ABOUT THE COTTAGE
Enter this brand-new, yet quaint cottage through white barn doors. The open-concept floor plan welcomes you with red, heated concrete floors, natural light, and designer décor.
In the spacious living room, you’ll find a sofa, love seat, and a red leather chair. Invite your friends over for an evening of games and sampling of local craft brews. Or make hot cocoa and snuggle up with your mate in front of the 64” flat-screen TV for a movie marathon.
The kitchen features granite counters, stainless appliances, and a 5-burner gas range. (There’s also a grill, stored out front—perfect for a seafood supper.) Grab a seat at the bar (4 stools) and sip a glass of wine while someone else does the cooking.
Follow the hardwood steps up to find a full bath with white tiled flooring and a tub/shower combo. The large vanity offers plenty of space to spread out.
Just beyond, the master features a king bed with white linens. Stay up to catch the late show on the 48” flat-screen TV.
You can pack light for this trip because a stacked washer and dryer are tucked in a closet in the bedroom.
On rainy days and cold nights you can stay occupied with the books, board games, Play Station, and complimentary WiFi.
This South Portland cottage combines comfort with charm and is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway.
Please note that all leases require a minimum 31-night term.
THE LOCATION
This brand-new cottage is located just 10 minutes from downtown Portland. History lovers won’t want to miss the Old Port, Portland Observatory, and Wadsworth Longfellow House. Stroll along the Eastern Promenade and gaze out at the bay.
When you’ve worked up an appetite, there are plenty of options for every palate. For an authentic waterfront experience, check out Andy’s Old Port Pub. If you’re in the mood for international cuisine, try Asmara, featuring the flavors of Eritrea. And for a sweet treat, Beal’s Ice Cream is always a hit.
For an over-water adventure, take a ferry or cruise to see the Casco Bay Islands. If you’re an aficionado of craft brew, Maine Beer Tours has you covered. And animal lovers will appreciate the Odyssey Whale Watch.
When you need to pick up groceries, there are several farmers’ markets that run from April to November. Deering Oaks Park (Saturdays) and Monument Square (Wednesdays) are 2 of the best.
Or stay closer to the cottage and visit the Ocean House Market, a local favorite, less than a half mile away. They offer fresh seafood as well as prepared meals and sandwiches.

We had such an amazing time at this property. Everything was very clean and stocked with all the essentials needed to have a great getaway. Very close to everything but just far enough away to feel like you’re not in the city. Will definitely be going back soon!

This is a spacious, beautifully appointed house designed for two. I was fortunate enough to meet the owner, who could not have been more helpful. The house is full of plants and surrounded with flowers and all manner of greenery. The only things that would have improved the experience were security features in the bathroom, like grab bars and a rubber tub mat.

Great location and adorable, cozy cottage. Close to the action but in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend.

I say “hidden” because this house is hard to find behind a wall of tall grasses without an address marker that can be seen from the road. I say “treasure” because it is otherwise lovely. The whole house is filled with well-tended potted plants. The kitchen is well stocked. The whole place is spotless. And the bedding is soft and cozy. Though it’s on a main road (which they tell you), we didn’t really here much street noise at all.

Charming cottage in a convenient location to area beaches. The cottage was thoughtfully decorated, with a well supplied kitchen. The proximity to burbling Trout Brook provided a calming offset to traffic on Ocean Ave. Comfortable bed and all was very clean. Our host was very responsive. The gardens were lovely.

We chose this place based on previous reviews. Not sure when a management change was made, but the previous reviews do not reflect the current status of this place. Positives-very cute entry with nice, though overgrown, foliage. Enjoyed the eclectic array of items in the home. Nice space for two people. Good location close to Portland but away from city noise. Vacasa personnel responded quickly and were all nice folks. Negatives- no lights on outside. The parking is unmarked and unlit, you have to hop the curb. Stepping stone walkway spaced too far apart to roll luggage is through overgrown foliage. Not clean - linens dirty, stained and ripped! Only one dry towel as all the others, folded and stacked in closet, were wet! We called both the owners and management company - owners did not respond. Lowest quality paper goods and no boxed tissue. Hopefully, the new management will up their standards and get these issues resolved.

The good is this is a spacious, comfy house. We were able to spread out. The bad was that they called us 30 min before checkin to tell us we couldn't get in for 3 more hours due to delayed housekeeping. C'mon. We've been traveling all day to get to you and you tell us 30 before checking in that we can't? We had dinner resos, how were we supposed to change? I asked for a refund. We'll see if we got a partial one. THEN, usually.... even in hotels they have a back up box of Kleenex or roll of TP. I texted them thinking it may have been locked away. I never got a response. We were literally down to 3 squares of tp.... nothing. For the amount we paid, we should have been able v to get in on time and have the comfort of knowing that they have back up supplies for us.

We had a wonderful, long weekend stay at this house in South Portland. It’s the perfect size for two, and it’s perfectly located between the South Portland beaches and the much busier scene over in Portland proper. We had our bikes with us and barely moved the car after arriving — we were able to bike to the beaches and lighthouses plus markets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.
Best of all, though, is the PLANT LIFE at this rental. Both inside and outside, the space is filled with gorgeous plants, from the towering clematis around the front door to the wonderful tropical plants found all throughout the house.
A splendid, restful little spot that we hope to return to.

Perfect house for a getaway!
My girlfriend and I wanted to visit Portland. I came across this home and although it is not in downtown, it is a very short drive to downtown. The property itself was very clean, well stocked, and modern. Perfect size for 2 people to stay. The check-in process was easy as well as the check out process. I would 10/10 recommend this home to anyone and I would stay here again if I ever come back to Portland!

Portland Vacation
Had a great time. A little road noise but not to bad. Close to downtown. We took an Uber into downtown about a 10 minute drive. Cheaper than parking. House was very clean. Only used the TV downstairs which was great.

Top Notch
Beautiful cottage in a location convenient to Portland. It was so quick and easy to get into Portland but also enjoyed biking around South Portland and seeing the lighthouses. The bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Our only complaint was that it was a little noisy because of traffic from the road.

Reviewer Comments:
This is a difficult property to review. The negatives I’ll mention can’t be remediated . The property was very clean and comfortable with many amenities. Very well appointed. The general location was perfect for getting around to the many sites in Portland. We felt perfectly safe. The owners were very responsive to our one and only question. We could not ask for a better property. However, prospective renters need to be aware of two things, one of which would’ve been a deal breaker for us had we known. The property is on a very busy road and very close to the road. The bedroom is not “sheltered” from traffic noise. If you’re a light sleeper or just bothered by constant passing traffic at 40 mph +, you might want to reconsider. The second item is parking. It was a challenge to find and navigate in and out of the spot while negotiating with the traffic. We had a sedan, and it might have been easier with an SUV to improve visibility. The description of the parking space location we received was not the best, especially when arriving after dark.

This was a lovely cottage that provided a cozy, homey environment for my husband and I for our weekend away. It had a great location, only 10 minutes from downtown Portland and easy access to lighthouses and beaches. Very quiet neighborhood and beautiful flowers surrounding the house!

weekend in south portland
we had a great time in south portland. this house was conveniently located to all of the places we wanted to visit. the house was very clean and all towels and linens were provided which was great - one less thing we had to pack with us! we loved that there was a grill at the house! the only thing we weren’t a fan of was not being allowed to park in the driveway and that the parking spot was on the side of the road on a busy street. also, we could only turn the downstairs TV on and off using the button on the side of the TV - the remote didn’t work, so it was stuck on one channel. and the TV upstairs didn’t have cable and we could only watch Netflix. overall it was a good place to stay for 3 nights - you can tell they put a lot of work into it!

We had a great stay here and would stay here again in a minute. The place was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and enhanced with dozens of plants that are being raised with care (and great light.)
