The lovely A-frame cabin, set back from the road looked welcoming from the beginning.
Ovetall, the house is very cozy but did not feel cramped.
The 3 bedrooms are small, but the beds are comfortable and there is lots of drawer and closet space in all the rooms. The two bathrooms are also small, but are fully functional and the towels were large and soft.
The house was very clean and well laid out. It has updated appliances and good WiFi. There is a large deck with a covered whirlpool, small gas grill, and a large table and umbrella for alfresco dining.
Highly recommend this property for a smaller group. It is NOT ADA accessable.

Loved this rental, great location, excellent kitchen appliances, sweet hot tub, barbecue grill, washer & dryer, beds were extremely comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone, 5 driving minutes from the beach and Safeway. Nice neighborhood in a good area. Easy parking off the street. Wi-Fi was great, the rental has lots of little extras from extra power cords to spices and plenty of kitchenware. Highly recommend staying at this rental!

The house was quite nice, bright and comfortable and had all the amenities as advertised. We had to adjust our travel due to a bad storm and Natural Retreats (NR) was not at all flexible on the 5pm check-in or 10am check out. The road and driveway were not plowed and there was as a significant amount of snow (~ 2 feet) left on the back deck and stairs with only a small path shoveled to the hot tub. . We were disappointed about this and we met with borderline rude responses from NR when we reached out to them about it. We ended up clearing the deck and back stairs ourselves. We also found the hot tub to be dirty with clothing stuck in the filter which we also cleaned up. Overall we enjoyed our 4 night stay but did not find NR very hospitable or sincerely invested in us having a good experience which was a bummer.

No major complaints from my family, which is saying a lot. ; )
I personally was a little surprised by the 5 pm check in and the 10 am check out. So keep that in mind if you're booking this spot. I also found that the app didn't require much to do for checking out, but there are instructions in the house that do ask for a few things to be done. This was a little confusing.

Great stay, completely as advertised, would stay again. The mgmt company messaged it was actually ready early - which I feel like never happens anymore. Easy, clean, great location, furnishings were a bit dated, but all the things you see. 10am checkout is annoying, but I feel like most VRBOs do that these days.
2 FYIs just to know what you'd be signing up for...
(1) Noise fearmongering / intolerance. It was overboard communicated both ahead of time and physically inside the property there was an intolerant neighbor and stiff fines for outside noise after 9pm that could cross the property line, an example given was talking too loud. Especially with a hot tub on the outside deck, a normal amount of noise from four 40-70yo calm adults in an otherwise silent setting could be expected. We didn't get a violation, but it was annoying to have to actively be concerned it. If having a good time outdoors at night is important to you, I'd consider elsewhere.
(2) Bear sighting. On our last day, we encountered a black bear ON the house's street, about 5 houses up from this rental. We were in the car so it was a non-issue, but we saw people walking down the same street 5 min prior and we watched it go about 20ft from a house's front door. This isn't a knock on this property - the whole area clearly can have bears - but just be aware this is tucked up in the hills enough and bear warnings are no joke. Know what to do if you see one and don't let kids/dogs roam.

Comfortable Kings Beach Home
Large deck, hot tub, and great location. Easy parking and new appliances. Smaller kitchen, but easy to work in and stocked with everything you might need. Comfortable bed rooms, and although we were only three people, the home could probably fit a lot more with the loft area and the very large upstairs bedroom. I would book here again.

Great Place
Only recommendation would be to add blinds to the windows by the dining table. The afternoon sun was very bright and blinding when sitting at the table facing the windows.

Great Spot tucked away in the mountains
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The home was very clean and the kitchen appliances were brand new. The beds were very comfortable and they had so many warm and cozy blankets scattered around the home. The deck was huge and had a great view of the quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The only downfall of this place were the large gaps between the spindles in the loft and stairwell where we had to carefully watch our niece around. Definitely will return to this home for another stay in the future.

we had a great time
Everything was as expected, and ready for us when we arrived. The location was great, the house was spacious, equiped with everything we needed. We had a wonderful weekend. A couple of suggestions: the beds/mattresses need an upgrade, the water temperature in the downstairs bathroom was very uneven (hot/cold), the hot water kettle in the kitchen needs a replacement.
Overall a great place to stay, we would go back.

Fun Times!!
The house is lovely. Well-maintained. Big beautiful deck that has sun exposure the whole day. The bedrooms are large and the whole house is well-maintained. Not fancy by any means but perfect for hanging out and enjoying the Tahoe experience. We felt well taken care of.

Do Not Stay Here
We rented this house for ski week. The location is great — far enough off 267 that you can't hear the highway, but convenient. Just minutes from Kings Beach and a short distance from Truckee. The other houses and condo buildings in the neighborhood seemed nice from the outside. The house is non-smoking, but as soon as we opened the front door, it smelled like smokers had been there. Maybe they didn't smoke in the house, but the scent was prominent. The linens in the second bedroom smelled like smoke and my 3-year-old child's hair smelled like it after sleeping in there. Made me wonder if they'd be washed. Yuck. The decor is very 1970s. The bathrooms are all original. Lots of macrame and latch hook rug wall hangings. Worn-out carpets covered with cheap synthetic runners and area rugs. All the windows are original. The window coverings are either peeling off or a plastic eyesore. There's ancient, bulky sound system equipment taking up real estate in the living room. Boom box on top of the refrigerator. The TV has been updated to a flat screen fortunately. And the kitchen appliances got refreshed somewhere in the last decade or two. The water from the refrigerator filter tasted nasty, though. Better off with tap water. There was no small towel or sponge to wash dishes. I found a bunch of used sponges under the sink, but didn't know if they'd be used by housecleaning with harsh chemicals or what. Sponges harbor so much bacteria and need to be sterilized. Usually rental properties provide you with a brand-new wrapped sponge when you check in. Not here. The beds in the master and third bedroom were painfully uncomfortable. There's a piece of wood between the mattresses in the master for support and some sort of ancient foam topper on the mattress. The mattress sags in the middle, so my husband and I kept sliding into each other the first night. Miserable. The pillows in every bedroom are all flat too and should be replaced. The second night I tried to sleep downstairs so I could hear my kids better (one broke his leg, one is only 3 years old), and it was a nightmare trying to scrunch up on a loveseat (I'm only 5'4"). The other loveseat and couch make too much noise to lay on or even sit to watch a movie. I accidentally sat on two cushions of the craftsman style couch (instead of in the middle of one cushion) and hurt my butt on the wooden frame below. Before we checked in, the property m...

A cozy and convenient place
We had a great time staying here. The location is good, 10 minutes away from NorthStar resort. It is also close to a Safeway.
The owner makes us feel welcomed, left us a welcome card, and showed the weather of the days we are staying. The dishwasher was broken, but the owner proactively sent us a note before we checked in, and even gave us some credit. We were very satisfied and had great time spending the new year holiday here.
