If you’re wanting to be centrally located for exploring the central coast, and you appreciate outstanding views including surfers and sunsets, this cozy secluded 3-level home might be for you. There are some caveats though: the entry way is challenging and a bit steep, the inside stairs are also steep and need to be used a lot since bedrooms, main bathroom, and living area are all on different floors. Younger, more agile folks probably wouldn’t mind. I ended up loving this home, and all the thoughtful interior details, despite the slight inconveniences.

Great stay! Lovely view, clean and comfortable. Parking is tight; access to the beach requires caution..and sure footedness..but also fun to watch the surfers and whales from the deck.
The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped.
There is a nice bathroom downstairs with a tub but it does not have a shower.
The house is not new but well maintained.
I gave it a 4 on cleanliness as I felt there were a few things that could benefit from some additional attention e.g. the jets in the tub downstairs..but nothing that made us feel uncomfortable.
We look forward to returning.
Thanks to owner and staff who made it a great stay!

We have stayed at this beach house four times over sixteen years. It never disappoints. It’s exactly as advertised and we hope to be back.

3rd summer staying here. Location, location, location for anyone who wants to walk a wooded path , down rustic steps to a beautiful sandy beach. Great place to walk, run, boogie board, surf or simply watch the ocean sunset.

Rustic, private, yet steps from the beach, this spot exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for a 5-star resort to be pampered, this is not it. If you're looking to escape to spectacular views, relaxing privacy, and easy beach access, well, you have found it. The pictures are nice, but somehow do not do this place justice. House is clean, has everything you need to cook and do laundry, and tucked away between Lincoln City and Newport. Parking is a challenge, and you might think you are lost when you first find the road. But trust your GPS and you'll be fine. I hope to come back here someday!

This place is tucked away which provides privacy and a warm cozy feeling. The house has great views and everything you need for a weekend or longer stay. The trail/stairs to the beach is fairly easy to navigate. This was the perfect pick for our beach weekend getaway!

My mother and I stayed at this property a year ago and loved it, so this year my brothers and I did the same. It was just as lovely as remembered! The beach access and proximity to The Devil’s Punchbowl is an added bonus.

We’ve been coming to this house for 3 years straight. Great location with an epic view.

This place is one of the best locations I’ve stayed. I had no idea about Otter Rock before booking. Views are incredible and the beach was my favorite across all of OR. Home is cozy, comfortable and actually has the array of kitchen items one needs to cook. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Walk down to the beach is fun and we all wish we could have stayed longer to spend some time in the water.

We had a great summer trip to Otter Rock! The house was just as described and had everything we needed. The location was amazing- great views and beach access. The boys rented surf boards from the nearby shop and had a great time surfing just down from the house a bit. Close to Newport for restaurants or groceries.

This is our third stay at this beach house and we’ll be back again next year! We love the location - beautiful views of the ocean below, access to the beach by a trail at the end of the road… amazing!

The views from this house are amazing! Great communication from host.
Only down side are the stairs! Property address could be better marked too, it was a little confusing at first to find it. So worth it though!

This charming little house is the perfect spot to spend time on the gorgeous Oregon coast. We enjoyed watching the waves from the patio, walking down to the local coffee spot and onto the beach every morning. Owner was responsive and the house had everything we needed.
Would definitely rent again.

Felt right at home in this gem hidden in Otter Rock, down the beach from the Devils Punchbowl. Had three separate levels to explore, and plenty of space to accommodate larger groups of people. The views alone made it more than worthwhile; the ocean reminding us of the dichotomous nature of life itself, with its ebbs and flows, perpetual departure and eternal return.

The house was perfect, exactly as shown in the listing. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunset both evenings we were there. The quick access to the beach was great for our dog. We will definitely be back.

When we found it we were surprised. It was an adventure. We were hesitant to drive down a narrow single track road so my wife walked down to see if she could find it. The parking is steep, and it’s a climb to the house. We had been traveling for three weeks so we had a lot of stuff to haul in. There are four levels and lots of stairs. It is not as clean as some, but it’s a beach house for surfers and allows dogs. Very small rooms. When we first arrived we were iffy about it. We fell in love! The views from the deck will hold you all day long. The beach access is a lovely walk down the road and down a path. The beach is perfect for long walks or playing in the sand. The beds and bedding are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a nice fireplace. We didn’t bring any wood so we didn’t use it. We do hope to return for a longer stay.

Superb location, wonderful views. Found our way down to the beach which was beautiful - directions in the house would have been useful. We had a couple of issues (could not get TV to work, temporary fault with door lock), owner responded quickly and helpfully.
Property itself was comfortable & well equipped but not very well cleaned (dust and cobwebs in places) - maybe it had not been occupied recently. We had a very enjoyable stay and would go back again.

The views from the deck absolutely cannot be beat. The house itself had great charm - almost a cabin on the ocean vibe. The house is very well stocked with all you would ever need! The path to the beach was indeed challenging due to recent runoff. Additionally, parking was pretty limited. All in all, a great place! We hope to return!

If you’re looking for a place with an incredible view this is the place!!! A nice secluded beach that has easy access just a 1/4mile down the road at a small state park . The place is a little dated as other reviews have mentioned, but I found it perfect for us and our small dog lots of room on three levels I would highly recommend this place it had eiyou need including wet suit if you so inclined to join the surfers out there we decided to just watch 🤗 Their is a trail to the beach but only if you are sure footed otherwise take to the state park. I found the place charming and you can’t get a better view!!!!

Excellent place to stay, relax, and watch the ocean. Very quiet, good amenities, and a nice spot to go for walks.

The views from this property were breathtaking. We very much enjoyed exploring the beach. A lot of the reviews mention sketchy path to beach which is actually not to bad for anybody that can handle a few steps holding onto a rope. Were were expecting way harder access that it actually was. The house is outdated but gives you a great beach cabin feel. We very much enjoyed and would love to stay again if we are ever in the area. Definitely recommend.

The house was perfect! The kids loved it and the walk to the beach was so easy and short! We will stay here again for sure!

Place was what a beach house is! Right on the beach and view was amazing!!! Lol sketchy getting to beach but not impossible and once you navigate it well, it was a breeze! Only glitch was pretty hard to get host to respond back in a timely fashion if you had questions, but in his defense he was out of country. Would stay again!

Wonderful place. Perfect for the rainy days. Beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. Access to beach is a bit dicey for people who are not sure footed but I know Tom works on trying to keep on top of it.. Maybe some new rope that extends the whole way down? There are steps to the beach down at the Boiler Bay wayside which is about a 10 minute walk from house.
Directions to the path might be good too. No trespassing sign left me wondering but I figured it was for outsiders? Also, dog deposit amount was not clear on VRBO or at least to me. Would not hesitate to return.

Overall this location is a beautiful relaxing site. From the ocean noises to the easy access to whale watching towns and parks, this was a great pick for an Anniversary celebration.
The sunsets were amazing.
It will not be handicap friendly as there are several stair cases to maneuver. One bed was not comfortable, but since their are 2 other rooms, we were able to adjust.

Love this vacation house. It was clean and had everything we needed. Wifi worked great, as I did need to do some remote work. The view from the deck is beautiful. Enjoyed sitting out and having my morning coffee. My husband, dogs, and I did not have any trouble getting down the path to the beach; however, it would be hard for someone who has difficulties walking/climbing steep inclines. It was only steep at the bottom of the trail to get onto the beach, using a rope to guide down. I loved having the trees around the house as well, the property is secluded and very peaceful. The deck on the back of the house has a beautiful view of the ocean and was nice to sit on when it was windy. Loved that there was a hose outside to clean the sand off the dogs and ourselves. We will definitely rent this property again next time we vacation in Oregon.
