Great option for Maun stay at the beginning or end of your safari

On the outskirts of Maun, Cresta Maun (not to be confused with Cresta Riley) is a good option if you have a car/van or don't mind using taxis to get around and into the city. A mid-range, pleasant hotel with modern facilities, it has a nice pool, bar and dining area, dine in breakfast buffet and decent rooms. We had one stay in a suite, which was large, especially the bathroom area. The second stay was in a second smaller standard room, which looked as if it had been refurbished. Both were fine. The thing that distinguishes the hotel is it's friendly staff. Although our stay wasn't perfect, the staff always attempted to help us and made every effort to look after us. We felt very lucky to stay there.

Bar staff could do with a little more training, with gin being served instead of vodka etc. The air con units don't work as well as they should. We used ours with our fan, directing the cold air around the room :) We had some delay with check in on the first day, with a late check out somehow scheduled for our room which delayed cleaning. We waited two hours in 38 degrees so it wasn't a great start. But the staff really tried very hard to make sure we were looked after and everything went smoothly after that.

Be warned, even though you have booking they might not have a room available for you.

Confirmed our booking twice with them, and confirmed that we will check in late. On arrival no rooms available. 20:00 at night our group had to find alternative accommodation in Maun.

Disappointing

Bad drainage, smell of drains/sewage, inefficient and noisy air con, torn curtains, loud drains and gurgling from shower. Plug sockets hanging out and sparking - seemed dangerous. Very expensive for that experience. Staff were very sweet and tried hard.

Fijn om na meerdere dagen tentsafari weer in een hotelkamer te overnachten. Mooie, veilige locatie. Fijn hotel.

Personeel wat onervaren, eten (buffet) kwaliteit was redelijk, niet alles even warm.

Simpatia do staff, pequenos almoços completos bem como as restantes refeições. Bar simpático no espaço aberto do pátio. Transferes grátis de e para o aeroporto.

Não correspondeu às imagens. A piscina era pequeníssima, as lindas fotos com o rio em pano de fundo não se concretizaram já que o rio estava seco. O quarto era pequeno e havia ruído logo desde cedo.

beautiful hotel but room checks needed before checking in people.

staff were all very friendly

plumbing issue in our first room on first night. the shower drain made a bubbling noise and drain cover pushed open. noisy right through the night. Reception kindly moved us and on the second night our keycard device to keep electricity on in the room malfunctioned which made the power switch off every few minutes until it never worked again. we unfortunately had two bad nights here. breakfast was lovely but food trays were not on so food cold.

The stay was terrible. More expensive than any other hotel in the area.

The manager was useless. Loud music blaring until 11pm. Manager refused to rake action and was bullied around by the DJ. Room not ready at 2pm. Pool closed because of a "family fun day"

As for the breakfast was of a higher class and sufficient to all the guest. We got everything in breakfast including fruits.

Everything was superb. We were impressed with a conducive environment, especially at ghe 🏋️‍♀️ 💪 that was wonderful.exposure. Bravo!! Bravo!!

The road to the hotel from the main road The security guard on duty - he turned out to be an interrogator. There was a big party with loads of music for the better part of the night.

I overall loved and enjoyed my stay and will definitely book again.

The staff is phenomenal, from management, reception and restaurant..Very organised, respectful and welcoming, they made my stay a pleasant one.

The rooms are never really ready..There were no towels, hot water or drinking water sometimes.

Great location, close to the river Staff very friendly and helpful

shower in the main room is not a good idea. Steam all over the room after showing.. Aircons do not work really well needs upgrading. No towels and toilet paper when i arrived at my room. Bed Side lamp was not working.

over priced, but probably one of the best places in town to stay.

The shuttle driver (BK) was very helpful. staff are nice, the garden setting is nice.

I stayed there at Christmas so the garden parties were very loud, but hey, it was the festive season. Unfortunately I subtracted dysentery from their meat dish…

Maun Cresta Disappointment

The beauty of the facility

Hotel staff were not helpful at all. Breakfast was not enough, you had to wake very early for you to enjoy and have everything on the menu. You order a meal then you are told something is not on stock after waiting for 2 hours. Everyone ie members of staff is just not pulling their socks at all, one disappointment after another. They need to do better, the facilities are so beautiful to have hotel staff who are not matching it.
