Quite possibly the most guilt-free luxury stay we've ever experienced. There are protected sea turtle nesting sites on the hotel beach next to the chairs, the rooftop hot tub gives an incredible view of the night sky (which has less light pollution than expected), and the surprise birthday dessert at breakfast was a bonus. If you want to treat yourself and your loved ones, we can scarcely think of a better place, in Tulum or any place else.

Breakfast was excellent. Private beach was excellent. Hot tub on the roof with private area was an excellent touch.
Any drinks that belonged in the fridge weren’t cold. It meant warm beer and warm Coke. Tulum is so hot, even giving ice for the Coke meant it melted instantly. Whilst not unexpected, food and drink and everything within the locale was extremely expensive plus tipping was expected in a way that is unusual for Mexico so budget a lot more for your daily expenses than you’re expecting.

Nice and cozy place with a good location and great breakfast!
Everything was fine, except the see weeds which is a sessional thing.

The location, the layout and having our own private pool next to the beach was awesome.
Well not much other than the sea weed made it difficult to swim in the ocean as this stretch of beach is usually amazing but the hotel can't control that.

Everything!
The location is great, right on the Caribbean Sea. The rooms were beautiful and peaceful (no TV which was great so you can just unplug and listen to the sea. The service was wonderful, it felt like we were the only ones there by how personalized and quick the service was. They also had connections to great tours in the area and arranged everything. The food was delicious and healthy. And the spa was also amazing. If you want a peaceful and rejuvenating stay in Tulum, this is the place to go!
Plunge pool was not heated. So you'll have to time when you use that.

A small hotel with private beach access with lovely breakfast options. We loved our room too! It's own terrace with sun loungers and a hot tub :) They were sweet to acknowledge our wedding anniversary with complementary bubbly!!
Slight annoyance with how to order drinks/food as everything is done via WhatsApp and we were given an incorrect number, which meant a couple of our orders went unseen. But this was resolved fairly quickly!

Great location. Quiet yet close enough to good spots for food and a cocktail. Onsite team very welcoming, food at Frescos was very good also. Very happy with the overall experience.
Nothing of note

I loved how they made a point to keep in a quiet place compared to the rest of Tulum where there’s parties every night with big booming music blaring everywhere. I didn’t hear any music in the room.
there was no tv in the room. the weather was bad most of our stay so we were limited on what to do indoors.

I loved Cabanas. I've never stayed at a place that immediately had me wanting to return. Even on the stormy, rainy day, it was beautiful to go to the restaurants in the resort and watch the rain at the beach from our rooms.
The yoga classes are a must try and the guacamole at Fresco's was like nothing I've ever had before. We were lucky to go during Día de Muertos and were able to respectfully watch the ceremonies within the hotel.
Overall, the service was amazing as well.
WiFi was a bit slow but not the worst thing when you're on holidays.

Excellent service!.. Room was great with the plunge pool conected to main pool. Beach access is near and the beach area es great and relaxing. SPA is also great!
Everything was great, I just would recommend to have some music in the beach area and pool, some relaxing music and or easy going music. Also have waitress to do rounds in the beach area.

Everything!!! The room was clean, the balcony overlooking to sea was amazing, room service was great, the big pool and excellent service to order drinks by the pool. Our favourite part was the amazing breakfast included, so much choice! Also the free of charge invites to events at the hotel - salsa dancing and cooking classes! Not a single thing to complain about!

the breakfast in the restaurant fresco were exceptional, the staff OMG they were going above and beyond, we were celebrating our engagement and they decorated our room and gave us a complementary bottle of Prosecco
bit expensive but that’s everything in Tulum to be honest

Great facilities and well looked after, amazing service and friendly staff who makes sure you have what you need to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the facilities.
The breakfasts from their restaurant (Fresco's) are amazing!
I loved everything about the hotel however the council should do better for this hotel and other businesses around as it's a nightmare to go for a walk on the main street. There's not pedestrian paths so practically you become part of the car traffic and after it rains you get filthy mud splashed from the puddles as the street doesn't have drainage and is full of pot holes.

The location is great, in the middle of the beach strip, close enough to Tulum centro. Close to nice bars but without the noise.
The (very nice) pool was a good thing since the beach was impraticable due to the high amount of sargasso. It's almost not worth staying by the beach because of that unfortunately.
The breakfast was great, we liked to have the choice of 2 settings.
Like most of Tulum, it's very expensive. At this price, yoga could be included.
The 1st room we stayed in, bottom floor by the pool, was very humid to the point nothing was drying and smell woke me up at night... The one upstairs with tub we had for other 3 nights was great.

What a great experience! At the hotel we requested a room upgrade with beach view and a small private pool -- Worth it! The front desk was always attentive. The Frescos and Ziggys restaurants are also very good. Excellent breakfast.

We stayed at Cabanas Tulum for 5 nights. Everything was perfect. The room was very clean, the staff were wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and there were a ton of options. You could chose between two restaurants for breakfast. Breakfast was included with our stay and it exceed my expectations. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious, especially loved the Chilaquiles and the peanut butter spread.

Seaweeds so no swimming in the ocean

The hotel is beautiful and their pool is deep and a good size for a boutique hotel. Our room was beautiful and the views are great. I got sick from the catch of the day and it was discounted from my tab. they sent a doctor and checked in on me constantly. I appreciated the attention. my husband and I really enjoyed the wet areas in the spa!
I found it really expensive, but Tulum is really expensive nowadays. Everything is charged in dollars.
