Porchlife is our new way of living! We spent so much time enjoying the round, social and covered porch at the house that we missed it when we left!
The location of the house is absolutely brilliant! The walk to Alki Beach was awesome and the water taxi makes it so easy to get downtown if you want to. It's the best of both worlds!
The house is a heritage home, so expect it to be old with original features, quirks, nooks and crannies and creaky stairs. It wasn't quite as clean as we'd like, but it never bothered us as it's such a great spot and size of house with lots of space and has a lovely feel to it as an old family home. The owners were super responsive and we didn't have any issues at all when we were there.
The second bedroom with a queen (not the master) gets the morning heat and sun and needs curtains (it just has light blinds) but for early risers, it's beautiful. The master was cooler and darker with both curtains and blinds and beautiful outlooks and original round "porthole" windows.
We appreciated the bug screens on the windows, a great modern addition! And we appreciated the breathtaking views from all rooms and we also appreciated the amount of towels and linens (including beach towels) and well equipped kitchen!
We would definitely visit again! It's such a great spot for exploring West Seattle and we already have a number of restaurants and stores on our list (walking distance from the house) to explore next time!

The pictures don't lie! This place is amazing. Very roomy. Lots of sitting areas to chat and visit with family. Unfortunately, it rained most of our stay so we didn't get to enjoy the porch. Hopefully, next time the weather will cooperate. Thank you for sharing this wonderful space.

The house was as it was described. It worked well for our party of 5. Plenty of space, we enjoyed the side porch for views of the water and the city - saw fireworks at night.
Location is very nice - restaurants and grocery are within walking distance. Walking distance to the beach.
We all enjoyed our stay.

Our VRBO was the gathering place for family; everyone especially enjoyed the porch area for social hour (settee needs different cushion setup--was quite uncomfortable; everything else was great)

Older home in nice neighborhood. Not to fat to the city about 30.00 to downtown by Uber. Home has a lot of stairs. We were going on a cruise and stayed a couple nights before our cruise. Beds are 2 queens and a set of bunk beds. Mattresses are not comfortable. All bedrooms upstairs. Furniture in living room upstairs is pretty worn and broken down. Overall house is pretty nice. I'd grate it about 6.5-7 on scale of 1-10.

This home served as a lovely space and area to visit with our family —-some of them live in the Beacon Hill area. The house location offers a beautiful view of the sound, Olympic Mountains and the Seattle skyline.

The views from the house were wonderful! We walked to coffee and breakfast each day and very much enjoyed the amenities of the house. The porches are lovely places for sharing coffee or a glass of wine. We did both! We had difficulty with the upstairs hot water heater and Sharon responded quickly and had it fixed that day. We appreciated the great communication and quick response. Hope to return when we are back in West Seattle.

Seven of us stayed for a few days of Seattle sightseeing. We were not at the house much, but it was a terrific location to access downtown via water taxi and other public transportation. We were able to be in a quiet neighborhood while still being close to everything. The house was very clean, large enough to have multiple sleeping options for everyone, and communication with the owners was quick and easy.

Nice neighbor. House old but in good repair. Warm and friendly. Easy check in. A tad over the top with trash requirements but doable. Lots of room. I was surprised regarding no shampoo, soap, bath soap. Never experienced that before. Also in kitchen, no sugar, sweetener, limited coffee, oil, just some basics. I own to rentals myself, and I provide for these things.

We were in Seattle for our parent’s 50th anniversary and we chose this location. The views were worth the stay!

We loved our stay in this beautiful house. There were 6 of us, my parents (70), my husband and I and our two girls. (20 & 15) We spent 2 nights and had everything we needed and more. Our favorite parts of the house were the porch and the family room above it with fabulous views of the Seattle Skyline. Close to the West Seattle water taxi as well as restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay again. The only recommendation I would make is possibly a small table next to the bed in the master bed room with a power strip since there are not many outlets and a small lamp on the room with the bunk beds. Overall a perfect place to stay if you are exploring Seattle but don't want to stay in the city.

We had a family wedding in Alaska and were able to meet from all around the country to break up the trip. The six of us found the home very comfortable, obviously formerly loved. The proximity to the water taxi also was appreciated.

We loved this property! The location was absolutely perfect for those looking to visit downtown Seattle and surrounding areas. Beautiful views & the sweetest neighbors. Our kids ended up spending a whole afternoon playing street basketball with neighborhood kids. Very close to the water taxi for fun visits downtown. Highly recommend for a large group & kids!

We love, love, love the big blue house!! The neighborhood is so beautiful and friendly. And, the house is so lovely and family friendly! The view of the Olympic mountains and downtown from the house are incredible. The property manager and owners took the best care of us. When the coffee maker broke, the owner had new one delivered to us the next morning.
We can’t say enough good things about this vacation rental. The beach is so close. The trees are breathtaking. And, the water taxi is short walk away; a way fun to get downtown and catch a baseball game. We highly recommend the big blue house for your next trip to Seattle. Cheers to the PNW! We love you!

We had a wonderful time in West Seattle. Great location with outstanding views. It was a quiet neighborhood with spectacular of the Seattle skyline. Two bald eagles flew over the house on our last day. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We would plan to stay there again on our next trip to Seattle.

I travel to Seattle often for scuba diving along the Alki Beach area, but like the quiet at night. This home provided a quiet place to retreat at the end of the day while still being within a short distance from shops and restaurants. Anyone looking for a relaxing place to unwind while visiting Seattle would do well in this home.

What a fantastic house with great views on all sides.
This property is located in a beautiful neighborhood with close access to the water taxi.
I would only suggest a non slip mat in the master bath.
The t.v. streaming service leaves a lot to be desired.

This house was a gem. It has old charm and was so beautiful. Spending the evenings in the upstairs media room with Panaromic views of the sound and downtown Seattle. Close to many food places my favorite so far was Saltys on Alki. I have a very demanding job and this was just the relaxation I needed.

This is a gem of a place, and we had a wonderful time during our visit to Seattle. The home is historic with beautiful views, and we made a point to enjoy a night in during our trip instead of going out and seeing the sights because this house was such an inviting stay.

My family of six adults thoroughly enjoyed staying at the house. The views from the upstairs sitting room are beautiful. The kitchen was stocked and we loved the large table to have breakfast. We had record cold (some snow) while we were there but the house was well heated. Only concern was the trash/recycle procedures. We are not from an area that recycles so we had no idea what was recyclable and what wasn't. Other than the anxiety of not getting fined for not recycling properly, we had a wonderful time in the house and would highly encourage others to stay.

The views are amazing! My 11th grade Girl Scouts loved staying here! The upstairs family room with the panoramic view of the skyline is absolutely stunning. They loved watching Twilight and Gray’s Anatomy on the large couch after long days of sightseeing. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is fantastic. Our only concerns were the dull kitchen knives and poor quality dish/handsoaps.

Great location for staying and visiting the Seattle area. So close to Alki and the rest of what West Seattle has to offer and a short drive to the Ballard locks, Seattle aquarium, the Museum of Flight and so much more. The HUGH selection of Legos and other kid friendly toys was a bonus for our 2 boys!

We had a wonderful stay. The views were fabulous and the location was perfect. Easy walk to the ferry so we didn't have to take a car downtown. The lights at night were spectacular, only wish the weather had cooperated a little more so would could have taken advantage of the porch more often.
Only one caveat - I understand how old houses can be, but between the weather and the age of the property anyone with bad allergies will want to be sure and bring allergy medication, I was very affected by the mustiness and had to take allergy meds every day during our stay.

The Big Blue House was the perfect place for our family of 5. Close to the grocery store & water taxi to downtown!
A quick drive to Lumen Field for the concert which was truly amazing. The neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. Thank you!

I booked this property because I had friends coming together to celebrate birthdays, friendships, and all the other goodness in life. The Big Blue House was absolutely perfect! There were plenty of sitting areas to gather and visit. The house was so unique with fantastic views. It was cozy and absolutely charming. The neighborhood was so peaceful. You could look out at the city but not be in it. It was a perfect place to enjoy time with friends and soak up the beautiful weather (yes, we lucked out with some great weather!) My friends all loved it as well! I would most definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Admiral property to offer a few days of jet lag decompression for my parents, and to start off a summer family to British Columbia. The house was just as described by the owner and seconded by the great reviews that helped us make our decision to stay there. Absolutely fabulous location, and perfect accommodation for a large family.

This place was absolutely beautiful!! That front porch was one of the best parts of this house. We sat out there and had coffee in the mornings and wine in the evenings, watching the water. There were six of us and we were all very comfortable. We were in Seattle for a concert and the house was a quick Uber ride to Lumen Field. The hosts were easy to communicate with and very responsive. We will definitely stay here again!!!

Our family had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home in West Seattle. The location was perfect with amazing views of downtown and the Sound. The house was well stocked and spacious. It feels like a family home and we loved it. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Seattle.

Aside from the house not having air conditioning during a very hot week (despite the breeze from the water, it gets very hot upstairs and you will need fans to be even remotely comfortable), the house itself was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the front porch and sat outside nearly every evening enjoying the views. My daughter was delighted by all the legos and the bunk beds.
Communication with the owners was very timely and we had no problem getting checked in.
We would definitely stay here again (but maybe in cooler weather).
