We had an amazing stay in this spacious beach house!
We especially enjoyed the pool and whale watching in the morning and evenings
Close to lovely beaches.
Would love to come back.

House was great with beautiful unobstructed sunsets over the ocean, but it was quite a distance from everything. The instructions for the house were very negative and we missed the chance to use the facility and all the gear they had because we quit reading after so many “don’t do this”. Luckily the owner was on site and was extremely friendly and helpful.

This lovely home is located in such a quiet and peaceful spot. The view is amazing and the home had everything we needed. We were unaware the pool was shared.
We made such great memories on the Big Island!

House and location are nice but listing is not accurate. They should be upfront and transparent with everything. We only found out once we got there the following big discrepancies:
- Pool is SHARED! with another property on the lot that seems to be managed by the same people. We were not told this until we asked after seeing other people in the pool
- House has NO Airconditioning! 2 of the rooms have undersized "portable" Airconditioning units that do not cool down the room sufficiently. The 3rd bedroom is unusable as it was 90 degrees at midnight in that room.
- Hand written note stating that they would rather us not use the washer and dryer.
- Hand written note saying that we can NOT use the jacuzzi even thought it is prominently featured in the pictures unless we want to pay an additional fees.
Overall, we did enjoy our stay, but did wish these things were stated upfront so we knew what to expect. Because the majority of the house did not have air conditioning I would suggest if anyone wanted to rent this house to rent it in the cooler months.

Excellent view with a deck and a pool
One of the best places with a wonderful view of the ocean, mountains and sunset. Most relaxing home with wide deck and a pool. Nice beaches are also located within 10 min range. All of us ( 4 adults and 4 kids) really enjoyed the stay.

Great Stay
Beautiful property with amazing views. Kitchen had everything that we needed to cook, also has a barbecue. They have added a pool that we didn’t even know was there which was an added surprise. They have lots of chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas and beach towels- only 10 minutes from Mauna Kea beach which is our favorite. Some previous reviews mention it being hot, but they have added some air conditioners for the upstairs rooms that help. Great afternoon views of the sunset while poolside. It’s a given- use bug repellent for the mosquitoes and sunblock to prevent sunburns. The caretaker is on-site and quick to respond to our questions. We’ve had a wonderful island Christmas. Thank you for the hospitality of your house.

Phenomenal sunsets
We loved our stay! The home is beautiful and functional, with plenty of kitchen supplies and linens for a crowd. The location is remote, so be prepared for that. We didn’t mind, and spent hours out on the lanai eating meals and drinking mai tais while the kids did endless somersaults across the turf lawn. Also, there are many amazing beaches nearby. We especially loved Mauumae to the south for a quick dip and beautiful sunset, and Mahukona to the north for fantastic snorkeling.
It does get warm, but thanks to several fans and a couple of A/C units we slept comfortably.
All in all a fabulous week!!

NOT the paradise that was described
I have never left a negative review for anything before. I do this in hopes that none of you out there will experience what we experienced at this location. Sure it’s a lovely home with a wonderful view but we could not enjoy it because there was Major construction work going on the entire time we were there!! even on Saturdays. Apparently they’re building a stone pool and hot tub. Every morning we were woken up at 7 Am with Bobcats, backhoes, huge dump loads of lava rock being Dumped off, non stop beeping and workers yelling. Horrible smells of exhaust fumes we had to close all the windows! In Hawaii!! and drapes since workers could be seen from all windows. Even master bedroom and bath and entire downstairs. this was not a small job. This home was anything but peaceful and quiet and absolutely no privacy, Until the workers left for the day. The description also does not tell you that it’s a shared driveway with another house, the property manager is living there, And they also rent it out to other guests.
again I would’ve expected to be notified about that since it is described as a home on 5.44 acres

This property is just breathtaking! The wrap around patio and option of outside table for dining overlooking the ocean & part of the island were beautiful. It made our Hawaiian stay so memorable! Bonus, there is a delicious mango tree right next to the patio. We are group of 9 friends and all have nothing but compliments for this property. The host is amazing, from communication to execution. Very clean and refreshing decor. Thank you for letting us stay in this gorgeous home. Mahalo!

Beautiful expansive views
This was a great location for us. Spencer Beach is only 4 miles with good snorkeling & nice beach. Hapuna Beach is also close. Easy drive to Waimea, Hawi & big resorts. The house is well appointed with nice linens, towels, etc. Since the house has no air-conditioning it’s not a good place to be in the day, but we wanted to explore anyway. Once they get their air conditioning and screens fixed, it will be fantastic.

Good place with some positives and negatives
Overall we had a good time in Hawaii and specifically this portion of our stay was good. Great views of the ocean but be aware that there is no access to the ocean not even the rocky areas and the closest access is through the public beaches mentioned in the listing. Also not many shops around so to get anything decent you have to drive 20 mins.
There were some positives and some negatives for our stay.
Positives
1. Very well maintained house and beautiful looking.
2. Responsive owner
3. Very well stocked with linen, cutlery, bathroom supplies (missing bath soap and shampoo but not a big deal)
4. Kitchen had lot of utensils and tools.
5. Lot of board games
6. Good internet connection and tv had Netflix and prime video subscription
Negatives:
1. This house definitely needs an AC as it started getting really hot inside the house and staying in during day time was really uncomfortable, there are a few fans around the house but with our party of 8 each room ended with 1 or 2 fans and fans are not great for time when there is no cool breeze outside.
2. This house is in middle of nowhere and has lot of dry land around it which brings a lot of geckos around and in the house which meant we had to keep windows closed which made the above problem even worse. Also lot of mosquitoes meant that even though the windows were closed we got a lot of bites on kids specifically the infant got troubled a lot.

Spectacular views, fabulous amenities
The Wolfe home was a wonderful place for us to spend our on-Island birthday staycation. The house is beautifully appointed with high quality furnishings and chef-worthy cookware. We enjoyed the use of their beach gear, even though we brought our own from home, because theirs was better! The view of the ocean, the lovely breeze, the sound of francolins, saffron finches, and other local birds, combined for a relaxing symphony of the senses. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who want to experience luxury in a private setting.

live like a local
lovely spacious home. Wonderful for entertaining and lots of space for a family or 2 couples traveling together. Lots of games to play while enjoying the home during a BBQ or dinner party. It is a minimum 10 minute drive to nearest beach and closest grocery store is 25 mins away but the nearby gas station has essentials that can get you by. This is a newly refurbished home that is very comfortable and spacious.

Amazing Elegant Home
Wow where to begin....the home is situated east of the road with a beautiful ocean view perfect for sunsets. The home features elegant and high quality decor, furniture, applicances and linens. The bed and bedding was excellent and so comfortable! Everyone slept so well and raved about the pillows and bedding. Everything looked brand new and the home was thoroughly cleaned. The home provides everything you need or could need and the communication with the owners is on point. Would definitely recommend!!

Peaceful & private home with a deck to die for
We were extending our trip to the Big Island by a week and felt lucky to find this home still available for Christmas. The bedrooms are all good sized and comfortable with fans in each.
With no AC, the fans were a big help and much needed. Even that late in the year, it was still pretty warm. The decor is top notch - very stylish and attractive...and the kitchen is very well equipped - we loved cooking there.
The deck out back faces the ocean and has a large dining table and umbrella plus other chairs for you to just sit out and take in the view. We ate outside all the time. Lovely. A friendly neighborhood cat came by for some food and water and kept us company. Very sweet.
The home is easy to find and very comfortable, but do listen to the owners when they say that the winds can kick up. Our last night was spent on the dark when high winds blew sand in through the door, knocked over a lamp, and ultimately knocked out the power for 12 hours. It was uncommonly bad - 2100 homes list power that night...but that has nothing to do with the rental - they didn't create the windstorm.
Nicely located minutes from the Mauna Kea resort where there are nice publicly accessible beaches and a couple of nice restaurants and the ice cream shop at Kawaihae is awesome. It's also a pretty short drive to Waimea, so it's easy to do little excursions.
If you absolutely have to have sure conditioning, this may not be for you, but we loved it.
