The staff were very friendly and helpful (valet for your car, take your things to your room), and the attached outdoor onsen was nice.
It’s on the older side and doesn’t really look like the photos. No breakfast or dinner unless you make a reservation prior to arriving. Perhaps this is common to ryokans, but I didn’t see anything about it online or in the information section for the ryokan.

I like the whole style of the hotel. The service and the staffs are very nice. The room size is perfect too. And it is few minutes walk to the Main Street.
The Onsen is too old and the environment is too dark. No outdoor Onsen.

Staff was extremely helpful, more than I'm used to (in a good way!). The onsen was amazing.
Nothing, it was great

Excellent traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. Unforgettable.

Good location at the heart of the Onsen area, right across from a walking trail loop. Property needs some upgrades but it’s retaining the traditional ryokan hotel charm. Service is superb and definitely get the dinner and breakfast option if you love Japanese food- 15+ different items served per meal- in your room!
They survived the pandemic shutdown but the wounds are showing a little in terms of room and facilities upkeep (minor stuff).

Great price for the Onsen and meals. The dinner and the breakfast are perfect. The best I ever have since many trips to Japan. Though it's a traditional Onsen hotel, they have the best internet and wifi signal. Worth a visit!

Older property. Lovely staff, good food.
Rooms are a bit dated, but large and spacious.

Staff was incredibly friendly, amazing food and it was very easy to get around noboribetsu.

The staff cleaned the snow off our luggage and brought it to our room which was clean. They are friendly and provide a nice Ryokan experience. Their English can be hard to understand, but they did their best to communicate and it was good enough for our stay. The food was great and, imo, worth the price. The onsen was soothing and left my skin feeling good.
Our room had some banging noises, which I think were from the A/C or heater fan, while we were sleeping. They ended at some point of the night, probably when it was less windy outside.

Service was extremely good.
The staff was very helpful with helping us get where we wanted to go.
Baths were great. Awesome water.
Rooms a little on the older side but that's not a very big deal imo.

The property had a lovely charm as it wasn’t as large and monolithic as the others and the staff there were just so incredibly accommodating and friendly. The staff were also responsive with answering questions online. The tatamis were also extremely comfortable.
There was a metal sound that came from the window every now and then at night.

Great location! 5 mins walk to Hell Valley, staff were so friendly! Greay Japanese style room! Onsen was great!

Classic Japan hospitality onsen hotel. The staff speak English and show us the best Japan service level (the onsen water very natural and feels super good!)My parents enjoy the hotel very much.
However, this hotel need to have some renovation for the price I pay 🙏 Not my first time book onsen hotel in Japan but this is the oldest I ever have with the same amount of money I pay in other Japan areas (the hotel seems to be still living in 70s-80s). The facility of the onsen is old and small despite the quantity is good.
4.2
The tradition style of Japanese hospitality, the room layout and some thoughtfulness
the public bath is a bit too small, it could be easily crowded for just 4,5 people, especially the changing area.

The staffs are very friendly. We had a bit difficulty about the communication, but luckily my mom can speak Japanese. Onsen is very nice, and also breakfast is very delicious!
Location - but not that bad

Friendly staff, tasty meal and not as salty as those in other places in Hokkaido. Meal is a little bit over priced but it’s in good quality. We had the crab and the beef dinner.
Great onsen water with the signature sulfuric smell at Noboribetsu area.
Close to the sights and hiking trail is literally across the road.
The facilities are in need of renovation. The room ran out of hot tap water for two of the three nights we stayed there. The heating was not powerful enough to keep the entire room warm-we had to wear extra clothes when going to the toilet or washroom. Shower in the morning is challenging due to lack of hot water and heating.
The breakfast schedule is impossible for us late risers. We had to get up at 7 am every day so they could take away the beddings and serve us breakfast, because the latest breakfast session was at 8 am.
They have only one open air onsen pool, so the two genders of users had to take turns to access the open air onsen. The hotel should have been clearer about that in their intro.
They don’t offer transportation from/to the JR station while other hotels do. Luckily the there is bus stop only minutes of walk from the place but it was not the most pleasant experience when you had to walk with two large suitcases.
