Wait staff friendly. Good drinks. Buffet food was mah. The restaurant served meals at fuego’s was good with nice plating presentation.
All inclusive is a scam: they charge an extra fee daily for all inclusive on top of the total price paid on booking. All inclusive does not include room service for the exact same food as the restaurants.
The rooms had no tv. No activities or entertainment especially for children. Mosquitoes are terrible - we got bitten all night because they are in the rooms too. The WiFi is terrible only stays connected for about 10-15 minutes then it disappears with no connection. Rooms have no usb ports so bring your box if you need to charge anything!!!
The 3 bed suite is a scam. This room doesn’t exist. We did not get a double suit as described with 3 beds. It was a single room with a twin bed and a king bed they rolled in a rollaway bed for my son after I complained about the misleading description.
Front desk staff were rude and talked to you like you were a child. 3 people in the room and they only give you 1 room key. When asked for additional was told they are “out” and check back in the morning.
In addition to the daily food fee you are also charged $250+ for “ incidentals because all inclusive does not mean all inclusive.
We were removed from the system prior to check out therefore the so called all inclusive breakfast on the last morning was not included.
The lights in the room kept flickering on and off by itself.
Room mini bar was not replenished daily.
Only 2 places to eat, third restaurant is closed and half the resort buildings look abandoned.
The only time I’ve ever been on a 5 day vacation and was ready to leave by day 2.

The hotel location by the beach and the facilities were beautiful. We had booked this expensive hotel as a special treat for our first day of holiday. However our experience was ruined by key basics not working and the attitude of the front desk. AVOID.
When we arrived at our room the bins hadn't been emptied. After unpacking we realised that the aircon wasn't working (couldn't adjust it) and the toilet wasn't flushing properly, so we called front desk. Engineers were sent, the aircon seemed to work but an extra engineer had to be called and they were still fixing the toilet as we went out for dinner. When we returned to our room the aircon was not working again, and the toilet wasn't flushing. We again called front desk who were slow to respond and were then waiting for engineers at 9pm very tired (long journey from UK and jet lag). The aircon couldn't be fixed and neither was the toilet. Eventually at 10.30pm (by which time I and my daughter were in bed asleep), they suggested that we change room, which was obviously not practical by then. The following day we complained as we paid £350 for a night in a room with no aircon or working toilet, and a constant stream of engineers during our stay. Front desk advised that as they had offered an alternative as far as they were concerned there was no issue, and they wouldn't give us any form of compensation, not even a free drink. To add insult to injury, they also claimed they had no record of the first set of engineer visits, even though several people had attended, and did not acknowledge the terrible experience we'd had. They didn't care about the guest experience, they just want to protect their income. We weren't the only people experiencing this poor service as i overheard other families complaining too.
10 days after we had left, the hotel still had a hold on £150 on my bank account for no reason. After several messages to the hotel this was eventually removed but there was no apology for the inconvenience.
The staff responding to this comment and booking messages are sweet, but don't be fooled as the front desk staff on site in Mexico who you rely on for help during and after your stay are truly awful.

The beach was beautiful and the staff were both friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well stocked.
The food left a lot to be desired. Our casita was on the beach, which was lovely, however, because it is a public beach the noise level at night was often loud into the wee hours of the morning.

The grounds are lovely, the staff in the restaurants are friendly.
Rooms need updating and a serious clean, fresh paint and new fixtures, especially the bathrooms, etcetera.
Our check in took us 2.5 hours after a plane to Cancun and an hour to the resort. We booked 3 rooms for a week totaling $14,000USD. It took us two hours to check in: First, we asked to be near to each other months in advance, but we weren't, and were told "we can't accommodate those requests", which was a concern, as we were two families with teens in one of the rooms. They had months to email us but didn't bother to tell us that until the day we checked in. They said that they were fully booked but we noted that there were plenty of empty rooms throughout our stay. The person who checked us in was named Bada.
Also, they really don't guarantee king beds or beds with two doubles, so be prepared to share a bed if you book two doubles.
Also, for 8 people, 4 people were not on the meal plan (our mistake), but we were told at the time of check in that it would cost us $5500 to add an extra four people for the week. We talked in circle for two hours. So not sure if this was a scam... you decide. Next day, by another person, we were told the true cost which was significantly less. When we went to speak to the same person that checked us in later that day, Bada, even though we had kept our cool during check in, for the sake of our kids and the very long line of people behind us, and engaged in his circle talk, when I approached him the next day and said he had given me the incorrect information about meals, he said that it was because I had been upset the previous day and did some kind of imitation of me... if was the most disgusting and insulting thing a stranger has done to me, even more so since we were so proud of ourselves for maintaining our cool. In the end, a female at reception assisted us and we purchased the meal plan at the correct price.

Bonita vista, bunas albercas y seguridad.

NOTE vedr. PARKERING
Det er bøvlet at parkere på vejen, hvor der er parkometer. 5 min gang op ad vejen er en kæmpe parkeringsplads, hvor man kan parkere for 15 pesos i timen. Lidt dyrere end vejen, men langt nemmere. 😊

Loved location, cleanliness
Some bars and restaurants closed during our stay. Thankfully we hadn’t taken all inclusive offer
Also, I lost sunglasses whilst there, staff weren’t at all helpful and therefore I didn’t get a report so can’t follow up insurance claim.

Great staff, sad to leave.
Very accommodating for requests (travelling with a baby)
Playa is not for everyone, too touristy. Not a Cristian if the hotel as it is an oasis

The garden, the pool and the fauna are really exceptional. The service from the waiters at the restaurant was great, Marco, Enrique and nancy were really amazing. I also really enjoyed the ceramic activity
Food was very good, in particular at the restaurant where you pay extra
- the way to book the (nice) restaurant Fuego is absolutely stupid. You need to book on the same day at the lobby ( dont accept to book on the phone from the room) the restaurant is mostly empty since it s an extra charge from the half board, but included with the all inclusive.
- the room are a bit small and not a lot of lights ( palapa room) The bathroom had a bit of rust
- the way the tips works is a bit confusing when you are all inclusive
- would have appreciate one restaurant with AC as they are all open , hence very hot.

I've been at the Mahekal Resort the second time and it was again an amazing holiday.
The staff and the facility is like a paradise.
Even there is a problem with the algae they are doing a great job to clean the beach.
For sure I'll visit Mahekal again.

great location. Beautiful setting. good cleaning staff and good staff at bars and restaurants.
terrible service at the front desk. not to mention the concierge lady. she made us feel like we clearly bothering her

Beautiful hotel and surroundings. The rooms were amazing and bigger than I had anticipated, which has made me recommend you.
The breakfast was delicious and the team were all so lovely.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like but little things that could be done to improve things further:
More bar/restaurant staff to serve the pools area. It wasn’t obvious this service was offered. Then there was only one individual to serve a busy pool area, so it felt a little too slow to be honest, even by relaxed holiday standards…
Signage could be better to show that there is another pool across the road. This is the showcase pool, but it was 2 days in to the holiday to realise where it was and whether we could use those facilities. Perhaps a mention at check-in would be helpful, plus signage on site?

The property is clean and well maintained. It is a beachfront property with proximity to restaurants, bars, and shopping. It also has security at all times.
We had a beachfront room and in the evening you can hear people on the beach. There are no televisions in rooms but I can’t say I missed it.

Tropical oasis. Friendly staff, good service, great food, good ambience. Overall good value for money.
A lack of sun loungers around the pool areas. Late afternoon noise from the day nightclub

We love the location right on Calle 38. There’s tons of great restaurants and shopping just down the street. The whole vibe of the hotel was great…a perfect tropical getaway. Staff was constantly cleaning and keeping the place looking pristine. Food at the restaurants was very good.
The room was very small.
5.0 / 10.0
The staff but not much else
We were given a so-called Ocean view room which was really a 90% road view room with a 10% glimpse of the ocean. on top of this the road had many bars and was very noisy. They did move us when we complained.
Tractors started clearing seaweed at 5.30 in the morning so that was a free early morning wake up call. The so called half board was limited to 27 US $ per person which didn’t cover half the cost of our meals. The lobster night cost us $200 and the lobster was burnt. All in all a rip off!

It’s right on the beach and the main drag.
The beach is really eroded and there was a lot of seaweed for a few days that made it impossible to swim. Not the property’s fault though.
8.0 / 10.0
the location was great.
I wish there was more beach. one day they didn’t clean any of the seaweed away from the beach and it was piled high and covered. I wish the 3rd restaurant would’ve been open and the second restaurant only had buffet. Some of the food could’ve been better.

Jovanny helping us with our luggage was the only employee that was giving us great service
Employees in lobby and manager are so rude. Made me and my company feel discriminated. Along with receiving the wrong room. The customer service made our stay so uncomfortable. Mauricio at the lobby was not only rude but made mistakes in our package and discriminated us.

Excellent location, wonderful ambiance, friendly staff, the food was great too.
It’s a smaller thing, but the rooms could benefit from a full size mirror and a mini fridge.
we stayed during high season and some days was hard to find a spot at the beach/pools.

Beautiful and the woker who made us feel welcome is Jacinto great man
Beautiful resort and great experience with Jacinto when you arrive. BUT.....When we first arrived Dulce checked us in aswell as our friends. She let my husband and I know our meals were not included and I can come by to front desk any time if i wish to add the all inclusive meals. Later in the day our friends ordered drinks and gave their room number and realized they put us in the wrong rooms. Which was an accident and we were not upset untill later in the evning after having a bad experience with Mauricio at front desk I let Mauricio know the situation and asked him to add the all inclusive for my husband and I and tried paying him. He said since we were in the wrong room I didn't need to pay anything because it was included and changed our wrist band. He also said he would contact our friends and tell them the mistake. Which he never called our friends. Later we all went to have dinner and was rudely interrupted 3 times by the waitress embarrassing us as if we stole something infront of everyone saying we didn't pay for our meals. Keep in mind they have our room numbers and credit cards on file. Our meals were all ruined for us and our friends. We were called to the front desk to resolve but it wasn't resolved and we ended up coming back several occasions. And they said they couldn't do anything to
make it right which is wrong because our time there was ruined. The next day the front desk lady Rosa said she couldn't do nothing but later offered us lunch on our check out day but we didn't accept because it's unacceptable. Due to them making us feel like thieves after we paid so much to stay there. Our friends had all inclusive and didn't want to eat there either after all of this. It could have been handled differently. What a waste of time and money. Also beach access is not private and over packed with people can't even enjoy. I will never come here again

We loved the location of the resort and the grounds themselves were wonderful. This resort felt like a total oasis right next to a city center, so you could relax and still get off property to explore when you wanted! The restaurants and staff were phenomenal, our favorite was Fuego. The spa was lovely and the staff there were so wonderful and really helped us relax.
9.0 / 10.0
The location , beach and resort overall was beautiful. We also liked the option of being able to walk to town and experience local food .My family loved our stay .
A few things which could be better.
-I think there should be more options of things to do for kids especially in rainy days for families
- I found the quality of food at the restaurants a bit average and especially one of the restaurants at the resort dint have great food .
