Acogedor y muy bien ubicado

Está muy bien ubicado y el personal muy amable y atento, los desayunos muy completos típicos de ahí. El mantenimiento de las habitaciones todos los días impecable. Lo recomiendo

Super recomendable

Los anfitriones Jose y Abdul han sido super cercanos y serviciales. Cuando llegamos nos acompañaron a por agua aun siendo muy tarde para que no fuéramos solos. El desayuno estaba riquísimo!!

Super!

Eine wirklich tolle Unterkunft für einen Aufenthalt in Fes. Das Highlight ist die Dachterrasse mit dem unglaublichen Blick über die Stadt. Mein Gastgeber Anwar hat sich toll um jegliche Angelegenheiten gekümmert und auch Vorschläge zur Tagesgestaltung gemacht. Da mein Rückflug sehr früh morgens ging hat er mir einen Flughafentransfer besorgt und persönlich Nachts um 1 Uhr durch die verwinkelte Medina bis zum Abholpunkt begleitet und sogar ein kleines Lunchpaket mitgegeben. Danke Anwar 🌟!

Alojamiento para repetir

El personal. El chico que estaba todas las noches hasta la mañana es súper amable, me ha ayudado en todo lo que he necesitado! El desayuno muy rico y abundante, servido cada mañana en la terraza con unas vistas espectaculares y la cocinera muy amable y agradable. La habitación limpiada cada día, doblando incluso nuestra ropa. La localización es muy buena, dentro de la medina pero junto a la calle principal y al lado de la puerta azul. Todo excepcional!! Si vuelvo a Fez, repetiré alojamiento sin duda!

A welcoming oasis in the heart of the Medina of Fes – highly recommended!

For a quintessential Moroccan experience and welcome, the beautiful Dar El Ouedghiri is an outstanding choice for anyone visiting Fes. Its central medina location cannot be beaten for accessing the must-see attractions of this fascinating city. Situated in a peaceful lane it feels very safe and secure. From the guesthouse, it is a short easy walk to Tala’a Sghira, one of the main lanes of the labyrinthine Fes el-Bali, which leads directly to Bab Bou Jeloud (‘The Blue Gate’). I stayed for almost a week and my bright airy single ensuite room was perfect in every way. Meticulously clean and well-maintained it had a supremely comfortable bed, a hot shower, excellent Wi-Fi and efficient air-conditioning. Other bigger and family rooms that I glimpsed also looked outstanding in their authentic décor. A rooftop terrace affords stunning views of this beguiling city. In common with most Dars the stairs between floors are quite narrow. Included breakfast, served between 9-11am, was a simple but tasty affair consisting of pastries, jam, honey, cheese, olives, fruit juice and coffee. I chose, however, to wake early and walk to the Blue Gate where a bowl of delicious b’sarra (a thick soup of broad beans) with a hunk of bread at café Broceliande costs just 7MAD Last but not least I have to mention the ever-friendly and smiling Salman who looks after the guesthouse in the evenings and mornings. He is a kind, caring and helpful young man who is both meticulous and conscientious in his service and a credit to Dar El Al Ouedghiri. Thank you, Salman! All in all, this is an absolutely superb choice of guesthouse and one I would very highly recommend and would very happily return to. My stay was perfect and my only regret is that I could not stay longer! I hope that one day I might return. Inshallah.

Magnificent place

We had a fantastic time in Dar El Ouedghiri: the place is magnificent, the staff is very professional, very nice and very welcoming and the position in the Medina is perfect. We spent a great time there! I definitely recommended this fantastic place!

Clean riad but poor services for breakfast

Location of the riad is good, as it’s not far from everything. The room and public area are in general clean

Breakfast service is in need to be improved/re-planned - the kitchen is on ground floor and rooms on different floors upstair. With limited number of staff in breakfast time, it’s not possible to serve most people that are staying at, and for my case mine was not even delivered after having been waiting for >1hr. The worst thing was the staff kept claiming it would take another 10min when asking when the breakfast could be served after 40min of waiting

A serene oasis in the bustling medina

From breakfast in a beautiful main room to the sun setting on the terrace, Tawfik and his family’s Dar is the perfect place to start your journey in Fes. I travelled solo in low season so everything was very calm inside and the area around, considering how peculiar Fes can be. Don’t hesitate and get ready to explore.

The best part of our stay was the lovely staff! Sultan really made us feel welcome, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great stay. Fatima treated us like family and her food is delicious as well, especially the vegetable pastella! They really go the extra mile to treat you as friends making your time in Fes memorable!

The bed was not the most comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was not very good. I suppose this may be because the building is older.

Overall a very nice stay!

We got a free upgrade to a larger room, since the originally booked room was pretty small and we were only staying for one night. The host is really friendly and gave us tips around fes. It can be a little tricky to find, but that's normal in Fes since there are a lot of dead ends google maps doesn't recognise. The local people are happy to point you in the right direction but be sure to say you dont need a guide! otherwise they might try to charge you!

There was a weird smell coming from the bathroom, but this was not a big issue.

highly recommend !

Sultan, our host, was WONDERFUL!! He made the whole experience for us. Great service, offered suggestions, scheudled our tours & rides, very kind and hospitable. the trip wouldn’t be the same with this experience. The lofted 2nd bedroom gave nice space for our family of 3. The meals and rooftop views/lounging for evenings and mornings was ideal.

Good firm beds. Expect “city” sounds anywhere. 0 complaints :). !

We are very thankful to the hotel and its owner. All together we had a perfect stay here. The room was clean including spacious and very clean bathroom. The service was great. Full recomendation. View from the rooftop one of the best.

Beautiful riad, nice breakfast and friendly host.

Don't take dinner in riad, because it cost 14€ per person. If you eat outside you get the same food for half prices and are bigger portions.

The staff at Dar El Ouedghiri were among the nicest, genuine people that we have encountered on a lifetime of travel.

The hospitality from the first minute until the last minute was exceptional. Tawfik was a superb host who catered for our every need from personally meeting us from our taxi on arrival, to printing out our boarding passes (paper copy required at Fes Airport btw) for return flight. He is a credit to the business. An optional extra at the Dar is dinner. We dined at the Fez Café and the Ruined Garden. Both were excellent BUT the cooking at Dar El Ouedghiri was better !!! No hidden agenda, just the plain truth. Madame Cook is a treasure. Overall loved this place, but the hospitality beat all.

Honestly can’t fault Dar El Ouedghiri. It was excellent.

Very nice place. If I ever came to Fes again I would probably stay here.

The Hotel is small and you get personalised treatment. Locations is awesome as well and the view from the terrace is breathtaking. It is aesthetically really nice place, very clean and very well decorated. The Host offers tours and can arrange pretty much everything for you, but you can do it yourself and find a better deal.

The price of massages are wrong. We paid 50% more at the hamam.

Staff was very kind and very helpful. The view from the terrace was amazing. The guide and the driver that we booked were also very nice.

There was a misunderstanding through our trip from Fes to marakkesh and we didn't stop to the waterfalls we were supposed to.

Unsafe Trip

We liked the room. But breakfast not rich such as marrakech. We get problem with people and the owner didn't help us for the location, which is not safe for us. and we payed other money to reach the riad.

The owner didn't come to pick up us from the nearby location,he said we should follow the Google maps but it's very hard to find the riad inside the medina. the people in the medina get us trouble, we didn't feel safe and they charged us 3€ just for show us the riad.
