I would like Ritz Carlton to work harder to improve their guest services past the surface level. We had several issues with their various guest services. We had to call twice, then actually walk down to the concierge to ask for the third time before we got some extra towels. The property has a ski/snowboard boot locker of sorts on the lobby floor - the apparent purpose is to minimize their guest walking around in their ski wear - and they had almost misplaced my snowboard boots and went scrambling around 20 minutes to find them. This ended up costing me some early morning time on the slopes. Their obligatory valet is not great, taking around 20 minutes to get my car. When we were checking out, we called ahead for bell service but they never arrived. Look, it’s nice that there is staff all over the property greeting their guests and I appreciate their courtesy; but you are working with bunch of Silicon Valley engineers who are paying attention about some work being accomplished. I appreciate the politeness, but I wish that they would look into improving their guest services that deliver more tangible results.

The staff went above and beyond, from house keeping to the front desk, very professional and caring.
The bummer was one of the options to eat meals was under construction.

It was so small you could not even walk out on it.

Excellent services. Highly recommended for anyone or family

Great stay and wonderful service. There were a lot of amenities unavailable and only 1 restaurant open but the staff was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Loved the property but One important fact was omitted when booking ; $60 per day parking!!😳

The property by itself is 20min far from the lake. The picture of the lake in hotel booking pictures will confuse you, well just letting you know there is no lake or river around the hotel. It’s a totally different Ritz property that you can book separately from the hotel and stay there. They charge $800 per person and it’s only for 24hours or less to spend there. Yes I checked the map as well before I was booking and was wondering how come in the pictures I see lake in front of the hotel but on the map not.

I really liked our stay, and it was the best service ever.

The property is beautifully designed and appointed. Unfortunately, during our stay, extensive remodeling was being done in multiple places, with multiple areas blocked off, making it difficult to get from place to place. It seems they could have done just one place at a time. And the room service charges were absolutely ridiculous, with the add-on charges for delivery, etc. more than doubling the base prices, which were already high.

We were celebrating our anniversary and the staff went beyond our expectations, from little gift surprises to everyone being super nice and always helpful. Our 3rd trip here and will definitely be coming back again soon.

Not many dining options . Seemed short staffed. Our room had no robes and phone not working. Rooms only had 2 small chairs for seating. Left a day early just not very impressed for what the rates are..

The place is great, the staff needs more experience and level of service of a Ritz Carlton, they do not attend correctly at any Food and Beverage center, the worst being the Lobby.

Run down, food off and on...hot main, cold sides (that shouldn't be cold). Screwed up reservation, lost room, tried to fix it...staff was nice, tried their best, were a little green. I don't think I'd book this place again.

Convenient ski in ski out. Excellent ski valet.

Sadly there was a number of things that did not work in the residence:TV, fireplace, main light switch in bathroom, shower handle, microwave and dishwasher (broken glass in there). For a resort such as The Ritz Carlton this is really not up to standard. Staff was very friendly, but unable to fix these items after multiple attempts. Out of the three days we stayed, we spent more than half a day attempting to fix at least some these things. I would appreciate a partial refund - the property could not do so, since I booked via Orbitz.

Excellent, clean and well maintained. The staff is truly wonderful.

The hotel is very outdated with cracks in the bathtub and dusty carpeting - had allergies all night due to the dust.
Does not have a 5 star feel, small rooms with tiny balconies with hardly any standing room (no room for chairs or anything).
The staff was amazing, especially room service staff, went above and beyond.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe, and I must say, it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality from the staff.
The attention to detail throughout my stay was truly remarkable. Every aspect of the hotel, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the exquisite dining options, showcased a commitment to excellence that is unrivaled. The level of care put into ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of guests was evident in every interaction.
The staff at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to accommodate any request was truly commendable. It's clear that they take great pride in their work and are dedicated to providing a top-notch experience for their guests.
The location itself is a paradise for nature lovers, with breathtaking views and access to a wide range of outdoor activities. Whether you're a skier, hiker, or simply seeking a tranquil retreat, this resort offers something for everyone.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe to anyone seeking a luxurious and unforgettable getaway. This establishment truly sets a standard of excellence in hospitality that is second to none. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The housekeeping staff was extremely rude. She stomped into the room and yelled at us when ww asked for fresh towels and for our bins to be emptied claiming she was off duty and the front desk had summoned her 👎terrible experience. Never again. Do not recommend

Very overpriced. Unreasonable pricing on food as well plus high service add ons and fees. Backyard bbq restaurant took 1 hr for an order of a chicken sandwich, mac and cheese, chicken tenders. Cafe blue salad bowl had an olive pit in it that has likely cracked my tooth for which I now need to get checked. In room heating didn't work. Was cold first night. Second night we had to wake up a few times to turn the fireplace on/off to regulate the temperature. The grounds and views and location on the ski resort is great yes, but overall the place doesn't justify such high nightly rates.

Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Property ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Service ⭐️⭐️ From check in 5pm room not ready have to call 3x for extra pillows balcony sliding door knob is missing engineering took 4 hrs to show and fix after calling 2x
80% of staff are interns from another county
Good for them.
But to pay $1500.00 per night you expect Ritz Sevice
Food ⭐️ Christmas buffet $180.00/ea + 20% service charge
Food quality was like eating at $20.00buffet
Staff’s family was eating there too
Staff assigned to the carving station was carrying his baby while at work.

Great property! Check in took forever, need more food selections, but overall it is a great place.

We got a 1 bedroom suite - it was not worth the money - the couch in the extra room was outdated and not comfortable so we never even used the extra room. They made no special change for us. Everything else was great- staff friendly, clean l, amazing property

The spa was the only disappointment at this property. We were charged an undisclosed service fee of $120.00. I don’t mind paying it however, nothing was mentioned at booking or at our arrival to the spa. The spa is small and has a very limited couples area.

We had the best experience ever, it was my wife birthday and the manager gave us a special treatment , it was amazing.

If the hotel is going to claim to be a luxury establishment and charge accordingly, then they need to renovate the interior and hire/train representative staff. The guest rooms look worse than a motel and the Manzanita restaurant looks likes a diner at a rest stop. From the old orange carpet which look like it is at least 50 years old to the old furniture with chips, breaks, and scratches the rooms are totally aesthetically displeasing. Room service takes 1.5 hours. And you have to call again for utensils, salad dressing, etc.
One staff member, NIELSON in particular irked us to no end with his ineptitude, lack of sincerity, and all around terrible attitude. I repeat, his name was NIELSON. He is not worthy of working anywhere in the hotel industry. He is damaging the brand and reputation in so many ways. He needs to be terminated immediately. At check in, he gave us wrong directions and sent us on a wild goose chase all over the hotel to try to get to a an unimpressive event called "Smores and Stories". He also denied us the upgrade given to American Express Centurion cardholders by stating that the hotel was fully committed. He didn't even check the availability before giving us this obnoxious answer. By the way, the next day we inquired with the Guest Services manager and he upgraded us immediately. Most egregious of all was Nielson forgot to order my niece's birthday cake when the purpose of the trip was to celebrate her birthday!

The rooms decor and furniture are very dated with brown grimy looking carpet and brown and mustard colors. Doesn’t feel fresh and current.

We always talk about going somewhere else for our annual ski trip but end up going to the Ritz for the last 6 years. Unpretentious hotel, beautiful view, great service (Carol delivers our bfast every year and we love seeing her, always treats us like kings and queens) and sooo convenient to go ski whenever we feel like and go back to the hotel with no hassle. We were not crazy about the food at Manzanita this time, but absolutely love everything else!
