It was a lovely and cozy rooms. We loved the brightness and brightness to the rooms. The AC was great but we also loved leaving our windows open for the breeze. We dipped in the pool and relaxed in the outdoor seating every night of our stay. The breakfast in the morning was delicious! I can’t say enough about this place and I’m looking forward to staying here again.
I liked everything. No complaints at all.

Very nice, comfortable and quite large room in a pretty B&B. Great small pool to cool off in. Lovely plantings and decor on the courtyard. Excellent breakfast -- self-serve coffee and juice, plus fruit plate and egg dish served by the staff.

Peaceful B&B very closed to main street. Very well decorated, feels like you are in the jungle surrounded by tropical trees and birds, quiet room with little balcony or terrace. Delicious breakfast. You feel very welcome!

Scenic garden courtyard, nice rooms.
Cigarette smoking allowed in common areas.
Swimming pool is small and unappealing.

I stayed 4 nights in January 2023. It’s nice and quiet. All the staff including the owner, George, are very kind. The water pressure of hot shower is good. A little swimming pool is good for cooling off from the hot sun during the day. Has a beautiful garden with lots of comfortable chairs.
A bit far from the historic district (Plaza Grande). Takes 15-20 mins on foot. It was too hot to walk during the day, because of the heat from sun. After sunset, it’s great to walk around. Breakfasts were sometimes a bit too salty. But overall, good.

Do not hesitate to book the private casita next door! It has fewer photos, but is the absolute best of both worlds. We had 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, PLUS a living room, gorgeous tiled kitchen, 2 patios & A POOL. PLUS daily breakfast & housekeeping! What could be better??? All the rooms have high ceilings, gorgeous tiled floors, fans & AC. The B&B provides insect repellant, filtered water, an honor bar, lending library & games.
We stayed 3 weeks. My mom, who can’t walk far or climb stairs, had the ground floor, which included the common areas & a small bedroom & bath. I had a HUGE suite accessible by an outdoor spiral staircase (see photo). I was working on a book & could write on my upstairs patio, next to the pool, even in my huge bathroom if it got hot. We loved taking a dip in the pool after breakfast & before bed, & the sound of the automatic waterfall each afternoon.
Great location on a residential street in the Centro with lots of Westerners, a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, popular nightspots like Dzalbay (jazz & blues) & La Negrita (cringe) Cantina, Santa Ana & de Santa Lucía parks, Paseo Montejo (the major boulevard), an English-language bookstore, etc. Terrific breakfasts with music in a lovely palapa: coffee, tea, fresh fruit & juice, homemade cinnamon rolls & a different entrée each day, alternating between Mexican & American dishes, primarily egg-based, though they accommodate dietary restrictions.
Super friendly & helpful staff. Aaron arranges tours, dinner reservations & airport pickups, fixes any problem immediately & interprets between non-Spanish-speaking guests & the 3 women who cook & clean. The new American owners, Sarah & George, are very nice & fun to talk to.
Mom said the living room got noisy as times (all I heard in the back were birds, cats & some nightclub music).
The wifi occasionally got spotty, but they immediately tried to fix it; I only missed one meeting.
The kitchen could use more equipment, napkins & dishes - a wooden spoon was the only cooking utensil, which I took as a Chopped-style challenge (LOL).

A gorgeous, peaceful property in a great location complete with delicious breakfast and wonderful hosts. They even helped me jump my car when it's battery died; truly exceeded my expectations. Thanks George and Sarah!

The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Hot breakfasts were delicious, served outside under a central palapa where I could meet other guests. A faucet problem was fixed within hours.
The location was a bit far from the Plaza Grande, but perfect for if you want to explore both the historic district and Paseo Montejo.

George and Sarah are great hosts. Thank you for your warm welcome and kindness. Drew and I arrived early morning in Merida from Tijuana and they accommodated us, letting us check in early and we were able to get much needed rest before we explored the city on foot on a hot and humid day. They are also very helpful with recommendations on restaurants, car rentals and cenotes around Merida. Thanks to George for recommending El Apapacho…I’d come back to Merida just for their cocktails alone. hahaha! Thank you also to the staff of Casa Del Maya for making us great breakfast everyday and to Aaron for the information about Merida. We’ve been to Mexico
many times and nowhere did I feel so at home than in Merida. Hope to be in the city and another stay at Casa Del Maya.

Casa de Maya makes you feel at home! We loved our stay and were pleased with how special the staff made us feel. Aaron took great care of us and provided great suggestions like visiting Hacienda Sotuta de Peón, which was incredible! The owners, Sarah and George, are genuinely one of the sweetest and most down-to-earth people we've ever met. When George heard about our engagement, he was so happy for us; it felt like we were giving the news to a relative. I can't stress enough how lovely Casa de Maya is; if you are visiting Merida, I highly recommend booking your stay here! From the bottom of our hearts, we wish the best to Casa de Maya and all of its future endeavors.

it was nice and cosy
the room was very dark and the celing was very low so it was a bit claustrofobic. it is also extremly hot but with ac it is ok.

It was centric, nicely appointed, well furnished, and had a very nice garden.
Lots of mosquitos, there is no parking other than the curbside. New owners were anxious about the payment long before we arrived; then they billed incorrectly and had to reprocess my credit card. We had a dental appointment and called in at 9am to see if we could get our breakfast at 9:15 and they said no!

Amazing! George and Sarah were phenomenal hosts. The room was decorated so well. The property was beautiful- an oasis away from the heat of Merida. The breakfast and coffee were delicious!
This is my complaint for all hotels I stayed in in the Yucatán- the beds are so small!

A home away from home. George & Sarah go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need for the perfect stay. The property is spotlessly clean, the breakfasts are delicious and generous. The location is perfect for exploring Merida. Would happily return one day.

Merida can be quite overwhelming for some tourists with its considerable traffic and narrow pavements. Casa del Maya allows you to get away from the busy city, it's like an oasis in the middle of the desert. The trees and plants surrounding the place will make you feel very relaxed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the Wi-Fi was also very good. The breakfasts were delicious. Sonny, the host of Casa del Maya, was very welcoming and helpful and gave us some good tips on restaurants and attractions nearby.
Nothing to complain about.
