About this cottage rental

New one-bedroom, year-round, Guest Cottage on the shore of Flanders Bay looking directly across to Acadia National Park's Cadillac Mountain and the shoreline of Flanders Bay. This waterfront cottage affords easy access to kayaking, shore front walks, and bird watching. Within 10 miles of Schoodic Point, the quiet side of Acadia National Park, visitors will find hiking and biking trails and exquisite seashore vistas. Washing machine and dryer, counter top stove and convection oven, WiFi, TV with an HDMI port for a Roku type device., outdoor gas grill. Perfect location for day-trips to Bar Harbor, hiking and nature trails at the many near-by land conservancies and local fresh water swimming and fishing. Most of these attractions are within 10 miles.

This cottage is fully furnished, with granite kitchen counters, glass-top electric stove, microwave/convection oven, drip coffee maker. The cottage is fully equipped for cooking and dining. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the bathroom has a walk-in shower and washing machine and dryer. All bed and bath linens are provided. The cottage is equipped with a TV with an HDMI port for your ROKU type device, internet, and an outdoor gas grill.

Please note the homeowner lives on the site in a completely separate home. The garage attached to the cottage is shared space used by the homeowner during the summer for gardening and landscape projects/activities.

What an amazing cottage, beautiful scenery very quiet, loved sitting by the water watching the seagulls as the tide went in and out! The hosts Bonnie & Hugo so nice and there if we needed anything! Even though they live in a house on the grounds the cottage is you would not know it, they did not intrude or come over unless we needed assistance! This was our first trip to Maine and lived it there. Bar Harbor was nice but actually where we stayed at cottage was prettier and we went to Schoodic Park more it is so close to the cottage we stayed at! If we ever go back to Maine we would definitely go back to Cottage! Thank you Bonnie & Hugo

We were very comfortable and enjoyed being close to the ocean. The cottage was spotless when we arrived. We needed beach towels and a tea strainer, and Bonnie brought those over without delay. Hugo’s painting s make the space lively and warm.

This place is fabulous. The accommodations are outstanding and so are the hosts. It’s a beautiful, modern cottage inside and just enough Maine rustic on the outside. Spectacular views of Acadia. Very quiet and private. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The location is close to Schoodic, a wonderful part of Acadia NP. I would return any time. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

This was our fourth stay at Bonnie's cottage. We have stayed here for two weeks in each of the past three years, plus this year. Our focus is on paddling and hiking. There are numerous opportunities for such activities both within Acadia National Park and outside the park per se. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable in both hot and cold weather, and is exceedingly clean, with a great water view. It is true to the description and pictures in the VRBO listing. The hosts are very attentive and eager to assist, but never intrude.

We enjoyed our stay in Sullivan very much. We own property nearby in Gouldsboro and the cottage made our commute very easy, and made exploring Schoodic and the northern parts of Downeast Maine very easy, as well as accessing ANP. We would very much consider staying with them again in the future.

Bonnie and Hugo offering their cottage for our 40th Anniversary was the icing on the cake! What a delightful area, quiet, breathtaking views even in the rain. Traveling to this area you cannot miss viewing and exploring Schoodic Point. They offered excellent dining options and things to do. The cottage is exactly as described and maybe even better. Highly recommend!!! Thanks Bonnie and Hugo, we will return.

Been on the shoreline of Flanders Bay, looking over to Cadillac Mountain, watching the tide move in and out, nothing could be more appropriate for a Maine vacation for out-of-state travelers. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very spacious for two people, and had everything you needed. Bonnie and Hugo were so nice! Can’t say enough good things about this place!

The reviews and the listing are very accurate with this property. During our stay it rained quite a bit but the house was so cozy and had plenty of space for us to enjoy and the view is quintessential Maine. The location of this property is perfect for getting to Acadia and to other less popular locations. The owners are so welcoming and give plenty of privacy but also available to assist with any questions. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

You couldn't find a nicer property. Close to Schoodic section of the park. So much quieter than Mt Desert side of park . If you get a chance visit Quoddy point lighthouse.

This wonderful cottage has everything needed for an enjoyable, relaxing vacation. Full kitchen with all items needed. A nice living area with beautiful views. Full service bathroom with linens. Bedroom with storage. Owners on site without being intrusive. It's like we had our own tiny home in a spectacular setting.

This cottage was in a lovely location on Flanders Bay. The property was beautiful. The cottage was spacious, yet cozy... very clean with everything we needed to cook and grill. Location was perfect to get to all parts of Acadia. Our hosts were very responsive. Great WiFi and comfortable bed.

The views of Flanders Bay waterfront were spectacular and dynamic. The cottage was Very well stocked with everything one would need. Great wifi and tv service. Spacious, no one should feel crowded. Owner was very accessible and responsive. We would stay there again. The Schoodic Peninsula is very picturesque. The small towns there have great restaurants.

This is our third two-week stay at Bonnie and Hugo's wonderful cottage. Previously we stayed in mid July, but this year we were here in early May. July was great for summer activities including hikes and paddling. May was ideal for hiking and also easier access to Acadia National Park when it is not overly packed with tourists. The cottage was very comfortable and sound, with heat for the cooler days and air conditioning for hot and humid times. Usually there is a comfortable afternoon sea breeze off of the water. The cottage and amenities are as described in the listing. It is very clean and well maintained, with a wonderful view across Frenchman Bay to Mt. Cadillac. Bonnie and Hugo are excellent hosts.

Make sure to eat at Tracey’s where they have awesome prices on lobster rolls and ice cream. The Sparks are awesome hosts. We felt welcome and right at home in the cottage. We had an awesome, blessed week at Bonnie and Hugo's cottage. It was everything as advertised and much more. The cottage was one of the nicest we have stayed in and the views were nice, also. We did a lot of exploring from there. We went North, South, East (Schoodic) and West! We enjoyed our conversations with Bonnie and Hugo and had a fun tour of Hugo's studio. We are looking forward to visiting them again.

Bonnie and Hugo have a beautiful and clean cottage with scenic views of Cadillac mountain in the distance. We spent our vacation exploring the area. The cottage was an easy central location to travel from. The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and the wifi internet is capable of streaming. Bonnie and Hugo were very knowledgeable of the area, and could easily be contacted for questions. We are already thinking about planning our next stay!

We had a lovely time staying in Bonnie and Hugo's cottage. It had all the comforts of home and wonderful artwork throughout. The view from the front windows cannot be beat. It was a pleasure to wake up to views of Cadillac Mountain each morning. We saw tons of wildlife right outside the cottage including eagles, seabirds, a puffin wildly flying past, and even a seal right after the rain. Great location very convenient to the Schoodic Peninsula and a short drive to town, Acadia proper, and Bar Harbor. Bonnie and Hugo were gracious hosts and their recommendations on trails in the area were top notch!

Our second time staying at Bonnie and Hugo's cottage in Sullivan, ME was just as perfect as the first time. Their exceptionally clean and comfortable cottage with wonderful water view did not disappoint. Once again we enjoyed the area walking/hiking trails, inland lakes, and sea coast. The wifi internet connection at the cottage is flawless, and a ROKU streaming device controls the TV. The hosts are always helpful, and they have our thanks.
