Danke Walter!

This was by far one of the best (if not the best) places we have been to. Everything was perfect - location, accommodation, food, service and most of all the hosts! Such a lovely family who made our stay exceptional, giving us a boat tour of the area, telling us the history of the islands and how its all made. We really regret not staying longer as it was such a great experience. We can highly recommend staying here with this wonderful host family, thank you so much for everything!

The whole experience was incredible. The hospitality of Walter and his family. Beautiful and quiet location, delicious food, comfortable bed, very nice terrace.
As you might expect it’s very cold during night, but there is a heating that helps. The bathroom is always cold though.

The lodge is beautiful. Very comfortable and beautifully furnished. Plenty of spaces to relax both inside and outside and excellent view of the sunset. Walter and his family made us feel at home straight away. They were so welcoming and friendly and taught us lots about the floating islands. The food was also delicious. Hot water bottles at night, a trip on the reed boat and seeing Walter’s museum made our stay even more special. We would highly recommend the lodge. a fantastic place to relax and unwind.
We loved everything.

We absolutely loved our stay at Walter’s lodge on Lake Titicaca. The room and outdoor seating area are beautiful and super comfortable. Also, Walter and his family are so lovely!! His mum Maria cooks the most delicious food (we’re vegetarian and that wasn’t a problem at all) and we were so well looked after from beginning to end. Highly recommend!!

The stay exceeded beyond expectations!
First, Walter and his family were incredible hosts. He was kind, thoughtful, and responsive. Their family was so welcoming. Walter gave plenty of time to rest but also coordinated meals and activities. His father picked us up in a boat, then he took us on a traditional boat ride, telling us about the islands.
Second, the lodge is beyond amazing. It was incredibly private (they only have one in their space) and the bed is extremely large, warm, and comfy! The views are incredible and after passing by the other lodges, I can say Walter's lodge had one of the best views. Sunset on the terrace was really special.
Third, the food was lovely. They serve you in a cozy dining room that overlooks the water.
Last, just remember to bring cash to pay for your stay! Bring a little extra if you're interested in going on a tour of the other islands (not done by Walter but a partner which was not as good as Walter's guidance)

Walter gives you a tour around Titicaca and the food is AMAZING. the soup made by Walter’s mom is the best ever! note there’s no WiFi but trust me, you don’t need it! they have a cute little dog who’s super friendly too Iska :)

That is definitely the best lodge you could stay in the whole Lake, and Los Uros is a great place to stay ! Walter and its family have been absolutely amazing, nice, welcoming and sharing... They could for you, make you try the tortora, take you for a 1h30 private tour on the lake... you could not expect a luxury like this especially now it has been built by walter & his fathef ! All the best Walter and thanks again !!

This place is absolutely wonderful. I can’t recommend it enough. Walter and his family are absolutely charming, welcoming and you really feel happy as from the moment you put a step on walter’s boat to arrive on their island.
Bedding is great, decoration and landscape are just amazing, everything is handmade and just stunning. The food was really good, super simple, traditional and fresh. Everything you need when you are so high in altitude actually.
Walter and his family made some super nice activities and we had so much fun all together (specially dancing and taking pictures with traditional clothes). We really learnt a lot on their culture and despite our limited Spanish we always found a way to understand each other perfectly.
small tip, don’t do the same error than us, take the cash to pay for the room.
Nothing.

Walter and his lovely family brought us a beautiful, unforgettable stay at Uros Islands. He picked us up on time at the local port with his boat. The accommodation with fantastic view on the islands and the lake was large, really proper and comfortable with a huge bed. The shower was hot and the bathroom very generous. The meals were really tasty and served within a beautiful room with best view.
Highlights of our stay were the boat trip with the traditional boat through the floating islands and the informations and models of Walter about the building of the islands. They have a beautiful museum built by thereself on the island about the local flora and fauna all handmade with the local totora (reed).
We thank Walter and his whole family for an unforgettable stay at their place. We appreciated their amiable and welcome kind and could recommend to everybody to stay at this Walters Lodge.
