Bad experience

Very nice staff at the pool and in restaurants, nice view from the pool

worst check in ever, 1 hour in total, had to sign 5 different forms, traveling in honey moon, zero special attention from the hotel, not even a congratulation letter, they did not upgrade us while occupation of the hotel was at 50%, and they even put us in the worst room, ground floor with a view on a wall....had to complain to get a decent room, front desk staff has not been nice at all, in the room the AC not working properly, toilets not working properly, same with the fridge, if you call reception, room service or concierge they never answer...old hotel that would need to be renovated

- The hotel is nice, although it does not meet the requirements of a 5 stars hotel. - The staff is very nice for the most part, although there were exceptions of personal lack of professionalism. - The meals are well prepared in all the restaurants, although on the Grill the presentation of the dishes is very poor. - The outdoor areas of the hotel are beautiful, very well maintained and the vegetation is exceptional.

- The concierge of the block where my room was located is not a trained person for that position. She was not there the day we arrived (something that can happen in any personal situation), and the next day she was late so we couldn't make reservations for the restaurants we wanted, even though it was my wife's birthday. - Due to my medical condition, I asked her to put me in a bucket with ice, to which she promised and never complied. - When we arrived the first day the room had a huge leak in the ceiling and the floor was full of water, they came to repair it. - The room amenities do not meet the requirements of a hotel of that category. They do not have hair conditioners, something that is common even in the worst hotel in the United States. The first night we only had shampoo, after the second day they put some body wash. - The fridge in the room didn't even cool what was inside. They changed it on the second day. - Our room did not have a hair dryer. - That same night we found cockroaches in the sink (we have pictures). - One of the sinks was clogged (we have pictures). - All the maitres of the restaurants were pleasant and professional, with the exception of the one from the Mediterranean restaurant (Ventanas). - The check-in receptionist was very professional, but not the one who checked us out, who, during the check-out process, only asked us for the room number and gave us the ticket to leave the hotel. Normally, at any check-out, the guest is asked how their stay was, wishing them a happy stay and a happy trip back to their destination. That is an example of people not suitable for a position and lack of preparation. -

Would recommend with caveats and depending on what the person is looking for.

The food was definitely good and the beach at that location was nice and big. They also had cornhole and volleyball that guests could play at the resort. The drinks were easy to get and we never had a problem with beach chairs (although pool were harder to claim). They put on some fun events like a silent disco, Karaoke, a couple bands, etc. They were very accommodating to my sisters gluten allergy and helped with special requests like a birthday cake. If you want more of a younger club/party vibe this is not necessarily the place for you.

The service was not always the most accommodating (some people were great and others not so much). The rooms AC didn't seem to work well (although we tried to switch rooms other rooms seemed even worse, but we spoke to some guests who didn't have any issues with this). The average age at the resort was much older than me and my sisters which was a bit unexpected. They were lacking some more casual mexican food staples like tacos. The water in the bathtub of the room was a yellow/brown...the whole place was a bit outdated and could use some modernization.

had some issues on our second stay, also very rude gentleman during checkout who was calling his colleagues and his former workplace incompetent and “still recovering from covid” whilst the day before we had a lovely chat with one of the managers regarding our concerns

Very good

Relatively clean, plentiful alcohol, great beach (though unswimmable because of waves), large pool for laps,the servers were friendly.

The women at the check-in desk was bad at her job. She took forever to do anything. A friend used a resort pass to visit me. This woman repeatedly asked for her passport even though she had already seen it. Staff did not come for my luggage as requested on day I left. Food is plentiful, though just average.

Overall our stay was great.

Food was great. Drinks were great. Staff very friendly.

The AC unit in the room caused a very musty smell. Was difficult to figure things out the first 2 days on who’s to make reservations for dinner, and how to do things around the hotel. More information at check-in would have been great.

Location is wonderful. Garden is nicely maintained.

despite the well kept pools, there is always a fight for sun beds. Staff reserves and “sells” them. Unacceptable. In case of problems like water flooding in room due to leaks, no solution is given for ONE DAY. Dinner options are totally inflexible. We could make reservations only when we were told. Mostly too early. Drinks are watered up, there is no cafe for special brands. Evening programmes are rare. If there are any, guests are not informed. Several bathrooms and toilets are dump and mouldy. Toiletries are not provided daily. Beds and mattresses are old and uncomfortable. Price-value ratio is very low never seen before. This hotel is not recommended.

All in all, we enjoyed our vacation. Great value for$. We would return despite the stupid shoe rule

The grounds are beautiful and serene, very well kept. Loved the natural wildlife on the property. Great location and beach. The bar was always stocked, drinks were flowing and the bartenders were very good. The food was hit and miss. Some entrees were really good, others so so.

One issue for our room was the loud chair moving noise every morning that was at the Concierge desk outside of our room. I would recommend moving or put something on the chair legs to reduce the noise. Don't like that you have to pay to get the "best" chairs by the pool. GET RID OF THE DISCRIMINATORY POLICY THAT MEN CANNOT WEAR OPEN TOED SHOES (like sandals) in the restaurants; makes no sense since women can wear all the open toed shoes they want. I had blisters and wanted to wear my Birkenstocks in to the restaurant and was denied. I was very irritated at the time. It's an arbitrary and stupid rule. Women can get away with way less coverage. Seems sexist to me in 2023. A few more organized group activities would be great.

everything was good. Our hotel was lovely, me and my family had a good vacation.

Hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff was very polite and ready to help, even tho our concierge was sometimes missing. Wasn't making a huge difference for us. Me and my family had very good vacation.

We would prefer if the hotel had a bit more beach chairs. We would also hopped that hotel staff would clean the beach from the seaweeds. (like near hotels did every mornings, not a big deal for some people, but just would be nice to see) Also hotel doesn't provide straws which is good for the environment, but we weren't prepared and had no straws to drink with. (if we knew we would brought metal straws) =)

Exceptional

Absolutely incredible stay. The property is beautiful. Everything there is top tier, from the rooms, to the service, the liquer and the food. You can't go wrong. Activities at the pool are a hoot, and they do a lot of special things at noon. For example they carved a 100 lbs tuna poolside and served amazing Sashimi all around, it was an amazing expreince. They also have a great sea sporting center with lots of free activities. You can't get bored there.

That we couldn't afford staying there much longer.

Great stay

The food was excellent, the bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious, the location and view were great!

Difficulty getting reservations for dinner. We didn't get to try all of the restaurants. :(. Also could use more entertainment. The entertainment staff might have needed more help. When u check in, things are not explained clearly, like where to book non motorized sports, where to get bikes, etc. Maybe a tour when people check in would be nice.

overall a great stay and would recommend.

location, sea, views, rooms, grounds and staff. all inclusive is also a major plus.

only minor but 2 things would elevate it to the next level 1. sort out the lighting in the restaurants - it’s way too bright and lowering it would make the experience more enjoyable, ambient and keeping with the luxury 5 star experience. 2. pool music in the afternoons needs to be more curated and the sound quality needs to be better for those who want to be by the pool and enjoy it.

I give this place a 10 star review.

We absolutely loved the way we were greeted and treated from start to finish. The staff was amazing my concierge Ricky Rosa's was an absolute exceptional employee. We became friends. He took very good care of us. My fiancé said this would be a great yearly Destination for us. I totally agree with her. You are absolutely amazing and we loved our time there. It was very hard to leave. We will be back thank you so much for all the love. Actor Jose Santiago Jr

I don’t think I would stay there again. loved the staff.

I loved the staff. breakfast was great. location was perfect to 5th ave. loved that there was no kids!

I didn’t like that we had to make reservations for diner and that they couldn’t accommodate a party of seven until 9:30 PM! (who eats that late) we gad reservations one night at spices and the food was horrible. we had pretty much everything on the menu. definitely not authentic.

Loved it!

Great location in playacar, very secure and safe. It was our first all inclusive experience and it was really great. Plenty of drinks and food and staff were just incredible. Rooms clean and spacious and 24 hour room service is fabulous.

The beach was polluted with sea weed so we could not swim at all which was disappointing. In terms of resort the only downside was not enough atmosphere, restaurants generally have no background music so you hear dishes making noise and other conversations. There is activities but staff dont do much to get people involved so most dont go ahead. The bar is super quiet and no atmosphere. They need bavkground music or games/activities so people stay and have fun.
