Location is good but facilities are a bit of a mess

The location is the key here! Snooker table and bar is a good option to spend some time.

Parking is a hassle, you get calls from the hotel to move your car so that other can park move their car from the bay behind your car same is applied if you are parked in the other bays. There is no escalator from ground floor to first floor. The rooms have no AC and are extremely hot during summers.

Lovely stay , pictures on tripadvisor don’t look as enticing.

The lady running the front desk was exceptionally wonderful. She was friendly and fun. Definitely made me want to return to the hotel.

The pool was cold needs to be warmer.

Special mention for Vicky at reception when we booked in who was extremely helpful and friendly. Also Olivia on bar duty who also was great.

Please treat your guests nicely

Swimming pool and other facilities in the hotel was fine, location was okey. Overall, we liked the trip to be worthwhile. Most of the hotel facilities seems in functional. Some staffs were nice and welcoming. Exchanged lovely conversations with our children.

When ordering at Booking.com I have received weirdly bossy message from Vicky, inappropriately rude I thought. During the stay other staffs were nice, but Vicky does not seem to be happy serve. My bedside lamp was not working, she did not like that news at all and complained she is busy handling 3 other calls. I found it is not realistic she has it that much busy in this late. Restaurant was empty, everywhere was quite. When hotel is almost empty and only with 25% bookings, she should treat the existing guests nicely. After a very uncomfortable discussions convincing her to do the job, she reluctantly send someone to fix it. There was no air conditioning in the room. I could not sleep as opening windows will invite noisy street talks at night, I felt sweaty hot and stuffed.

Great stay and frie day staff.

Great location for us, pool and spa was the reason we booked and made good use of. We managed to park outside the hotel every night. Great restaurants within walking distance.

Was ok sadly wouldn’t re book to stay there again.

Felt like I was staying in a hotel from the 80’s whilst it was clean it was dated the breakfast menu so expensive for what it is. Side room with sea view had to stand on tip toes to see sea as flat roof from breakfast room there. All on all too expensive for what it was!

Fantastic hotel!

Hotel staff were amazing, rooms freshly decorated, clean and service above and beyond. Right on the beach with lots of fun things to do just a walk away. Restaurants and shops nearby. Swimming pool and jacuzzi are an added bonus! We are definitely returning.

Disappointing

We liked the indoor pool and the jacuzzi. The location is perfect as it is a seafront. Parking is wide as well.

The lady receptionist was a bit rude when we checked-in thinking I booked myself for both of the rooms which is a website error. She was insisting I am the only guest on both rooms which is nonsense because no one would book two hotel rooms for only one person. After double checking the paper she had, there was a note of the other guests which I put on the website. After realizing the names were actually there, she didn’t even apologize. The location of the rooms were also warm as compared to the others. The rooms were dusty as well.

Good value for money for the area

Location and price. Very clean and had a room with a balcony overlooking the sea which was lovely. Rooms very comfortable with nice bathrooms. Friendly staff. Great value for money, and included parking which was a bonus

Rooms decoration now very dated. Plastic furniture on Balconies. Hotel lacked a bit of sole - long empty corridors with 1970's carpet.

Fantastic stay at the Sandringham Hotel Sandown.

The beautiful room with wonderful Sea view, we couldn't of asked for more. The location was really good, near shops cafes and a variety of restaurants, also near bus stops that have a good service providing regular buses all over the island.

Great location for family access to the beach. Great local facilities such as parks etc for kids - so much so that we stayed an extra night. Staff made it for us.

Nice hotel and location.

Lovely clean hotel lovely staff nice location right in the seafront.

That there was no lift at the bottom of the stairs for pushchairs to get upstairs also when we arrived the pool was closed which would have been nice for the kids.

enjoyable visit , great location,

the location is excellent, right across from beach. the indoor pool is very good although strangely no changing room. the hotel is large, with lots of amenities. all staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, can’t fault them.

rather rambling , lots of steps and corridors. some of it felt dated/old fashioned. Some bedrooms are much larger than others but all the same price? Rather expensive for what it is .

So long as there is a balcony room with that wonderful seaview available we will always return

We book there because it's the only hotel in Sandown with balconies and a perfect seaview, for which we tolerate the high cost of staying and instead of spending more inside during our stay find what we need locally. All the staff are welcoming and as efficient as you'd expect and although the place is dated it's also clean and cared for.

My husband would of preferred a larger kettle inside the room, but we both tolerated what we had

Very good

The hotel was great. Maybe a tad past its prime but the pool/ hot tub were fun, breakfast was good, location was perfect. Beds were a little hard but that's maybe personal preference. Would definitely come back.
