Easy checkin, very comfortable bed and pillows. Room was clean and felt good. No strange smells leftover from cleaning like so many hotels.
Parking in the garage below is difficult - very tight spaces for anything other than a compact car.
Location is wonderful- at the heart od many great restaurants and activities.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Front desk very friendly.

Nice friendly staff ! Clean quiet comfy , the only negative was left over food in the in room refrigerator…
2.5
We arrived very early but were able to check in which was great. Very convenient location to music venues so we didn’t even need a coat to get from hotel lobby to theatre. Friendly staff, we felt safe. Seems like there were recent renovations as things seemed clean and newer
2.5
The front desk was super helpful in securing me a late check out. Hotel had an amazing restaurant for breakfast and was connected to the IDS Centre from the inside - which helped avoid walking in the cold

Definitely would stay here again!

We were happy with our stay, in regard to service, comfort, cleanliness. The only negative issue was that the room we reserved/booked and paid in advance was not available when we checked in. It was a suite with a king size bed and handicapped accessible. They first put us in a suite but it was not handicapped accessible. Talked to the front desk and were offered a handicapped room with two queen size beds but it was not a suite. The front desk did give us coupons for a free breakfast and $15 off dinner, which was nice. We paid in advance, over $300 a night for 3 nights. When we checked out I asked about the price difference between the room we booked and paid for and the room we actually got. I was told since we booked it through Expedia I would have to contact them. Expedia did follow-up but were told by the hotel management there would be no refund on the difference in price in the rooms. Not sure of the exact price difference but I'm guessing it was $50 to $100 a night.

Great restaurant on the property. Very short walk to Target Field.

Good hotel. if you need room cleaning during the stay, you need to let them know or put a towel at door. Downtown area won’t make you feel safe. Light rail is convenient but unsafe

Desk staff were amazing. They were so friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff were also super helpful and welcoming. Food was delicious! Only reason I scored the property -1 star is because the toilet in our room was constantly running, so it sounded like a faucet was always on.

There isn’t any room service and the staff on the phone was just so unprofessional. Face to face they were great, however, I had a few questions after I checked into my room and the woman who answered the phone was just so short with me and rude.
It’s good for a budget traveler but if you’re used to good service then this place isn’t for you.

Hotel was fine. Staff was not very friendly or helpful except in the restaurant.

The hotel stay was really wonderful and the lady that checked us in was really nice and friendly, but my only issue was with the restaurant the chicken wild rice soup made my husband sick

We liked the decor and the staff. However the door to our room only opened with a hip check and the bed closest to the window was very sunken and in poor condition.

Fantastic hotel, friendly staff, good restaurant on-site with good food, friendly wait staff and host. If I come back to Minneapolis this will be where I stay again. Walking distance to target field, light rail system, Nicolett mall.

It was not so good, the 1st night we stayed. The nExt day we had no housekeeping, we got back at 10:30, nothing done no clean towels, garbage not emptied, my roommate called down and asked for towels, and we were told we would have to come get them, and the person hung up. On my roommate, I called back and asked why no housekeeping and no towels, I was told every 3 days they do housekeeping, we have to register, asked how. Come it was policy, why were we not told, no comment, I asked for towels, he said come and get them, I told him I would not come to desk, I wanted them brought to room.we then put dirty towels and garbage in the hallway. We had to do the same thing yesterday. And a hotel with 17 floors, only two ice machines. I will not stay there again, and I will let all my friends know as well.

Nice clean room, comfortable bed and property was close to Target Field.

In the heart of Minneapolis with all the conveniences near by. Just a 5 minute walk to Target Centre and Target Field. 15 minute walk to First Bank Stadium.
So many great restaurants and pubs a stones throw away but a real gem was the Paddle restaurant and pub in the hotel. Beers and wines were $5/$6 from 2-6:30 and great food too.
We felt super safe around the area even though there's a lot going on like any other city, just keep your wits about you.
Night life pretty much shuts down after 10 pm or after any event. The North Loop has a lot to offer and the trendy area is worth checking out. It's the place to stay if you're heading to Minneapolis.

The area after dark was a bit sketchy. We did not feel safe walking around. The hotel was awesome as was the restaurant and all of the staff. We certainly will stay there again if we get to Minneapolis.
Thanks to all of you for a wonderful weekend .

Great location but I’m not sure if I missed when booking however we were given an interior room meaning the window faced inside the building to a beige wall and we were unable to see outside. It was horribly depressing and I would not want to stay in that kind of room again.

I loved that even though it was Labor Day weekend with an event filled area, our floor was QUIET. So nice!

Overall a nice stay at the Sonesta. Our double queen room was clean, and the beds were fresh and firm. We had a front facing room that was also quiet enough, although we did occasionally hear some street and hallway noise.
The tv channels worked well, wifi was average. The bathroom was clean, well stocked and the water pressure was excellent. We didn’t need room service but was able to replenish supplies from staff whenever we needed. I’d stay here again if I can get a nice rate.
One big con about the DT area however (at no fault of Sonesta’s) is that nothing’s open over the weekend (not even Starbucks) and even during the weekdays the streets are filled with wandering homeless/mentally unstable folks. Not sure where the locals are, probably only using the indoor connecting tunnels but if that’s the case, they’ve successfully surrendered the streets to crime. For this reason alone, I may want to stay outside of DT next time (esp over the weekend).
