About this cabin rental
Escape in style to the incredible natural beauty and tranquility of the Olympic Peninsula at the Wild Oyster Lodge. This expansive log home, set on high-bank water-front and surrounded by towering pines, provides sweeping views of Hood Canal from its large deck and oversized chef's kitchen. You will enjoy the rugged beauty of the sea and woods from the comfort of this well-appointed, contemporary home with elevated décor and furnishings. It's a perfect jumping off point to explore the Olympic Peninsula.
Wild Oyster Lodge sits on Dabob Bay, a secluded bay on the north Hood Canal, surrounded by protected wilderness and a quarter-mile down the beach from one of Taylor Shellfish's oyster farms. Eagles and seals are your neighbors and the rocky beach (accessible by a long set of stairs, which is quite steep) abounds with fresh oysters. The home is located 15 minutes from Olympic National Park (with Mt. Walker and Canyon Falls trailheads nearby), and the quaint town of Quilcene 10 minutes away. Get out on the pristine waters of Dabob Bay with a pair of kayaks, explore the coastline or make the round trip to nearby Dabob Broad Spit, a boat-access only state park nearby with an incredible 3 story driftwood fort built by campers over decades.
The home has two large bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and bonus room with daybed to provide a comfortable stay for two families or a few groups of friends. The large sunroom and living room provide plenty of space to relax, play games or cozy up near the gas fireplace. One of the highlights of this getaway is the large professional kitchen, with seating for 8, and a granite island for breakfast, oysters or wine tasting. If you prefer outdoor cooking, there is also a Weber gas grill ready for you. Fiber Internet was recently installed, providing super fast speeds to allow for video calls and streaming movies.
Although its seclusion is one of its most unique features, this place may not be for everyone. It's a great place to connect and kick back, but it is intentionally TV- less. The nearby town of Quilcene only offers a few spots to eat and a small but well-supplied market(Quilcene Village Store), so it's recommended to pack groceries before you arrive and take advantage of the indoor/outdoor cooking and dining spaces at The Wild Oyster. The home has 2 outdoor security cameras, a doorbell camera on the front door and a camera monitoring the upper driveway.

My family stayed here for a week in July. We especially loved the deck with the most relaxing and beautiful views of the bay. The humming birds came to visit every afternoon and you could hear the seals on the beach at night. My kids loved going down to the beach to kayak, find oysters, shells and sand dollars. The oysters are plentiful and very tasty. The kitchen is a dream to cook in. The beds are comfortable. We would stay here again for sure!

This was our second stay here and it was just as great as the first time. The kids loved playing in the basement, the adults loved enjoying a cocktail on the deck, and we all loved kayaking and exploring the beach at low tide. We will definitely be back for a third stay!

Such a wonderful escape! We enjoyed the views of the bay and quiet of the area. The kitchen was extremely spacious! The hot tub was amazing!

My wife and I and a friend spent nearly a week at Oyster Lodge mostly under completely blue skies and little wind. We enjoyed the privacy, the spa, the commercial gas stove, the huge kitchen, and oystering on the beach. The large propane grill was perfect for cooking oysters in the shell. We also went clamming at the nearby WDFW tidelands near Quilcene. The 100 steps down to the beach were a little challenging, but we all made it on several occasions. The house was very clean except for a sticky area on the floor of the sunroom. I was very pleased with Adam and Erin's responsiveness in retrieving a pair of pants I left behind in our rush to catch a ferry.

This property is exactly as described and we loved our short stay. Some highlights were the amazingly comfortable beds, the daybed in the sunroom, the sunroom overlooking the bay, the hot tub, playing games, foraging for and eating fresh (and grilled) oysters, walks on the beach, seeing bald eagles and seals, kayaking, the kitchen, taking senior pictures in such an incredible location and so much more… cleanliness is a clear priority to this host and that was appreciated. Touches like a basket of towels for the hot tub just made it feel very welcoming and inviting… if you’re considering staying here, stay!!

This place is truly a gem. I loved every minute and every nook and cranny it had to offer: the hot tub, the giant kitchen, the fireplace room, the sun room, the comfy beds, the outdoor space, the stairs to the beach. Nothing short of magical, restorative and exactly what I needed.

First impression of 'this is exactly what we were looking for' kept ringing true during our visit. The property is described well... it's actually better in real life. The inn is comfortable, inviting throughout, and has plenty of sitting, sleeping, bathrooms and lounging areas. The kitchen is large... and is a joy to cook in. Access to to the beach down the bluff and stairs is good. The hot tub was a peaceful end to our full days. What a treat... for our retreat!

We had a wonderful time there. It was nice and quiet. Ran into a couple storms and tress fallen but still nice. Seen a bunch of wildlife. Listening to the seals wake up in the morning and when you are sleeping. Was peaceful mjch needed relaxation for my husband son and I

We really enjoyed the location and all of the comforts at the lodge. Our stay was incredibly relaxing. One of the BEST getaways in the North West. We will definitely be back!

3 old friends spent a relaxing 3 days on the canal at Wild Oyster. The cabin has a spacious, well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable. The views are great. We enjoyed the hot tub and the privacy of the location. If you are looking for a private getaway on the canal this place will serve you well.

What a phenomenal vacation property! We kayaked with seals, watched porpoises from the deck overlooking the bay, cooked in the amazing kitchen, and spent hours exploring the beach and watching wildlife. It was the perfect home base for exploring the Olympic peninsula. The hosts were extremely responsive and amazing. It was everything we could have hoped for and more!

Spacious and lovely home. Property is secluded, has a water view and beach access. We spent quite a lot of time on the beach, and hardly saw another person. Large windows throughout the house let in natural light, as well as displaying the views. A bald eagle flew by right at eye level when we were in the sunroom and porch area. The kitchen is huge, and there are vaulted ceilings there and in the main living area. The kids loved the fancy bathroom sinks and the extra features like the tent teepee and games and toys. The hot tub was nice for relaxing in the evenings. If you're looking for a place that is quiet and to disconnect, look no further.

We had a wonderful time at the Oyster lodge property. The nature settings was pristine and home set up allowed for people to spread out and also enjoy time together on a patio for a family dinner as well as comfortable living room space.
we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including good quality cookware, temperature regulation for indoor comfort, shelf with books, etc
several questions that were sent to the owners were promptly answered to assist with orienting and shopping in the area.
We would absolutely love to return again if have opportunity to visit WA state.

My four kids love this house and begged us to return after our first trip in 2021. The views are beautiful, the water is pristine, the house is perfect and the kitchen is perfect for oysters! No TV is the best idea and as a result
Our kids played ocean bingo on the deck and combed the beach at low tide. We will be back!

We booked the Wild Oyster Lodge as our home base for our annual National Park Trip. We had never been to the PNW and loved everything about the area and the home. The walk down to the beach, kayaking on the Bay, the hot tub and morning coffee on the porch watching the quiet bay was just what we needed. Olympic NP was amazing!
We spent some time driving all around, but enjoyed coming home along the winding drive and relaxing as a family. Thank you for great vacation!

We truly felt like we escaped from the world while we were here- which is just what we wanted! The lake view is breathtaking and the quietness is so calming. There are so many beautiful places to hike as Olympian National Park is just 15-20 minutes away. This is the perfect REMOTE vacation to unplug and escape reality and RELAX! We saw a lot of wild life, including a bear outside my window! I do recommend bringing bear spray or a bear horn however we were fine without one. The cabin was spacious and had mostly everything we needed. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return to the Oyster Lodge Cabin very soon! 10/10 recommend!

Modern accommodation with spacious rooms, high ceilings. 100 Steep steps to a pebbled beach where oysters can be gathered. Hot tub and barbecue.
Location was convenient for us as we weee on our way back to Seattle from Vancouver Island.
I recommend highly a 2 to 3 mile hike at Staircase along a river - very pretty.

This property was lovely. We enjoyed the beach and the incredible views. A couple things needed a little TLC…broken chair outside, some burnt out light bulbs, leaky shower, and sand in the hot tub but over all this place is well appointed and well cared for. Can’t wait to return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas at Wild Oyster Lodge. Inclement weather delayed our arrival but owner was super helpful with info about the road and conditions. We picked many oysters on the beach, enjoyed the hot tub, and spent lots of time in the cozy living room playing games,
where there was even a lit Christmas tree for a fun, festive touch. The kitchen is huge, and we put it to good use. Bedrooms are
spacious - more than enough room for us (3) Thank you!

This listing is absolutely stunning. The home is designed and decorated perfectly to compliment and highlight the most wonderful feature of this listing... the setting! Surrounded by Washington's beautiful and very tall trees and with the full views of water from almost every room in the home, you can literally drink your coffee and watch the habor seals bobbing in the distance. This home was so amazing, it actually became one of the favorite parts of our entire trip (and we had a really good trip)! We would love to visit again in the future!

The property is in a beautiful, secluded setting but can be a bit tricky to get to especially at night. The home itself is beautiful and unique. Accommodations were good and everything was operational especially the hot tub! Would highly recommend.

Wonderful place to stay in the woods and on the water. We enjoyed hiking during the day and hot tubing at night. We also went out on the water once and it was a blast.
*One minor note is there is no TV so we just ended up watching a movie on our laptop which was totally fine as the internet was great

We loved staying in the Oyster Lodge with a highlight being able to collect our own oysters from the bay (although the steps down to it are no joke)! The house is very spacious and has a wonderful deck/view overlooking the bay. The location was good for us to hike many trails that were close by. We had a couple issues come up during our stay and the owners were easy to reach and resolved them quickly.

This property is our favorite. Its remote....quiet....yet has all the amenities you'd want. We use our time here simply to catch up with each other. Creating meals in the oversized and well-stocked kitchen, enjoying a soak in the hot tub, taking in all the views from every corner of the house. We arrive, park the car, and simply never leave until check out day. Erin and Adam are simply the best hosts. We will be back!

Lovely view and a very steep stairway to the beach than not everyone in our group could navigate. The bay was perfect for the heatwave with kayaks and swimming. We cooked, hiked and went to Port Townsend for a couple good dinners out. A few problems that the owners helped with: our first night we were tired and hungry and there was no way to light the gas stove as the lighter was broken. Had to go to town to buy one. I
I understand that the owners live in Seattle and the is a transition with local managers. I hope they prepare a list of things to check off, making sure that everything is ready for next users.
A few things like loose toilet seats etc need a fix.

Truly quiet and still
This place is fanastic for getting far away from other people. The architecture is at once expansive and cozy. Hot tub is clean. Wonderful furniture! Their pots and pans are mostly teflon-coated and scratched (with the exception of one glorious cast-iron skillet). My second visit here—calming and wonderful as always!

Amazing- stay here
This is an amazing property. Erin and Adam clearly have made this house and their guests experience a top priority. The kitchen is commercial grade. The living area and bedrooms are cozy and open. The deck was our favorite part with huge views of the hood canal. We have never experienced quiet like we did at this house. It is so peaceful and away from others . The canal is amazing. We kayaked with seals, caught crabs, and swam in the water.
We have stayed at quite a few VRBO‘s. This is not just a rental property. This is a vacation house that the owners take great care of and want their guest to have an amazing experience.

Beautiful & remote
We loved staying at this home - it's remote & lovely. The lack of wifi was a little challenging for us, if I am honest, but we knew that going in and were ready to unplug for a few days - just not sure our kids appreciated it. HA! The beach is stunning and we loved the hot tub.

escape
Wonderfully isolated. Great and much needed family time. The lack of TVs and spotty internet and phone service were also a blessing allowing a needed break from the connected world to take in the beauty surrounding the Wild Oyster Lodge. We had numerous beach and nature walks, game nights, and naps. The hot tub was utilized daily. Coffee on the deck in the morning then drinks in the evening. Close enough for day trips to some of the sites in Olympic National Park and surrounding areas. Would definitely come again if the opportunity presents itself!

Peaceful
We enjoyed the seclusion of the location. A little challenging for those having to check work emails or calls but if you want to get away from all that, this is the perfect place. The scenery is so beautiful and relaxing.

Great stay
Beautiful location and a great house. Very comfortable for two couples and kids. Very clean and well stocked. Could’ve used a stiff brush to clean off oysters, but we made do and the oysters were delicious.

Wow, a special place!
We had a lovely time at the Wild Oyster Lodge! It was much more spacious than we expected, and we loved the home's many accommodations and the serene environment. The 100+ steps to the beach surprised us at first, but it was great exercise and we made it to the beach at least twice a day with infants and grandparents. We want to return and hope to soon! Thanks y'all!

Beautiful, Relaxing Spot
Wild Oyster was a dream. Big beautiful kitchen, great view of the water, and spent most of my time in the really nice hot tub. Erin and Adam were very communicative, making sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend reading/napping in the excellent sun room while the sound of rain hits the roof. :) Thanks for an excellent time.

Peaceful, tranquil, cabin in the woods...an amazing 3-day get-away
This was the perfect spot to enjoy an extended weekend. The kitchen was a large, well-stocked gathering place, the views from the cabin are breath-taking, and the hot tub was a treat during the cooler days and nights of our stay. Comfortable, quiet, clean, cozy...all the things that made our stay with friends memorable. We will definitely be back!
