A gorgeous property with beautiful grounds. Expensive and the bed was an old-fashioned uncomfortable spring mattress. Food was average and service for dinner was extremely slow. Walking the grounds was wonderful, and our breakfast haggis and sandwich for lunch were quite good.

Hotel was like staying in a country manor. Service was wonderful and so was the food. Lots of fun activities, just wish it had not rained so we could have done more! We booked spa treatments instead which were very good. Definitely recommend.

I bit of an off the beaten path property but worth the drive. Really gorgeous country estate and the staff was beyond fantastic! They made me feel very special and looked after. Will definitely stay again. I felt like a queen while I was there.

Excellent food, room and facilities.
Nice restaurant and 'The Deck' is a superb more relaxed option with equally good food.
Thanks

Hotel is older style, which is nice but communal areas, main dining room is needed refurb to keep style, but to make facilities plusher for 5 star rating. We stayed hilltop retreats, very nice & more modern. We'll set out for self catering.
Overall good stay, a bit expensive for what it was.

Beautiful isolated location, friendly caring staff, spacious room in the main house was lovely. Will try to return some day ….

Staff saved the day by being so nice and friendly.
Very disappointing, I was not able to book a meal for the first night and they could not feed us with very few guests. Check -in was a marathon.
Food was limited, same menu for 4 days, average and over priced.
Cleanliness was not great and the place needs a major overhaul and refurbishment.
No golf course and grounds have been neglected, nothing like the photo.
It is clearly trading and relying on its past glory. An experience not to be repeated.

Staff are brilliant. Next level service, so friendly and professional. The new fine dining concept was brilliant at the chefs table. Highly recommended this property!

Would need some efforts into upgrading the mainareas. Rooms are nice, but balcony was falling apart, not really usable despite the beautiful weather. Restaurant full, no choice but room service. Terrace dining was not even offered. Closest restaurant is 20 min cab rode away. No mention of this fact at booking time 24 h before actual check in. Overbooked, understaffed property. But still pricey as if all was OK.

Beautiful hotel. It is a gem in Scotland. We enjoyed every moment at Eriska: the dinner, the spa, the swimming pool, the house, the delicious breakfast. We will definitely come back and stay longer in this beautiful hotel!

Fantastic hotel in a stunning location. Had a lovely walk around the island. Very helpful and attentive staff. Food was delicious and the swimming pool area was very relaxing. All in all a great few days away to chill and recharge. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This charming hotel is an incredible oasis! I absolutely loved the older building and the incredible way they decorated it. The staff, INCREDIBLE! I will definitely want to come back again and refer friends to this place.

Beautiful property very unique experience. Would highly recommend this hotel

I honestly felt like I was at Downton Abbey. Staying here was the highlight of my stay in Scotland. The room was beautiful. ‘Loved that each room is named after a Scottish isle; mine was Eigg. The grounds are magical and that swing…! We hiked, went to the beach, which offers outstanding views. The dinner and the staff were remarkable. Being from California, there are only two places that are at this level of service, comfort and exquisite taste; Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry and The Post Ranch Inn near Big Sur. I will always have this place in my heart.

Very comfortable and relaxing. Service was excellent and food delicious if a bit expensive.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful dinner. I felt helpings could have been larger at breakfast and service at breakfast was not good. Nevertheless I would stay again.

We stayed here many years ago it was really special, staff were all in kilts, they fed badgers at the door!! Now its lost that unique touch, still a lovely hotel but there it ends 😔we only stayed one night and i heard them say they didnt change the menu think you would struggle if you stayed longer !!!

Brilliant from beginning to end

This property was absolutely stunning. The food was delicious. The rooms were so elegant, clean, and spacious. We felt transported back in time. The property is set on a private island. Walks and views around the grounds were fantastic. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff and great food. Nice walk around the island and outdoor activities offered. Was really looking forward to using pool and spa, but only allowed in for 30 minutes at a time which negates purpose of relaxation.
It also claims to be a 'dog-friendly' hotel, but dogs are only allowed in bedrooms and cannot be left unattended in room so really the opposite of dog-friendly.
4.5
Lovely property, great isolated location. Lots of games and sports on offer. Dogs are allowed in rooms but no public areas of the hotel which is disappointing. Usually dogs are allowed in the bar areas of dog friendly hotels. Not even allowing that is restrictive and prevents guests from drinking in the bar or having afternoon tea without abandoning their dogs. Hopefully they will find a suitable location in future for sharing time with their four legged friends other than outside.

Excellent food, location and service. Stay slightly spoiled as spa not available for my wife when I tried to book a week before trip. Promised call back did not materialise. Also, golf course is not available although it is advertised. The 6 holes supposedly available were growing grass 2 inches tall on the fairways! Otherwise we cannot fault this hotel in any way.

Another wonderful stay at Eriska, faultless. A perfect haven to destress at. Staff are amazing. Manager Jochen very helpful. We will be back.

The hotel was amazing and the food was really good. The spa and pool area are very tired though, which is surprising given the cost of the hotel.

Lovely welcoming hotel, staff were wonderful and very helpful, warm and cosy atmosphere. On the down side, the food was poor, extremely expensive for what you were served. The first evening I had halibut which I really love. It was overcooked and extremely salty. Breakfast, my husband loves scrambled eggs and salmon but he doesn't like his scrambled eggs wet. Asked for them to be cooked firm, came out sloppy, sent them back cam out brown and crispy.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Great food.Pity about the necessary Covid restrictions.

Considering the prize we paid in January, and knowing that there are restrictions and closures (Spa) at the time of travel (end of August), we still had high expectations. The staff was indeed super-polite, the dinner/breakfast excellent (as one would expect), but the whole atmosphere was tainted by bizarre restrictions (like we had to ask for fresh towels and the room to be made, as some patrons had requested that no-one enters their empty room). I'm an NHS consultant myself, and have to deal with a lot of bizarre regulations of how to do things, drawn up by administrators working from home. Unfortunately, during our one week holiday this year, I had to be told by the general manager that these restrictions are "safety measures", and that he refused to refund the 15% difference in VAT. Considering the 6 nights we spend there, this did amount to quite a large sum. I would have considered it as an appropriate compensation for closure of the SPA and swimming pool as well as restricted service, but was told that it was at the discretion of management to pass it on to the patrons.
In general, the Hotel appears to have quite a healthy profit margin for what they "offer". In January, they offered 1 hour of falconry experience for the 6 of us at the cost of £950. I don't know what the cut of the hotel was for this, but we booked directly with [email protected] who charged us £300 for 3 hours, which was an experience of a lifetime.

I have stayed at this hotel several years ago and the experience was fantastic. This time however the experience was extremely disappointing. The staff, particularly in the dinning room were extremely inexperienced, food service was slow, the waitress poured tea over our table, gave the wrong order to the wrong person and much more. The catering manager did not appear to be in control and gave us very little confidence. The food however, was very good. We had to queue at breakfast for glasses and cereal, not automatically topped up. Not what you expect from a 4 or 5 star hotel. I also think the spa facilities are very tired and requires investment to update. I would not recommend this hotel, given the price being asked.

It was quite and piecefull, elegant.... Staff extremely pollite, nice and helpfull

The setting and old country house feel was nice. The grounds not well kept. The staff is very poorly trained. In general, it does not measure up to Relais and Chateau standards, from my past experiences.
