A clean basic room with quite a big bathroom. Great breakfast and food and drinks in bar were good and reasonably priced. Good car park and great location for the motorway.
Decor starting to look a little scruffy and dated in places.

In the hot weather the receptionist offered an alternative cooler room. It was excellent and quiet.

Good value for money. Evening meal was good

Location good for car drivers, Breakfast, good well cooked large selection of food, lovely grounds, Very good carpark, bed was comfortable, towels nice and soft, friendly, Staff friendly & helpful
Our room a little "tired" in places
We booked a "Superior" Double Room.
Which we were a little disappointed with.
On arrival to the room,
1. We had to ask for the damaged chair to be replaced.
2.The Tea making facilities, had only 3 teabags and insufficient milk
3. There were no Toiletries in the Bathroom.
4. There was a huge crack in the bath panel,
5.The Toilet roll holder was missing ( toilet rolls placed on the shelf.
6. Everytime we opened the Bathroom door there was a loud bang from the light panel in the ceiling.
7. The Room door would not close securely, had to pull it shut each time.
8. External & Internal door handles loose.
9. I wonder if there had been pets in the room as I noticed what looked like dog hairs on my slippers.

Pluses:
- Bright, welcoming reception, manned 24 hours so no problem with arriving alone, late at night.
When I thought my room door didn't seem to lock, the helpful lady from reception came all the way up to my room to show me how it locked (top tip - don't use what looks like twist lock on inside of door-handle). Also showed me to a room where I could iron my outfit for a wedding the following day. Really kind and helpful.
- Clean, comfortable single bed - why have enormous double sheets to be washed after a one night stay? Not very eco-friendly. Almost nowhere offers a single bed option. Perfectly adequate.
- A window that opened properly - a true rarity in any hotel these days. I may indeed throw myself from it, but why have no opening windows, denying fresh air to all, in case one person is feeling suicidal? Utter nonsense.
- The means to make two cups of tea in my room and a perfectly adequate and clean en-suite.
All for £49.50. Proper bargain.
Internal corridors were a bit tired and pillows a little musty, but these are small things for the price paid.
Lack of decent lighting to do make-up but
frankly, I've stayed in £200/night hotels which fail in this department. Moody lighting is all very well but a well-lit mirror is a marvel rare to find.

Basic and dated room.

Excellent condition and comfort of the hotel had to dash early so was not able to try the breakfast.
Nothing absolutely no complaints
5.0
Location and breakfast and spacious around the breakfast area 👍
There was a damp smell soon as we entered into our room and noticeable damp on the ceiling bedroom just by the entrance of the bathroom unfortunately, mattress was too hard to sleep on too firm sorry but other than that a good size room generally.

The bed was very comfy
The shower. The fact you could not pull it off the wall 😪

Was given an upgrade - Hotel reception / staff exceptionally helpful and polite.
8.0
the room was bright and airy and the breakfast was excellent
the food in the restaurant was limited and a bit over priced.
8.0
The food was really good, nicely presented on the plate, tasty and hot. All the staff were polite and helpful including the housekeeping. Parking from free to hotel guests.
The price of drinks seems a little expensive, but I am out of touch with prices compared to where I live in Norfolk.
The hotel guide was a little out of date in some areas. Particularly the availability and menu options for the Palm restaurant. What seemed to be a little odd to me was that the main restaurant in the evening for fine dining was only available to apprentice students. They themselves though were polite, quiet and well behaved the time we were there.

Great location for our visit, clean and comfortable
Prices of the evening meal, which had a limited menu.
No evening meal available on the Friday night at all.
Radiators didn't give much heat so used an electric oil heater that was in the room.
9.0
Staff were very friendly, the cleanliness was excellent. Goid breakfast.
Could do with some modernising overall, kettle had a broken lid that could have been dangerous.
4.0
Comfortable bed
No evening meal available as function rooms booked to to private parties, this was not advised in advance of my stay, sandwiches only offered until 5.30 so late check-ins went without, referred to local chinese who had closed town, had to drive 2 miles for take away.
Room cold and no thermostatic rad valve, was given portable heather with no PAT sticker.
Mould on underside of soap dis over bath.
Chairs in restaurant when I had breakfast dirty/ stained could be steam cleaned
BAcon was under hot light too long so was brittle
Wish I had read previous reviews and would have avoided the place like the plague, unloved, outdated and worn seems to be the tread all the way through negative and low scoring reviews despite saying in October reply to review were undertaking painting.
