The property was fantastic. The sunroom and deck were perfect for seal and bald eagle watching. Highly recommend.

This property was great for a large group. Plenty of room. We enjoyed kayaking on the bay and going down the road to Tracy’s for delicious food

The house was perfect for our mini family reunion of 12. Three kids ages 7-9 stayed in the loft and loved having their own fort area. We spent two days taking the kayaks out to the small islands across the bay, which were stunning and we were ecstatic to see both seals and dolphins in the Bay! Very nice accommodations, with lots of unexpected extras like a Wii (which the two teenagers loved) and kid toys. The screened in porch was my favorite, avoiding the dusk mosquitos but still outdoors enjoying the ocean and breeze. Highly recommend!!

Our family of seven marveled every day at the beautiful vistas from this spacious, comfortable, wonderful home. The area around the properly is very peaceful. We loved being able to kayak right from the front of the house and watch for wildlife. We saw bald eagles and even a couple seals far out in the water. The property manager and owner were very accommodating when we arrived and the pack and play for infant sleeping was discovered to be missing. They got one delivered right away! We immensely enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone!

Great property great location great vacation.
Are multi generational family of eight enjoyed our stay at this property very much.
the house has been delightfully well-kept and perfectly furnished with everything that we could imagine.
we were able to kayak some in the bay and we had easy access to nearby restaurants and some days at Acadia national park. Some great memories were made this week.

Great waterfront location that allowed for easy access to Acadia and Schoodic Point. Our kids had a blast by the water and hanging out in the loft. Would 100% rent again.

Stayed Sunday to Saturday. Nine adults, very comfortable. Was worried about having no A/C but the owner supplied plenty of tower fans and we were very comfortable. Constant breeze off bay. Kayaks made the trip! (fyi-plenty of life jackets). We spent hours kayaking and saw so many seals, porpoise, bald eagles, and other birds. At low tide we could kayak straight across to a tiny island and explore. Big yard to play cornhole and spike ball (we brought those with us). Boys played supplied Wii games. Wooden whale statue in yard made for nice family photo. Amazing views from every room! Acadia and Bar Harbor were close enough for us to go enjoy. Recommend Stewman’s and Testa for dinner - both excellent. Route 66 Restaurant - skip!!! Great road-side lunch can be found at Acadia Lobster & BBQ Company. We cooked half the time at the house; the kitchen was well stocked and we found everything we needed and then some. Would definitely go again but would make sure our friends rented sister property right next door. Three tips: bring water shoes (shores very rocky); body bug spray (came in handy at least twice during week); sunblock (especially on legs kayaking).

The property was beautiful and was perfect for our family of 11. The screen in porch which over-look the bay was one of our favorite features of the house...although the two children in our party would argue that the loft room was their favorite. The house had everything you needed to be comfortable. The location to downtown Bay Harbor was a 40 minute ride away. I would highly recommend this property.

Great location. Well stocked. Loved the stay. Only downside was no AC. Thankfully it was cool during our stay, so not an issue.

Perfect setting, breathtaking views
This was possibly the best rental property I and my family have ever stayed in. The house sits just up from the shoreline, with views from the living room to Bar Harbor and the islands in-between. The setting is peaceful and heavenly. We saw seals, a Minke whale, and several bald eagles, in addition to the usual shore life of crabs and sea birds.
The house itself is well-appointed. The beds were comfortable and the views from the windows were stunning. My tween kids did not find the sofa-beds in the loft to be comfortable, however, so they ended up sleeping on the couch on the ground floor. The kitchen was quite functional and met all of our cooking needs.
We made use of the kayaks (and there are lifejackets), the firepit, the swings, the grill, and the back deck. Note that the other rental on the property also has access to these amenities. We had to do some negotiating for the use of the kayaks with the other renters, which was a bit awkward.
The house sits about a forty-five minute drive from Bar Harbor, but part of Acadia National Park sits in the same side of the harbor as the house. We went hiking every day, both in Acadia as well as state and regional parks just minutes from the house.
The house is especially perfect for families with small children. Although my kids are older, we noticed all of the amenities for infants and toddler, and there were stair gates everywhere (but not in the way at all), as well as cupboard locks.
We typically travel once a year for a week somewhere new with close friends and rent a house together. When we concluded our trip, we agreed that this house and location topped our experience to date. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Great views, comfortable house
Our family of 8 adults and one teenager had a delightful stay in this house. We saw deer, a bald eagle, and even seals through the window while relaxing in the living room or on the porch. There is enough space to not feel crowded, and enough amenities to not end up bored during a rainy afternoon.
Really glad we stayed here!

Fall in Acadia
We stayed at this property with a group of friends and found it clean, well stocked, and very cofortable. The location was perfect for our group, private but not far from Bar Harbour and Acadia. We especially enjoyed morning coffee looking over the bay and fires in the evening. We definitely recommend this property and will not hesitate to stay here in the future.

Beautiful home!!
We loved our stay here! The house is beautiful, it was clean and had almost everything we needed. Not to mention, the view was everything!!
I rated a 4 star because of a few things...First, the master room was BRIGHT when the sun came up every morning. The blinds are thin and there are a couple big windows without blinds. Also, the master shower has no shower head so taking showers in there was not as pleasant as it should be. There were other little things like no closet to hang clothing in master bedroom, no Kleenex in bathrooms, no trash bags, and messy/unorganized kitchen cabinets and drawers. I am being particular because of the price of this vacation rental.
With a few minor updates and fixes, I would highly recommend this house!

Beautiful Home
This home was perfect for our family. It had so much space to spread out and great areas for us to be together. One down fall would be that there is no air conditioners, our week was hot and muggy. Other than that we had a fantastic time.

Fabulous family vacation
This was a fantastic waterfront property with plenty to do onsite, around the Schoodic peninsula and on MDI for the entire family. Our group ranged from 6 to 75 years of age and we had a blast swimming, kayaking, sitting on the deck, cooking and playing Ms PAC Man on the arcade game downstairs. The kids loved sleeping in the loft. We would absolutely visit and stay at this property again.

Great property-maybe a little far from Bar Harbor and Acadia, but otherwise enjoyed the area thoroughly

Best equipped beautiful home great location!!
Everything was absolutely beautiful! We have rented numerous homes and I must say this was the best equipped home we have stayed. Most important the views are fantastic. We had an eagle nesting in tree nearby and a seal on top of large rock in the bay during our visit. Our family used the numerous kayaks as well as the bingo and other games and toys at the home. When we first booked for our family of 10 some were concerned that we may be too far from Bar Harbor. It was a perfect drive to Arcadia national park and to Bar Harbor. Visiting in busy mid July we were so glad to return to the quiet of this beautiful home. We only wish we had additional time. Highly recommend driving to Chipmans in Millbridge for lobster and seafood.

A little misleading but nice house
The house was quiet and nice yard.we lost water 1x but according to book at house it would be from overuse but we had been gone all day and came back and 1 person went to take a shower.we were able to reset it somewhat according to directions but the code that came up on pump said no ground fault detected.sounds like maybe an electrical problem as opposed to a water use one but we are not ekectricians.overall house was beautiful and nice setting.there was a rule to please strip beds and wash sheets before leave but check out was 10 am so we weren't able to do that.

Peaceful location close to Acadia
The property is a great space that's very close to Acadia. We absolutely loved the tree swing outside, and the beautiful views we had! We were even fortunate enough to catch some deer frolicking right nearby in the early morning! The only thing that we were not impressed by was the cleanliness. We found a few dirty cups and dishes in the cupboards, and a few partially filled glasses around the house.

We greatly enjoyed this amazing house over our romantic weekend in Maine. The house has everything you need and more! The kayaks, grill, fire pit are great. 1 million dollars view of the bay. Gorgeous home
We enjoyed staying at this gorgeous home as we explored a part of Acadia we had never been to before. The waterfront was gorgeous and we enjoyed the kayaks and exploring the water. We spent our evenings on the back deck and patio, and enjoyed star-gazing at night. The kitchen was very well stocked so we could prepare a range of meals. Would love to return!

Nature wonderland
This is a beautifull property. Right on front of the bay. The nature is incredibly beautifull. The surroundings..nothing short of perfect.
The loft, kayak and pacman game were all bonusses who took our family vacation over the top! The town otself doesnt have much to do..but that was ok for us. We had plenty to do at the house. And when wanted to visit bar harbor..it was a 45 minute beautifull drive. All in all...a very memorable experience.

Amazing home with an incredible view!
We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely home on Flander's Bay!
The home was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! Looking out over the water from the deck was so relaxing. The home provided kayaks which we took out into the bay and we were alone with the ducks and geese. So peaceful! What a beautiful area! Thank you for thinking of every detail. We hope to be back someday!!

Family vacation to Bar Harbor
We loved the location and the amenities on the property. It is a bit of a drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia but we did not mind. It was nice to come back to a quiet peaceful place. You have to do a little pre-planning for meals at home as there are no nearby grocery stores. Again we did not mind that either as the location of the property is spectacular. We highly recommend this place.

If your idea of a relaxing Maine coast vacation is a beautiful property where you can hang out and read and watch the tide come in and out, this place is perfect.

June visit
The property was well kept.
Bring your own fly swatters as there were none on site and the mosquitoes and bugs were very friendly.
We never did figure out all the light switches. Some did something and others did not.
One crank on the 2nd from left window had stripped gears and needs to be replaced..
40 to 50 minute drive to Acadia NP and not really close to anything.

Nice House with Great Views - A Few Issues Upon Arrival
The Flanders Bay home is a nice house that can accommodate a large group. The house is fully stocked with the exception of blankets. Bring you own if it is chilly weather.
I do have a few complaints about my group's experience. Prior to arrival I called the number on the check-in instructions to ask how many separate beds would be at the property. Joe answered, and I found him to be very rude. Upon arrival, the cleaner had just begun, and we had to spend a few hours in a neighboring town before we could come back to the house. I contacted Crystal and she was very apologetic. Crystal was prompt and courteous in all my communication with her. The last gripe that I have is that the grass was about a foot tall around the property, this made any activities in the yard nearly impossible.
Compared to other rentals in the same price range where I have stayed, I rate this one average.
Manager's Response:
Nicholas, thank you for your review. The owners of this property, Joseph and Crystal, have asked us to pass along the following response:
"We are so sorry that you felt that way. We own three different properties, so when you called, we double checked which property you were renting to make sure we were giving you the correct information. We're sorry if that came across as rude, as that was entirely not our intention. We do provide extra linens for more than enough beds. There are blankets on all the beds, extra blankets in the closet, and blankets on the furniture for chilly nights. There is also heating throughout the house, a fireplace upstairs and an electric fireplace downstairs, to ensure guests are never cold. This year we've had a record amount of rain, which is why the grass is somewhat overgrown. The grass is usually mowed weekly, however, with the rain, we were unable to mow prior to your stay. We take great pride in keeping our home a wonderful place to share."
Best, the Evolve Team
