. We highly recommend taking advantage of the private onsen. The baths are small, but have everything you need and offer a lovely view of the beach & ocean.
The Kaiseki meal did a great job of introducing local specialties with a sense of humor and great play on words.
To be honest, for this level of accommodation, we've had better meals, but this is just our impression after one night and one dinner.

Very nice facility, wonderful meals (breakfasts and dinners), great ocean view and gracious staff (English was available) who were always available and eager to assist. The location was not in the central city but close enough to be convenient.
There is nothing that disappointed us.

First time in a Japanese style Onsen. The place was wonderful and very relaxing. The staff was exceptional. And the view is spectacular.
No in house dining facilities.

Everything of this ryokan (quality room, great food, attentive service) has been to me perfect. In particular, I enjoy the onsen and like the history and tradition of the ryokan.
Nothing.

This establishment has aged well and clearly pride itself in providing quality service to guests. the staff take pride in their work and do their best to make their guests comfortable even when communicating is not always easy. the dining experience was thoughtful and lovely and the private and public bath experience was quiet and calming.
I would have loved to have more information about the history of the place but was too shy to probe…

The ryokan setting is beautiful with an amazing view of the water, private onsen time and service was impeccable. Food was beautifully presented. Highly enjoyed the welcome treat and tea.

very well cleaned and maintained, the onsen was fantastic, the room was spacious overlooking the ocean. the staffs made sure we were well taken care of. genuinely an amazing experience.

The room was beautiful and in excellent condition. The panoramic ocean view was exceptional also.
The food was very disappointing, and I ended up with food poisoning, which was the first time ever for me in Japan after 15 years.
The staff were all very nice, but the food was extremely bland and unimpressive. The tables and chairs were also too small and very uncomfortable.

The dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing. The food is some of the best Washoku I have had in a long long time. The room had a massive double king bed and a beautiful view of the ocean. The private onsen was also so amazing. Apparently, one of the taxi drivers my partner and I took mentioned that Emperor Hirohito back in Showa 1954 had apparently stayed at this location many years ago. That should pretty much describe how amazing this place is.
Generally the additional charges for soft drinks during lunch and dinner were pretty sus considering the 5 star quality. Would have liked to pay more on booking.com for the stay at the hotel with everything included than to not have to worry about paying money at the hotel for the dinner/breakfast and private onsen charges. Generally when you're out on vacation you worry about the cost of the hotel/trip in the beginning and pay it before hand so it doesn't become something you have to be conscious of while you're trying to relax and enjoy everything.

The booking website failed to identify requirement to reserve dinner or breakfast. Dinner and breakfast reservation is only accepted at time of booking the stay. The staff provided excellent recommendations of places to eat and the food choose was awesome.
The taxi service was extremely busy due to the ropeway being down for maintenance; however, one of the taxi drivers mentioned that the ropeway will be operational during the winter months and taxi service will return back to normal.

Beautiful ocean views, super comfortable room, bed very comfortable too. Staff very attentive.
We stayed for a Friday and Saturday night arriving late on Friday. We checked out on the Sunday morning and would have liked to have returned to collect our bags and have a shower / onsen before our flight but this was refused as we were no longer guests. Just seems very petty at a time when few people would have been using the facility.

The place is clean with very friendly staff. Walking through the doors you can tell it was going to be an experience. The room we had, had amazing view of the beach and the sunset. Another must try would be the public onsen.
We expected the mean to be next level however were a little disappointed with what was presented.
