We were up in Topton for a wedding. The house was perfect. The views were amazing. Oscar wss very quick to respond to any questions that we had.

The home is gorgeous and well equipped for any need imaginable. The setting is dream like, very private on a large wooded lot and a short walk to lake access, dock and beautiful Nantahala Lake. We had daily provisions with us so we didn’t really need to leave the property and were content to enjoy the immediate surroundings. However, the area has much to offer from previous visits in hiking, rafting, scenic drives and waterfall viewing. Host was accessible to answer any questions. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Beautiful cabin with a wonderful furnished deck. The views were spectacular and the cabin was just as described. The communication with the host was very good. We had our family with us and had plenty of room.
Our only concern was the location is not convenient to go back and forth to activities. Everything is about 45 minutes away with intense driving. The neighborhood roads are gravel and please do not follow your GPS up the exit. (my mustang ended up on the side of the road) there are signs telling you it is the exit....please pay attention to this.
We would definitely stay here again but leave my mustang at home and be prepared to spend more time in the house enjoying all of the beauty found right there.

Lovely house in a wooded environment. Clean. Roomy. Quiet. Everything was in good working condition. There is fast WiFi for the internet addicts and DirectTV for the TV addicts. There are bear-related decorations everywhere. There are several taxidermied antelope and deer heads mounted on the living room walls. Some people might be put off by that. We enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the hummingbirds that came to the feeders hanging from the deck railings after we filled them. Before we filled them, they were coming to the empty feeders and getting frustrated. The only drawback of this house that I can think of is that to reach it, you have to drive on 1.8 miles of sometimes steep and curvy dirt roads that are 1 to 1 1/2 lanes wide. Fortunately we never encountered opposing traffic during our several trips in and out. If we had, someone would have had to back up (if it was a 1 lane section) or carefully squeeze by (if it was a 1 1/2 lane section). The plus side of this remoteness is that there is very little traffic which makes the roads in this gated community nice for walking although some sections are pretty steep, as is the walk back up from the community dock down by the lake. Good exercise.

Great cabin and beautiful location. The lake is awesome. Mountain roads are slow going the last few miles to the cabin, but worth it once you get there.

Greatest Of All Time
(Written by my 10 year old son)
It was amazing everything was so clean. They had everything from a toaster oven to a pull out bed. The community dock was so big and water was so deep and cool. The overall view was so beautiful you couldn’t believe how breathtaking the view was. You need to go there but not before we come back for more.

Great property for family..lovely views of mountain and lake. Deer and other interesting wildlife could be viewed from the wrap around deck. Owner was very nice and accommodating. Great stay!

Beautiful, well appointed cabin close to Nantahala Outdoor Center. Very quiet area. We were there in November so the lake activities and restaurant were closed. But we found beautiful hiking trails within 15 miles. Internet is sketchy but we had games to play and had fun and s’mores by the fire pit.

We enjoyed our stay as it was a beautiful home in the quiet mountains of western NC. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching as the hummingbirds would come to the feeders. There is some great hiking in the area and we even rented a boat at the marina for an afternoon. The only downside was the time it took to drive from the house to get into the closest small town. We had to plan ahead and combine trips, so we didn't have to spend so much time driving back and forth from the house.

Will definitely rent “Bearadise” again in the near future.

Beautiful clean home in a beautiful lake community
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bearadise. The house was super clean and provided everything our family needed to cook our meals there, sleep peacefully and just enjoy the mountains. The local town had a grocery and pharmacy for anything you may have forgotten. The drive up was fun. A few miles on gravel roads that are well maintained. Accessible by any suv or truck. We traveled to Nantahala’s Outdoor center. About. 45 min drive through beautiful country. Saw a few waterfalls in the way!

Be Ready To Hike
This property has everything you would look for in a rental. All appliances worked other than the ice cube dispenser. It made ice but we we removed the ice collected and poured the ice into a bowl. A matter of convenience. Be aware, this property is not for the faint hearted or those with ankle, knee and hip problems. Plenty of steps.

Secluded Lakehouse Hideaway
This was a great family getaway! Plenty of room in this super clean home with everything we needed right down to spices and aluminum foil! Private dock access to the lake was a plus, just a short walk or drive “around the corner”.
We wish it were a little closer to the NOC- 40 minutes- but manageable. Be ready to drive on gravel roads, but Corolla handled it well. If you plan on arriving at 4:30- bring dinner with you and settle in for the night- explore the next day! Lakes End restaurant highly recommended!
Oscar was always available! Answered every question promptly. Thanks again!

Beautiful cabin in the mountains
The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. It was stocked with everything you will need to cook and dine and everything was very clean. The lake and boat dock are walkable, all of the other area activities require driving. Oscar provided a lot of information on things to do and was very helpful and responsive. One thing I wish I had known/paid more attention to is that the last bit of the trek up the mountain is gravel and steep with some blind curves. Our car made it with no problem (June) but if there is any weather at all, I'd want 4WD. Also, there is no cell service so make sure your map is saved and know that the "shortest" way Google Maps will try to send you is a very steep trek up Vista Loop Rd. You don't have to turn here - keep going and the road will come back around to Vista Loop and the cabin is right there. It was a beautiful, peaceful place to unplug. We'd go back again!

outside not taken care of
The Cabin was Beautiful on the inside, however we could not enjoy any of the outside because of unkept property. Gras was very high and also hornets nest was all over the deck.

Wonderful weekend with family!
I was happy upon entering Bearadise to find it very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds very comfortable. A lovely mountain cabin and very relaxing. Although, we arrived safely, directions to cabin were challenging . I would definitely suggest arriving before dark, if not familiar with mountain driving. Oscar was attentive and checked in with us to see that things were going well. Great weekend! Loved every minute from bonfire outside to fireplace inside!

Beautiful Cabin
This cabin was a wonderful break away from our busy lives during the Holiday Season.
Pros: The cabin is cozy and comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked if you plan on cooking.
Cons: There is absolutely no cell service in the entire surrounding area - but the wifi at the cabin is good. I would definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
Oscar was a fabulous host! Very attentive and took care of everything we needed.

Great Place
Oscar’s place matches the online description. Plenty of space for a family to stay without being crammed. A ton of kitchen supplies and random baking and cooking ingredients like spices, etc. Make sure to follow his directions or else you’ll definitely get lost! Super communicative and easy to get a hold of. Thanks for letting us stay!

Incredible Thanksgiving!
Bearadise was exactly what me and my family wanted for our Thanksgiving vacation. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable, well equipped and clean. Oscar was always available for questions and suggestions about the house and area. The surrounding area was absolutely beautiful. My family are swimmers and we had great access to beautiful Natahala lake. Yes, it was freezing but my family couldn't pass it up! Too beautiful! We were able to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner in the ample sized kitchen and we all loved the silence and beauty of our hikes around the house and in the Natahala forest. Can't say enough how much we all loved it and how we felt we really got away from our busy lives and just enjoyed the lovely area.

Relaxing but a long distance from any town
Relaxing but a long distance from town. We absolutely love the place. Oscar was great to deal with. We had a hard time coming in late in the evening the very first night the gps took us to the wrong place but when we found it the place was wonderful the only thing everyone said in the group was no matter where we went we had a long drive coming back with a lot of switchbacks but it is beautiful. If you’re wanting to get away from everything that is the cabin to go to. We seen deer and turkey right in the front yard in the evenings. It would take us a while to get off the mountain with a lot of switchbacks and then a long drive back. If you have someone with you that is older it may not be the cabin for you because you have to climb the stairs to get into the cabin but we enjoyed it. We had children with us and Oscar was great about helping us find things to do that the children would love. He suggested Darnell Farms to go to the pumpkin patch it was awesome and a must if you go to Bryson City the children were able to pick their own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Everything we asked Oscar he was great about trying to find out all the information he could for us before we arrived. We have decided we like this area much better than Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with all the traffic and the hustle bustle. The cabin is very well-stocked with most everything you need just a suggestion we did not think about taking matches for the fire pit make sure you take matches with you when you go to start the fire. Thanks Oscar we enjoyed it

Good stay
Great house with nice facilities and very clean, highly recommend. Just beware spotty signal/wifi as is the area so be sure to print out/save offline directions for navigation nearby. Also the keypad for the community gate is not at the gate itself but rather 50ft or so behind it next to a rock - hard to see at night, be advised.

Great Cabin ... in the Mountains
Bearadise is a very well appointed and comfortable cabin. As some of the other posts have noted - it's a bit "out of the way" in a small lake-side community that is accessed via a gravel road. We had no issues getting to the cabin and the property owner provided us a map and quite a bit of information in advance. The property is very clean, neat and comfortable and could easily accommodate 6 - 8 people. Our trip was a just a weekend get-away and there were only "us 2". The lake is a short walk away and is beautiful. As I'm a fly-fisher, the cabin is relatively close to the Nantahala River. We enjoyed the privacy; wireless worked great. Again, as others have noted - we had zero cell-service, but it wasn't an issue - we just connected to the wireless and were good-to-go.

Beautiful cabin on steep hills
Communicating with Oscar was wonderful. The cabinet was extremely clean and worked out well for my husband our two kids my in-laws to stay in. We specifically chose this cabin because the stairs in it his cabin were safer than any we had seen in the Topton area. Though we did get stuck on the gravel road our second day getting to the cabin and driving at night is very scary in the area the views of the lake in the mountains are beautiful. It is a bit of a hike to get to the neighborhood dock I recommend going to the area marina also definitely add to your list renting a pontoon from the marina highlight of the trip. Again the cabin was wonderful huge laundry room grade bed set up in the living room and dining room with kitchen was wonderful only issue was scariness of driving up the road at night and how steep they were

Charming get away in the mountains
Very well equipped! A gem in the mountains with access (10min walk) to the lake; my kids loved the fishing/boating pier and I loved the quiet surroundings, away from the hustle of city life. The new mattresses are great to sleep on; my entire family agreed.

We rented this beautiful, clean cabin in the woods to stay with my elderly parents for my niece's wedding. We were not fully aware of the treacherous journey we would need to take to get to the cabin. There were about 40 hair pin turns up a single lane road that turned into a gravel road. We were given a map but since we are not from the area we weren't familiar with the territory. I made mention several times that we were traveling for a wedding and was never forewarned of the extremely remote location. Upon arrival, our breaks of our new truck smelled like they were burning. We got into the cabin and had no cell service or way to communicate with our family. We ended up staying 1 night out of 5 and had to leave and stay at the local Quality Inn. We lost our entire rental fee we paid as well as $400 on the food we purchased on the way into town. Had we known it was a death drive to get there, we would not have even considered the cabin especially for my 75 year old parents. It would have been merely impossible to travel to/from in the dark. If you plan to stay in this area, you need to plan to be back before sundown. This cabin is perfect if you are used to extreme remote locations and mountain vacations. The house has every amenity that you could possible imagine and was very clean and comfortable.

Family fun at the lake
My family had so much fun on the lake, water skiing, tubing. Lake Nantahala is absolutely beautiful. Our cabin was perfect, everything you need was there. Bring plenty of food, it’s a little far for shopping. I would highly recommend this cabin.

BEARADISE HOME AWAY FROM HOME
Bearadise is truly your home away from away. You have everything you would need, except for food and drinks. It's a very welcoming and comfortable house. The roads are a little rough at first, but you will get used to them. Oscar (owner), is great, very informative, and available to assist with suggestions and activities available nearby. He supplied us with an in-depth list of supermarkets, restaurants, and other places around the house. The view was als0 great, but I really wished I could see the lake from the house. Cannot wait to re-visit Bearadise again in the future.

I’ll start with the things we loved:- fire pit - big porch, swing, & views- quiet/ peaceful - laundry unit - well stocked kitchen- decorated/ theme very cuteThings we did not like:- the time it takes to get up the mountain to the house. It’s not awful, but I wish we really had an understanding that it takes about 25 minutes on very hard gravel roads. - The WiFi is much to be desired. We had people that needed to do work, but couldn’t submit assignments due to lack of wifi capability. Again, not a problem for most, but something I wish we would have known. Especially because there is NO service on the mountain… good wifi is necessary to communicate. - The beds are very uncomfortable. I know other reviewers have said the same, but I wanted to reiterate. We ranged from 25-55 and all ages agreed the beds are hard to sleep on. Again, not awful for one or two nights, but something you should keep in mind if you are looking to stay here for more than this. - Lack of toilet paper. I’m not sure if this was an oversight for our stay. But there was only one roll provided per bathroom (2). It either need to be explicitly stated when booking to bring your own toilet tissue, or the property needs to have more. It was especially inconvenient when you are up on a mountain and can’t just run to the store. Overall we did enjoyed it… but probably wouldn’t stay at this exact property again.

Things we did not like:

Cabin on the hill
It is highly recommended to get groceries as previously stated before arriving to the cabin unless you don’t mind driving about 9 miles to town. It’s not that 9 miles is bad, just know it takes awhile since it’s curvy mountain roads and unpaved road from cabin to main road. (Dry county) If you are coming from I40, be careful following navigation directions. Go through Andrews and not Old River Road. Think twice if going in the winter and snow in the forecast even if going in 4 wheel drive. The house is beautiful. It is very well equipped. The beds are VERY COMFORTABLE. There is a bedroom on main floor but a lot of stairs getting in. Wouldn’t recommend if you are physically disabled. Disappointed there wasn’t a view of lake but trees had bloomed and that is no reflection on host! We were hoping to be closer to the lake to walk to. Oscar (host) is quick to respond and very helpful giving directions to the cabin. Plan to take trash to dumpster on Saturday if you leave on Sunday. All trash must be removed from house before checkout. Overall this is a great cabin, well equipped , secluded and relaxing.

Graduation Trip Adventure
We had a great time together staying here at Bearadise! It was very roomie and well kept, only an hour from Bryson City and even closer to horseback riding, white water rafting, and ziplining. We had a blast at wineries, breweries, and some outdoor adventures all within an hour of here. Make sure you follow the check-in map and you'll be fine getting in, my Honda Accord got me up the mountain just fine! 10/10!

Great stay at Bearadise!
From the moment we checked in, we felt relaxed and at home. The cabin is amazingly stocked and has such a welcoming and cozy decor. We spent our time hiking, boating on the lake, day tripping to Dollywood, and much more. The location is very remote and town is pretty sleepy. I suggest you stock up on food and essentials before arriving. Overall, great stay! We will be back for sure!
