Great pool, great breakfast, comfy beds.
Shower was a bit hit and miss but lovely and warm, when we got it working.

Staff were really attentive and go out of their way to help you.
Breakfast could be a little bit better and more updated rooms but beds were comfy and AC was good

We really liked the staff there, and they were very helpful and friendly. They served good breakfast at the hotel and the hotel rooms were very nice. The view from the room was amazing, and its location wasn’t far away from the beach or the restaurants.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable
The shower didn't work, it was barely a dribble. The Pool area is tired and dated and in desperate need of renovation. The Power kept going off. The overall atmosphere in the hotel was poor. The room is advertised as a sea view and I subsequently paid extra for this but this is a stretch, you can just about see the sea in the distance. It is about a 10 min walk to the sea down really unclean streets.

Colazione discreta, sempre uguale.

Spiaggia a 1km.

Aesthetically the grounds by the swimming pool look nice and are surrounded by palm trees.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, including the manager Khalid.
About 5 - 8 mins walk to the beach (depending on which side of Nungwi beach you are going to) so not far (hotels directly by the beach are at a premium so this place is more cost effective).
Supposed to be sea views from 3rd and 4th floor rooms but you can't see the sea.
Issues with plumbing in the bathroom. Shower drain got blocked every time I took a shower so the water came through the drain near the toilet and as a result, the whole bathroom floor got flooded each time.
You can use the shower in 2 ways: either the shower head, which unless you're between 6 - 7 feet tall is too high to reach and isn't adjustable or use the shower faucet, which is too low and therefore not at height level.
They gave me damp and smelly towels the first two days so I gave up and just used my own after.
Damp stains and marks on room wall.
There was a power outtage when I first arrived and it had lasted for about 6 hours (not their fault but worth bearing in mind as it might happen now and again).
WiFi cuts out sometimes (that might not be their fault but an issue with the area, but again worth bearing in mind).
No phone line in room so can't even call reception (I was told they are working on it and have ordered phones but there is a delay that is out of their control).
Aircon is placed directly above the bed so you feel it blowing on your face, so sleeping is uncomfortable.
Breakfast is basic (not much choice and one morning even gave us stewed kidney!) and dinner is expensive at $15 (compared to Stone Town hotels and restaurants as well as restaurants at Nungwi beach where on average its about $7-$10).
The hotel is near the bars and clubs in the area so you hear music in your room literally all night (the clubs are open until 4am - 5am). They seem to be open everyday.
There are lots of dogs barking from a compound next to the hotel and they are the most vocal at night. You hear them arguing very loudly from your room. The noise problem is not their fault but worth bearing in mind.
I had to ask for a new bathroom hand soap after the one I received on arrival was almost finished.

Very warm staff, especially girls in restaurant!!
Khaled was very friendly as well
Suggest to add more local music in restaurant instead of Arabic for more wonderful atmosphere.
There is no phone in the room to call to reception which is quite weird for 4 star hotel. Beach towels cost some additional costs as well as European socket. more suitable for 3 Stars.
Quite poor breakfasts. At our last day stay there they decided to paint smth on our balcony which bring some smell to the room and a bit glued me when I leaned on balcony railing.

The kidness of the staff and their manager, Khalid who ensured that we felt like he said at home.
The room was spacious, well equiped with fridge and AC!
Towels changed every day and room cleaned every day.
Private parking and nice swimming pool
The only point that I can raise as an advice rather than a bad comment is that the breakfast that should be improved, with much more choice, especially with sweet food ( cake, nutella, fruits, several juices etc…)

Rooms & Bed were good and clean
Food quality and variety was very poor. We had lunch on the day of arrival which was not worth what we paid.

I stayed at Malika Nungwi Hotel in Zanzibar during my trip. The hotel, run by Khaled the hotel manager and Mohammed, provided a pleasant experience with a great welcoming.
They took care of the guests well, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. The attentiveness to detail and commitment to service was noticeable.
The hotel staff were professional and polite, consistently providing good service. They made me feel welcomed during my stay, which I appreciated very much.
Overall, the experience at Malika Nungwi Hotel was very positive. The team successfully provides a comfortable stay with their helpful service and friendly approach. As a solo traveler, it was a satisfying experience. I would recommend Malika Nungwi Hotel for those considering a stay in Zanzibar.

Very neat well maintained hotel with lovely gardens and beautiful big pool.Very friendly helpful staff. Khaled the manager takes very good care of the guests. Muhammad is an amazing young man always willing to go the extra mile to assist.
Distance from beach...climbing many flights of stairs to reach our room.. A lift will make a big difference. Khaled did inform us that a lift is part of the additions.

Highly recommend this hotel, we stayed for 4 nights and it was such a lovely stay! The hotel is fab, staff are so nice and the owners are so friendly and helpful, they really make time for their guests. They really went above and beyond to look after us as a group of 3 girls. They couldn’t have done any more for us.

The rooms were very well kept, the wifi and air conditioning were perfect, and the staff were overwhelmingly kind and generous! Khaled was the consummate host. He helped us plan activities, brought in specific food items at my friends' request, and always greeted us with a smile and a kind word. Would absolutely return to this location!
