BEWARE - unless you book with the hotel you’ll have to pay £10 per person to use the Spa. Had we known this we probably would have booked another hotel.

The property is a little worn in places , room did smell a little damp
4.2
Great stay, love the place

Staff were very helpful
4.2
Lovely hotel in a great location. The staff were so warm and welcoming. Standards of housekeeping could have been better but overall, we were very happy with our stay.
4.2
Great part of Bristol to stay. Historical architecture of buildings and surrounding area was beautiful. Loads of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.
Unfortunately on entering the hotel we were not greeted with an enthusiastic, friendly member of reception staff. They checked our bag in and we were told to come back after 3pm. No niceties, hello's, welcome or any type of response that promoted good manners.
We returned at 3pm and checked ourselves in with a different member of staff who informed us that our bag had been taken to our room. This we thought was a nice touch, and she then took us to our room.
A small but comfortable room with just a shower (no bath) which to be fair we hadn't specified but was looking forward to a nice soak after a long tromp around the town. Thank goodness for air conditioning as the window didn't open. Very comfy bed and I slept like a log. Another nice touch was the complimentary water, tea and coffee facilities AND a decanter with a drop of gin. All very good for gin drinkers but we are not so feel we missed out a little on that one.
The meal we had in the restaurant was top quality and the best part of our stay. The crew were extremely attentive and couldn't do enough for us.
4.2
We normally love this chain but this time was very disappointing: the hotel wasn’t that clean, it’s a maze and super complicated to get to our room. The room itself was like a show box with no view and blinds you can’t fully opened so it was very dark.
4.2
Really gorgeous hotel - I was upgraded to a suite which was absolutely lovely. The Harbour Kitchen was great as was the spa in the basement. Would definitely visit again.
4.2
Lovely birthday stay and staff couldn’t do enough to assist. Would come again
4.2
The hotel was amazing, the staff were friendly and polite, helped us in any way they could. The room was fabulous and the location was perfect for walking to the harbour area. The restaurant/bar was amazing.
4.2
Amazing stay lovely helpful staff
4.2
Lovely quiet, comfortable room. Good spa facilities. Lift ideal as disabled. Had a wet room which was good.
Nice breakfast.
No parking but get discount for NCP carpark.
A nice break.
4.2
The room was tiny. Couldn't open the door, or wardrobe. Shower leaked. Was also next to a noisy hotel bar. The hotel was quite run down.
4.2
Perfect location, comfy bed — all housed in a beautiful historic building!

This is my 3rd stay at the Hotel and on a previous trip their were some issues which they more than made up for with a complementary upgrade to a Suite. Great room and slept well 😴
This is how you give service. If their is a problem you do something about it.
4.2
The standard rooms are very small. Service at the reception wasn’t overly polite as I’m used to when I visit the U.K.

Exceptional

Lovely hotel in a great location very helpful staff - loved my room I got a free upgrade which was a lovely touch
4.2
The room was small, there was no hot water for a shower, the room was difficult to access with multiple stairs and no lift, the body and handwash were empty or the dispensers not working. Overall barely satisfactory.
4.2
On the night of the 25th, there was a massive party going on beneath our bedroom, and we couldn’t sleep well. When we called the reception to say that we couldn’t sleep, we were told to use earplugs and that this was not their problem.
When we talked to the hotel staff in the morning, we were told that they would refund one night to our account on Hotels.com. However, I cannot see any refund or reward on my account.
4.2
This was a nice hotel overall, although some of it was cramped eg. the lifts and spa area below were very small. Nonetheless service was good and the rooms were in good conditions. There was some discoloration on carpets and other small things that suggested the place could do with a touch up.
4.2
Beautiful hotel, just a couple of let downs. Weren’t provided with any water in room just alcohol. No information on facilities in bedroom such as spa etc in room. Would call reception and would often not get answered. Also was not informed about breakfast times (information also not provided in the room) and consequently missed it by 10 minutes. Waited in reception for some time until someone finally came to the desk after we were trying to catch the eye of other staff members. Also no shower just bath which isn’t ideal for the mornings with two friends who don’t fancy sharing the same bath water having to run a bath empty and rerun another bath. No door on bathroom so very awkward when going to the toilet with your friend in the same room.
4.2
Reception staff friendly and super helpful. Room nice decor, clean and bed very comfortable
4.2
An amazing room with free standing bath and excellent matress; very comfortably. The only thing that let the bed down was the poor quality pillows. Good size room though with fantastic bathroom and double sink. Breakfast superb; best eggs royal I've had.
4.2
Nice room but very noisy. Didn’t sleep well with noise from the corridors and next door room.
4.2
Location was perfect for exploring Bristol. We changed rooms initially on arrival as first room was quite dark, but thanks to Jean on reception we were moved quickly Spa on site was a bonus. Would defiantly return
4.2
Faultless service from staff with whom we had contact. Lack of attention to detail from housekeeping which included dirty flannel left in shower, glasses and ice bucket not washed, victials not topped up and dusty head board.
4.2
Not worth the money. Windows looked directly onto another building. Not kept well maintained.

We arrived to what we though was going to be a well deserved relaxing break. Receptionist gave the impression we were an inconvenience. Asked us to follow him to directions to our room, we walked through the Dining Room then down 12 Steps and the up a further 14 steps to a lift without an offer of help with our luggage, we then entered a lift to the 4th floor. On entering our room we were so disappointed, the room was clean and shower room was adequate, but the main room area was the worst laid out room I have ever stayed in. In order to take our luggage round to the wardrobe area I had to move a chair which blocked the narrow corridor, you could only access one side of the huge bed without climbing over it. The bed was comfortable and decent bedding. It was not possible to lie in bed and comfortably watch TV as the TV was at right angles to the pillows wardrobe storage was ok. There was wooden blinds covering single glazed old steel windows which had the glass paints to disguise the no view, the headboard was covered in dust. There was renovations in the area of the property we were in (not advised at point of booking) the Spa Area is free if you book direct with Hotel but £10 per person per hour if you do not. We did not have any meals at the property but had a few drinks and bar Staff were pleasant. I would not recommend booking this Hotel as it falls way below what I regard as a 4 star experience. The location is good but the streets surrounding the property were dirty.

Not as nice as another Harbour hotel where we’ve stayed in the past

I have stayed here before but this time (so bad) Check in 3pm I didn't get into my room until after 5pm at the back of the hotel through the conference room upstairs and then downstairs. The room had whitewash windows. I was exhausted. I was told they were short staffed but still. I was given two drinks vouchers but only used one as too tired to use the other. I have to go to Bristol in the summer but I don't think I will stay at this hotel again.

Intimate hotel. Comfortable room. Nice touch with the complimentary G&T. Excellent breakfast.
4.2
Overall great experience
4.2
Hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Gorgeous rooms, friendly and helpful staff, impeccably clean and comfortable. The spa was excellent and the rooms felt grand. I got room service twice and enjoyed it thoroughly. I was upgraded to a deluxe room upon arrival and it was perfect. The complimentary fin and tonic was a lovely touch. I will definitely be booking with you again soon.

Beautiful rooms, hotel and spa. Had a very enjoyable stay.

This was a mini getaway for me and my fiancée. We wanted calm a relaxed stay and trust me this place delivered!
4.2
Lovely hotel in a great location for shopping theatre and restaurants and bars, all within 5/10 minutes walk. Spa facilities were good although with very low ceilings, which felt a bit claustrophobic. Our twin room was lovely, not huge but had everything we needed with very comfortable beds.
4.2
Very friendly and helpful Staff. Beautiful Hotel and Spa facilities. Restaurant food was superb too.
4.2
The shower against the window was unpleasant, especially as the window blind was damp and dirty. We also expected to have the small spa to ourselves since we had to book by the hour. Instead it was very busy. The room itself was awkward to find with no signage to help. Once inside it was nicely decorated and the bed was comfy.
4.2
Really disappointed with room we were given it was extremely small it was like an attic room no natural light extremely dark very hot as we couldn’t open the windows felt extremely claustrophobic in the room. Are friends also stayed there room was same price but so much bigger really lovely with a bathroom 3 times the size. Was very disappointed in our room. Spa was really lovely and hotel nice just our room was not good at all.
