Clean and staff nice but room quite small and hot and air conditioning was broken. At least window did open.
As above it was stuffy and air conditioning non functioning
6.0
Breakfast chaotic due to numerous groups inundating the restaurant. Ran out of cutlery, ran out of various items of food, ran out of plates. Lift broke down, not good for disabled person on 2nd floor.

Was standard hotel room, we only stayed for a night. Nothing particularly standout or special. Comfortable bed. Nice air con. Big room.
Was let down by the fact that there was no mirror in the bathroom and the glue from where it had been was left on the wall. There were also exposed lighting cables (they were made safe but was just unsightly). Was surprisingly below standard for Mercure.

Comfortable, clean, local to city centre without city centre prices

Rooms well modern and everything you needed and more
A little to far out of City Centre but it was exactly what I wanted and affordable as Pink was in town

Was clean and quiet
Value for money, and staff lied to me

Vastly increased rates to exploit Bruce Springsteen concert also with parking charge - not a way to promote loyalty. Had to clear table of prior users plates etc at breakfast. Room service trays left in corridors not cleared

Room was good. And the staff were very good.
The window in our room was broken and we were unable to close it, we couldn’t be moved, our sleep was disrupted by noise! We did receive a 20% discount, given I had a four hour drive in the morning this discount wasn’t really adequate?

Room was beautiful and clean with great decor. Staff we spoke to were lovely and polite. Evening meal was nicely cooked and breakfast was outstanding. Location was perfect for our stay too.
I had asked for an extra bed to be put up in our room at the time of booking as we were travelling with my 10 year old son, and when we went up to the room it wasn't there. When we spoke to reception, we were told that they couldn't get into housekeeping as they had gone home for the day. We were provided with extra pillows and then 3 of us squashed into bed at bedtime, which resulted in a terrible night's sleep for all.
Also, the tea tray and kettle being situated in the hanging area for clothes...just why? Every time we wanted to use the kettle we had to move it, so I think rethinking the location is a must.

clean decent Breakfast comfortable
crazy price for one night and snippy staff once I mentioned they were trying to charge me 942.50 rather than 294.50

This place was an absolute shambles Christine at the reception messed me and my wife around. Our room was changed 3 times due to unsatisfactory clanliness of the room and basic amenities like the television not working. Rooms were long walks away and still required to go up stairs after getting the lift which was too much for my wife especially when was going up and down for 40 mins changing room 3 times. The service was awful and room was very basic with foul smells and no smart TV.

Very good
Bit crowded on one day. L

The location to where we had to go. The fact that there was a restaurant so we didn't need to go in the city centre on both nights.
Our room was on the main road side. It was quite warm and we like fresh air and the air conditioning was very noisy and with the window open it is exceptionally noisy from traffic.

Good breakfast with a decent choice of items. Comfortable bed. At the same standard as comparable hotels in this class.
The £8 per night parking charge when the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the only way to get there is by car. Also, my room had air conditioning compressors outside and they were going constantly. Plus my room was a weird design - really quite large. You could probably get a snooker table in there (and keep the bed!). But the tiniest bathroom where the door is in the way of the toilet and the arc of said door is about half of the total floor space! Surely it deserves (and has plenty of space for) a larger bathroom?

Would have liked free parking or the nearby park and ride to have been open!..but really a little niggle not one that would stop us from returning.

The one lady on reception, she said she was the manager was very rude and room was dirty probably won't be staying there again, and I had bites on my body,I asked the polite man on desk in morning to check if there was bed bugs and he said no but slept with the window closed so cant blame flys or anything

Friendly staff and ideally located for NIAC, cheap when booked in advance
Tired room, carpet had lots of dubious stains, mattress was concave, window in bathroom didn't close properly and had been repaired so had traffic noise all night as faced the main road, wires dangling below tv, socket next to bed didn't work/ charge phone , £14 for breakfast with limited options (no porridge) awful coffee.

Mattress awful they are old and need replacing

Lovely hotel close to Cardiff. Nice welcome, great bar.
Restaurant wasn’t the best. No security at night, some unwelcome guests returning after a night out under the influence and continued to carry out their antics outside our room. Lots of shouting and substance misuse could be heard.

Lovely breakfast in pleasant quiet environment, plenty of space

Good hotel. Large room. Fair price. Free car park.
You need to have a car to use this hotel. A bit far away from center.

Room was bright and modern with a great bathroom. The breakfast was good, although better if less fried eggs were cooked at a time and presented more often. Bed was very comfortable and serviced very well.

Hotel was modern clean
Shower was freezing cold & got told there was a problem sorry

Good cooked breakfast for me but not so good for my wife who does not enjoy sausages or bacon.
We had to move to a second room as the heating on our first room was faulty and did not work. The lighting in the room was on the poor side, as it is in most hotels. Distinct lack of ordinary tea bags in the room. Restaurant not open for lunch or dinner.
