About this cabin rental
This newer cabin is located near Hill City, South Dakota, and is at the center of everything the Black Hills has to offer!

Whether sharing this cabin with kids, friends, or a snoring spouse, the two bedrooms on opposite ends of the building providing a little added privacy. On one end, the bedroom houses a new, comfortable king bed and a large closet made to resemble the side of a barn. The other bedroom is adjacent to the bathroom and is more cozy with a queen bed under a reclaimed metal ceiling. Linens are provided as well as nice comforters.
The one bathroom is sizeable with a 5 foot shower and a 4 foot vanity and more reclaimed metal on the ceiling. We provide towels, wash clothes, a floor mat, and hand towels. Upon request we will exchange used towels for fresh towels. Toilet paper and liquid hand soap are also provided but personal hygiene items such as shampoo and body wash are not. A hair dryer is available upon request.

A coffee maker and filters are provided as well, however, we do not provide coffee, sugar, or creamer. Dish soap, a dish scrubby, and a dish towel are provided as well as paper towels. The hickory cabinets support a large peninsula with a large nice single basin sink and also provide seating for four guests.
In the living room area guests will find a couch and chair for lounging after a long day of sight seeing. An elongated electric fireplace for additional heat or ambience sits below the wall-mounted television with Dishnetwork to provide additional entertainment.
Air conditioning is provided in the living room and ceiling fans will be throughout the cabin to help keep things comfortable during the summer. In the cooler months a combination of a heat pump, cove heaters, and the electric fire place keeps this tiny cabin nice and toasty.
Outside there is a picnic table, charcoal barbecue, fire pit, and refreshing views of the surrounding thick pine forest of the Black Hills. Loved our time in this cozy little home/cabin just outside of Hill City. It could not have been more perfect. The couple that owns these properties live onsite and are available to answer any questions. They have a bunch of chickens which were super fun for my son to feed each day. Also there is a small lake within walking distance that my son loved to fish at. The home is updated, clean and beds are super comfy. Highly recommend staying here!

A truly wonderful experience. My kids and I stayed at Cabin 1. The pictures online are exactly as appears when we arrived in-person. It is beautiful, clean and feels brand new. The Kenaston Family were gracious and helpful hosts during our 4 night stay. The location is perfectly located in the area as well. Memories to last a lifetime.

Cabin 5 at Robins Roost was awesome, and the owners of the property for the last 7 years are amazing! This cabin is the only one I believe that is as updated and modern as it was. Very cute, clean, with amazing fireplace, "mini-split" heater and a/c in main room. All of the other rooms, they said were "cove heat" and each room had its own thermostat, which was great because we enjoy our bedroom cool (we stayed in April and were able to open our windows, which was SO NICE!) but bathroom warm. This cabin has 2 bedroom and they are on opposite sides of the main room, which is nice for a little extra privacy if traveling with others (or a for a break one night from a snoring hubby!) The owners thought of almost everything when updating this cabin, and I highly recommend it!
Just know that it IS a cabin more than a typical vrbo, so there are very few "added amenities". There are no condiments in fridge (but there is an amazing local grocery store called Krull's just inside Hill City, or bring groceries from Rapid City or your home. There are no little shampoo or soap bottles, no hair dryer or iron, etc. I also do not know how a person would plug in an electric car, especially with the small, awkward parking spot for this cabin (cannot have more than one vehicle parked up at this cabin, nor would a camper or trailer of UTV's fit near the trailer -- the owners MAY have an alternative spot you can park those, however- i would contact owner before considering any of these items.)

The owners are very nice and the cabin was excellent! They had anything that you need and many items that are not expected. Beds were comfortable. The heating was wonderful and included a fireplace. For a very picky 60 year old this was a perfect place. It is convenient to anything Custer. Shout out to Silver Dollar. The owners suggested and was spot on for amazing food.

They did try to be accommodating. Liked that but from the beds, spiders, sewer smell…. Not a lot of kitchen tools. We did try to go the cheep way and we did. We have learned.

This cabin was the perfect location for our BH trip. My husband and I came out for a SXS trip and were planning on riding trails out of Hill City and out of Nemo. This cabin is a newer build with all the amenities we needed. Owners live nearby, very friendly and quick to respond to questions.
We will definitely be back!

The cabin was brand new, clean, comfortable and very cute. Everything worked as it should and had every amenity we could need. The hosts were excellent. They told us about all the local dining options and cool sites to see. They came and chated with us around the fire most evenings about our day and we loved the chicken friends we made. And Charlie the pup!

We loved our stay! The cabin was very nice, clean, and had everything we could have needed while away from home. Great location with wonderful hosts! Check in and check out process was super easy as well. We cant wait to come back to Cabin 5!

The cabin itself is very nicely renovated inside, however the back door to the outside was not finished, when you opened it the ground dropped behind and could be dangerous for little kids. Just not an ideal situation for little kids to stay here. Also there was construction right in front of the cabin, which caught us off guard. We were expecting a little more privacy. It just seemed this property wasn’t fully ready, some small touches could really make a different. Overall we had a nice stay it was close to tourist sites. The host were friendly and checked in. Some friendly recommendations for a nicer stay:
More towels provided for people staying more than two days as there is not washer on site, fully finish backyard for safety, a small dresser for clothing in rooms, bathroom rug outside of shower, blow dryer in bathroom, and list the construction on the site so people are aware before.
Thank you for our stay.

Clean and new property just off the main road. The Hosts greeted us warmly shortly after our arrival.
Close to downtown Hill City, as well as the sites: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Cosmos - we did them all, as well as Custer state park. The accommodations were very comfortable and my boys enjoyed playing with the chickens outside (fresh eggs for purchase).

Robins Roost was perfectly situated for all our activities. The owners are very attentuve and are continuing to upgrade the property since they purchased it. We enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast and the hens walking around. Smores around the campfire with wood that we purchased onsitre. Great conversation with the owners. Thanks Matt and Beth for your kind hospitality, accomadations, and recommendations. We will be back as we needed more time to experience all the fun. Highly recommend staying at Robins Roost!

Just as expected—spotlessly clean, brand new cabin; perfect location for seeing the area attractions. Only downside is spotty internet, but not surprising given location—and who needs internet on vacation??

Very nice place to stay!! The owners were so friendly and Condo was clean and newly remodeled!! We enjoyed the view, grill and fire pit too!! The area was in the center of lots of things we wanted to do, right off the Hwy. & couple miles from Hill City!! So happy we stayed there!!!

My wife and I stayed there during the Sturgis motorcycle rally. We really enjoyed the cabin at the end of a long day of riding. The property owners were very friendly an accommodating. The gravel driveway on a hill wasn't ideal for a motorcycle, but it was manageable. Overall, very nice place to stay when you're enjoying the beauty of the Black Hills.

This cabin was very clean and updated! It was a very nice place for 4 people to stay in. Everything was updated throughout the cabin and it had plenty of space for 4 people to stay comfortable. The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming! The location was great and close to many attractions, it was a little off the highway so the traffic wasn’t a bother, but close enough for convenience. I would recommend this cabin for anyone visiting this area.
