Nice room for the price. Only booked a small room (there was space for a desk and chair) as we were visiting family and not using the hotel facilities (no breakfast/dinner)
Comfy bed and spotlessly clean toilet, sink and shower in the bathroom which was definitely bijou!
The slightly dodgy TV - we thought it was going to fall off the wall when we tried to move it out of its box to watch. Quickly resolved though when we mentioned it on Saturday morning so well done to the Hotel.
Bathroom was cold and the heated towel rail wasn't working.
Secondary glazing in the bathroom. Blind not easily accessible and the pull cord was broken but window was private so no need to use it. The whole window area and secondary glazing was in need of a good clean

Location, building, grounds
Cleanliness, we stayed for two nights in 3 rooms (group of 6) to attend a family wedding in the area. None of our rooms were cleaned during our stay so we returned from the wedding and our rooms weren’t made up. Also a ripped duvet cover & some blood in the sink. Check in staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming.

Excellent location and a fine country house with character. Good food well executed.
Would benefit from more attention to detail on maintenance, cleaning, and grounds.

Ein wirklich schönes Haus. Toller Garten.

Great surroundings, quiet area, clean rooms
Shower didn’t really work but other than that lovely

The surroundings were great and the setting of the hotel is nice, what staff we did see were friendly, we liked the large open reception area.
The dirty broken chair (stained) at the desk in the room had to been changed, still shower handle, black mold in shower, sink plug difficult to use, limited disabled parking one space, lack of ventilation in room making it very hot and stuffy, hook on rear of bathroom door, set two high, not able to use if you are small on height, no shelving/ storage in bathroom, no desk draw for make up etc, the hotel is looking tired and ready for a revamp, the room was large, but lacked furniture, could do with suitcase stand, desk too small to use a laptop, the lighting wasn't great in the room, and outside in the corridor, the carpets are all stained, auto lighting in the corridor comes on too late you are half way down stairs before it turns on, not good from a health & safety aspect. Lift had a moldy smell to it. External lighting towards carparks at night very poor.
It looks like the maintenance is lacking and for the amount we paid this equates to poor value for money.

On our way back home we had a car accident and had to find a hotel near Gatwick Airport to travel home by plane the next day. We didn't want to stay in a real airport hotel, after the shock we wanted to find a nice countryside hotel where we could relax a bit. I searched for the 'best rated hotel' in the area and Stanhill Court hotel came up first and I already loved the pictures. I booked it just an hour in advance. When we came in we were very impressed by the decor. It looked like it was just renovated but also had lovely authentic details. We had the last 2 rooms and were so happy! We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant 1881, with to our astonishment very decent prices! There was a wedding party, but the music wasn't till late and didn't bother us. In the morning breakfast was nice with enough choice. The area is very nice and the views of the countryside are lovely. It felt like a surprise we had found this little gem! Really thinking about going back.
The hotel had no bath slippers and as all our luggage was still in the car we really missed that service. Do expect to find some spiders in the bathrooms, but I think that's part of the deal when you stay in the countryside. In the morning breakfast was in a conference room which was very warm but I think on weekdays it is in the restaurant.

Ideal location for what we needed. Lovely building.

Dinner was good, as was breakfast for my wife- I would have preferred to see a bigger variety of cheese, cold cuts and crispy rolls for breakfast; I do not like hot food for breakfast.
No lounge service of any description...it would have been nice to sit comfortably in a public room and have some tea etc.
You carry your own bags...

Reasonable sized room and had aircon. Bed comfortable
The whole hotel smelled of drains which was unpleasant. Also, the lift was not working so my elderly mother had to traipse up to the 2nd floor, which was not easy for her. I noticed on other reviews re. The lift being out of order. If I am cynical, I suspect it never works....

the staff were welcoming and friendly. The grounds are beautiful, made especially so by the glow of a setting sun and a passing doe. Breakfast and dinner were good
Limited dinner menu. Wasn’t very keen on staying in a room without a window

Good sized rooms, warm and well presented
Car parking is chaotic, lots of conferences means lots of cars, poor marking out and since we visited in freezing conditions no treatment to the paths and lots of ice.
Told to book for the restaurant since it would be busy and no other meals available.. Was actually about 10 % full. Bar has the ambience of a garage.

Very good location near to Gatwick. Evening menu had a good choice and the food we had was very tasty. The room was big, very clean and comfortable. The staff we saw were happy and helpful. Plenty of overnight parking. Though near to the airport you don't really hear the planes. We would definitely stay here again.
It is an older building so expect quite a bit of noise from the corridors with other guests walking by your room but done let that put you off just take earplugs.

Staff were all attentive and efficient. The room was very clean and warm. Breakfast was great.
Air conditioning in the room was a little too loud to be on all night. A request of set temperature before we arrived would enable the room to be just perfect.

a little tear in shower curtain & a little bit dusty bathroom.
