I loved the vibe. It's artsy and old in the best way and the staff was so lovely :)

Comfortable beds, big rooms, friendly staff and clean room

Very comfortable environment, with a retro atmosphere. Almost like you are a part of a family.
Could improve on cleaness and automation (e.g. for invoices).

Interesting place, with garden, comfortable rooms, good buffet breakfast.
Nothing to say here.

Lovely breakfast, prettily garnished with fruit and herbs. A good range. Things topped up as needed after early breakfasters. Very pleasant garden with bench and white clothed tables in the shade or sun. Enjoyable neighbourhood. Elegant salon feel dining room. Attractive rooms. Welcoming team.
It was fine for us but those accustomed to AC should consider the reality of continental summer weather in making their choice. We were there in heatwave and, being an old house, naturally there was no air con. The traditional method of closing the curtains avoided the heat of the day overheating anything. And we were out till evening when things cooled. I feel it is not fair when people complain about things they should have discovered before hand. Personally, there was nothing I didn't like! The hotel can be contacted directly.

Excellent breakfast, consisting of a large variety of options. Much better than in some average hotel.

Lovely staff, very helpful and ready to help you with anything. Nice location.
Once I turned on the lights, there were many flying ants coming from somewhere. I believe staff should have this in mind. It is not pleasant.

Breakfast was a train-wreck. Coffee was metered out as if it was gold. The hotel featured a back garden and when I sat in a bench enjoying the garden at sunset I was watched by one of the staff as if I was a homeless person. There was confusion at checkout and it seemed like they were about to charge me double for the room - they did not. Other than the pictures of writers on the walls there was NOTHING "Literatur" about this hotel that I could decipher. The decor was outmoded and the rooms need a massive improvement/overhaul. I felt more sorry for the staff than disappointed. The location is quite remote on a back street even though it is presented as if it was in an ideal location. Lessons learned. Do not stay in this matrix.

We wanted a hotel in Friedenau, and this was one of the few available. However, the stay really exceeded our expectations! The hotel has a great sense of charm and personality, with very nice individual furnishing and a very cozy atmosphere. And most of all it had a very, very friendly staff who were always eager to please and to accommodate us!
It didn't bother us (more like the exact opposite), but if you like minimalist design and want everything to be super clean and tidy, this place is perhaps not for you.

Great style and atmospheric 😍 I will come back!
I got a single room instead of a double room in the end. I didn't care so i accepted.

A wonderful and comfortable hotel in the outer district of Berlin.
The price is a little high for the amount of time it takes to travel to tourist spots.

It was excellent for our needs. A small family-run hotel in a pleasant residential area close (5 minutes walk) to the S1 station (Friedenau) also with a U9 station in easy walking distance. Plus very close to a good bus route. Corner shop for any immediate needs, and lots of other shops close by. The hotel is situated in a pleasant and leafy area which felt very safe, and there is a pretty café and a good-looking restaurant by the station. We didn’t try this restaurant, but it seemed very popular with the locals.
Lovely large and pretty room with antique-style furnishings, including a large bed, small sofa, dressing table, large wardrobe, table and chairs. Spacious bathroom. All very clean. Good buffet breakfast included, with fresh fruit, yogurts, muesli, pastries, bread, croissants, boiled eggs and a selection of ham, cheese and jams. A good start to the day!
We were later than expected for check-in (which is until 10pm) but the owner was very welcoming and waited up for us. We don’t speak any German, but we were able to communicate comfortably in English.
There was no air conditioning, but even though the weather was extremely hot during our stay, we managed with the windows open at night. The street below is very quiet so this wasn’t a problem. The towels were a bit small and quite thin - a bit surprising for a hotel these days. It’s not pretty from the outside, but it has a lovely garden at the back and it is pretty inside, so don’t let that put you off.
If you want a lounge or bar area, this is not for you - the garden is the only communal space. Plenty of tables and chairs if you want to sit and bring your own drink. No tea or coffee making facilities in the bedroom, which is standard in a German hotel, but it also took a while on some days to get hot drinks at breakfast, and on one day I wasn’t offered any tea at all, as the owner was busy with other guests.
