This house had everything you need for the perfect vacation. View, games, walks, hot tub, if you cook- a well Supplied kitchen, TV DVD player, movies, books, fire pit and even paint for rocks! A perfectly restful week! Close to attractions such as Harrah’s and seeing the Elk at dusk! I highly recommend!

The house itself was lovely. However the gravel, narrow road with bliind corners was dangerous and unfortunately caused us to have a collision with another local vehicle. The road noise from the highway across from the river and property also took away from the serenity of the river. Also, be aware there were no top sheets provided only bottom sheets and a quilt/comforter. And no clothes hangers. We were told this is normal for this rental group. These things would prevent us from rebooking this house. It’s unfortunate, as it has potential to be a great rental otherwise.

This is a wonderful place to have a family vacation. The only down side is the traffic across the river. The road going in is gravel but it's in great shape. Will be booking it again

This house checked all the boxes when looking for a rental. What a great place and excellent memories were made during our stay. The Tuck being at your back door was so fun especially traveling with kids. We fished hard. The Great Smokey Mountain Rail running right behind the house was an added bonus.
Great furnishings, bedding, beds ect. We will be back.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Full Stream Ahead for my graduation weekend! The house had a lovely view and plenty of space for my family and guests to be comfortable. Hot tub was in good working condition contrary to what other reviews had mentioned, however, the overall cleanliness of the home could have been better upon arrival. Driveway was not terrible after rain and plenty of parking space. We were also able to walk ten minutes to the walking bridge for some amazing photos over the river.

Lovely spacious home, rough road to access. Once at the house it was roomy, the river was very calming and plenty of games provided inside & out. Very nice, quiet get away.

came in town to view daughters wedding venue, place was clean and close to venue!

This house was absolutely perfect, a great spot to have friends/ family. The overall check in process was ok, when we arrived we found the hot tub half open and not turned on which was a bummer. It took about 24 hours to reach proper temp. The lights where out, I think a breaker was tripped. The house is well stocked. We enjoyed our stay.

Right on the river with a fire pit and small deck as well, to hang out at rivers edge. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay complete . This house is a
short 10 minute drive to Dillsboro , Cherokee is about a 20 minute drive. Under the house is a great place to hang with horseshoes, Hot Tub and grill .

The stay was nice , loved the river , although I don’t believe there are any fish in that water . Fished all 3 days , 6 of us fishing , not one fish was caught , not even a single bite . The grill didn’t work , only the front part of the burners would turn on , and only on low , the oven took over an hour to cook fries at 400 degrees and pizza took almost 2 hours cooking two of them at 400 degrees . The house had animal hair
All over the place , the floors didn’t look like they had been swept or mopped , ceiling fans were dusty and dirty . There was hair all in the downstairs shower , the hot tub wouldn’t get past like warm and had a mind of its own when it came to turning on or off by itself . The power shut off due to the breaker blowing several times throughout our stay , went without hot water one night and the fireplace didn’t work after the first night , the tv didn’t work either til the final night , I think there’s something going on with their electrical for all of those items to be Messing up . Overall nice place ,
The drive to the house is terrible , don’t take a low car . And get what you need before you get to the house . Would definitely go again if the issues above were addressed .!

The creek was great. We were able to build a fire.

We loved the house. The view, fire pit by the river, everything about it. Has everything you would want. It does have the busy noise from the highway but didn’t bother us at all. The ride in is long but it’s the mountains so that’s expected! So close to Cherokee and we went out and explored each day. We had a great time.

House was really clean. Had everything you need for a weekend of fun! Does take 5 minutes from main road down bumpy road which is common in the mountains. Will definitely be a returning guest!

We absolutely loved our time at Full Stream Ahead! Getting there in a Prius was….fun, but once there, it was hard to leave everyday!
As everyone has said, it’s tricky to get to the property. But if we could do it, you can! Unless you have no clearance under your car. Seriously, you will probably hit bottom a couple times and maybe take a wrong turn. But it gets easier. More signs would be good.
The house, though, wow! Drinking coffee in the mornings and having dinner on the porch was the best. The highway noise was never bad, and the stream was so nice! Honestly have nothing bad to say. Everything was well-appointed and very clean as well!
Do yourself a favor and stay for a week. You won’t want to leave!

My husband and I wanted to do something we’ve never done before for our 30 year anniversary. We decided Harrah’s Casino would be fun. Our children, age 21 and 16, came with us for a few days then left so we could have a couple of days to ourselves. Full Stream Ahead is a beautiful home. It was clean and well stocked for any cooking that we wanted to do. Hot tub was a lovely, relaxing feature. Due to the late August weather being warm, we did not get a chance to utilize the fire pit but can imagine how nice it would be to sit around and socialize. I read many reviews before booking. Here is what I would say, the road noise is loud. If you’re used to it, it won’t bother you and inside it is quiet. Unfortunately, it did drown out the beautiful river. We enjoyed the view and had a wonderful time but did miss the quiet and being able to enjoy the rushing of the river. The train… we only saw one time, and it was fun waving at the passengers. The drive in and out to the main road is tricky. My daughter did just fine in her Chevy Trax, and a smaller vehicle could make it but it wouldn’t be fun. A truck, Jeep, etc is better. It is not wide and you must pull over if you meet another vehicle, only happened to us two or three time and luckily, where we could pull over with ease, or the other person could for us to pass. We did lose power but after calling vacasa, the manager got it taken care of quickly. Overall, nice space, good views, but a little loud outside. Great trip!!

Beautiful house and overall an enjoyable stay. House was surface clean (beds, kitchen items, furniture surface). However, behind the furniture there were massive amounts of thick dust, the couch was dirty to the point we went and purchased cheap blankets to cover them so we could sit on them, the cushions on the dining room chairs were detached and would slide off if you weren’t mindful of them, cobwebs in most high corners, and door knob areas and baseboards were discolored from layers of dirt and grime. Washing and dryer worked great. Hot water was good. Well lite around the house and by river. Hot tub was nice once we realized it took about 24 hrs to heat up. Road to home is definitely an adventure. Dirt road to home does not accurately describe the very narrow, very rough road you are required to take to get to the home. It is doable but for anyone coming in a low car or unfamiliar with mountain dirt roads might have issues navigating all the drainage pipes that cross the road continuously and narrow road. The home is VERY isolated from the main highway, so guests should take that into consideration if someone in your party might be at a high risk for needing medical attention. We were able to swim and fish which was the main reason we selected this home.

We had a great experience and stay at this home. It is down an unpaved road that can be a little rough at times for a non 4-wheel vehicle. We also got a little confused trying to find the property even with the directions. The home was perfect for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. We loved the fire pit and horseshoes!

Loved the house location is a little difficult to get to but it was worth it. Wifi and satellite are garbage had to end up using my phone to connect to watch TV ( 2 kids ). Everything else was great. Could not get fire place to work at all sent multiple text to the number that text me with reservation details no reply but we managed.

This was a nice location, located near a main road however the noise is not so bad. There is also a railroad close but we only saw a train twice during the night and mid morning.
There is a single TV so if you are staying with multiple people and relax with TV this may be an issue. The hot water heater needs to be adjusted to accommodate more than one person. We were a family of four and only one person could shower in a 45-60 min internal, I don't have this issue at my home with the same size water heater tank. The towles need to be replace, they are compared to sandpaper, also please add a dark colored towel for makeup all towles were white. I also suggest putting down some throw rugs in the restrooms for the COLD nights! The bed were super comfy as well as the couches. We loved the creek, firepit, hottub and little hammock. The driveway is steep and all gravel and SUPER long during our stay we encotunred one person and they were able to backup. Overall our family would stay again we would just bring our own towels and extra trash bags!

Nice home with everything you need. Enjoyed the River with its deck. Very clean. Had Wi-Fi and Dish TV. Couldn’t think of anything it was missing. Enjoyed our stay. Thank you! Tommy

Be prepared for a little off road. The way in is a single road and quiet long. Get your food before you get there or while your out because it is not somewhere you can get in and out of quickly. We loved the place though. The gnats were bad near the river and got into the house so make sure to keep back door closed. We had the windows open the whole trip and the breeze was wonderful. Look forward to staying here again!

Loved the isolation away from the hustle and bustle of city life.A beautiful spacious home perfect for me and my husband as well as nature lovers. We walked the railroad tracks behind the home as well as relaxed on the deck by the river and lit a fire in the fire pit.

House not very clean. Advertisement said fish hatchery on our river- no fish at all. Had fridge stocked to cook dinner last evening and next morning breakfast before check out but we had no power or water. Had to throw away all the food. Could not contact anyone due to no internet. Location was beautiful though

Stay at Full Stream Ahead, Whittier, NC
It was a beautiful house. Very clean. Lots of room for everyone. The stream and the fire pit was nice. The highway is visible from the house. It is on the other side of the stream and can be a little noisy. It didn't really bother us though. ☆The only problem I had with this property is the driveway in. It is a single lane dirt road that has many humps and bumps. It is a long drive through the woods. It took me 6 minutes to make the drive in and another 6 minutes to drive out if we wanted to go somewhere. We didn't really want to go anywhere because of the trouble getting in and out. But overall it was a nice stay!

Nice getaway.
Love the fact it was on the river. Neighbors very friendly and helpful. House was clean. Unfortunately a couple of issues we reported on arrival did not get resolved until last day of trip.

Fun weekend
The house was really nice after the adventure of getting there. We loved the water view. My 4 year old grandson loved seeing the train go right by the house. Beds were very comfortable. Wish I knew what kind of mattress it was.
Internet/wifi slow. TV in BR would be nice. Overall we loved it.

Highway traffic noise
Nice place but traffic noise was less than desirable.

So, we tried to find a cabin in the mountains last minute and stumbled across this home. All in all, this home wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best I've stayed in either. We made the best of it with our two families and appreciated the fun little touches they added to help keep everyone occupied outside of downtime.
Pros:
Fireplace
Stream for fishing
Nice set up under the house for games, lounging, etc.
Okay floorplan for two small families to share
Close to Casino
Cons:
The location could be better. No mountain views and right next to the main highway so a lot of road noise. Stream does help drown it out a little, but still very loud. Additionally, it's next to train tracks, but the train rarely comes by.
Looks like the yard was recently renovated and there wasn't grass, so it was a bit muddy with just straw down.
The road coming in is an adventure... Got turned around a couple of times and was very rough on our car.
Not much to do in the surrounding area other than Casino, but if you're visiting to relax and stay put, then this is for you.

The River zhouse
The house was perfect! It was just as the listing states. It’s in a great location for a central point for many day trips. The river here is just beautiful! The traffic noise from the highway is definitely there but doable. The directions into the house for the first trip in are difficult to follow. It would be nice if there were more signs or landmarks listed. The only issue we had was the fireplace did not work. I notified management and was told it would be corrected for us and it never was. I texted and called. It was sad to have cold nights and no fire to enjoy. However, everything else was perfect and we totally enjoyed the place.

Great Smoky Mountains
The house is clean and inviting. The view of the river is great. It is close to the highway, but you get used to the noise level. The gravel road going to the property is well kept. Definitely a great place to stay if you like to feel more secluded. It’s about 15 minutes from Cherokee and about 20 minutes to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Highly recommend the Mingus Waterfall just outside of GSMNP. Short, but steep walk up to a 180 foot waterfall. Also recommend Clingman’s Dome and Charles Bunion AT trail. Recommend Cherokee’s Food Lion for groceries. The Cherokee Indian Reservation is dry, so keep that in mind when shopping for adult beverages 😉
