About this cottage rental
Gorgeous Brunswick Beach cottage is located in the heart of beautiful, vibrant and eclectic Hove, just off the seafront and a short 2 minute walk from Hove's high quality independent shops, cafés, restaurants, bars but still also walking distance to the exuberant central Brighton! 15 minutes walk to Brighton's central shopping district and bar culture.
The cottage is always great place of fun, whether it is for a family event or a gathering of friends, it's airy space has party feeling. As a family we love getting there as it is so different to our Country home, you feel you are in a holiday mood the moment you go through the door!
Due to our growing family; we created a small teenage hangout area with floor sofa that pulls out to a large sleeping area. This room opens up to the small courtyard area with bio fold doors enabling this small room to feel spacious and airy listening to the seagulls above.
The bathroom has pink hexagonal wall tiles and a marble herringbone floor laid, giving the room a warm and relaxing tone.
Brunswick Beach House is full of history; built in 1822 and was originally the drawing rooms of Charles Busby, the internationally acclaimed architect who designed the neoclassical Brunswick Town, adjacent to which Brunswick Beach House is situated.
Today, Brunswick Beach House offers guests a unique and memorable holiday experience.
The main living area is encompassed by a stunning arched ceiling, which was rediscovered in 2001 when the property was featured on the British television series 'Grand Designs Indoors' presented by Kevin McCloud. Open plan with triple aspect windows, it is a fabulous space in which to socialise, eat and drink, or simply relax whilst enjoying the Smart / 3D television, Sound Bar and Lutron lighting system.
The cottage offers cosy nooks for adults and children, respectively. The master bedroom contains a luxurious king-sized four poster bed and has a contemporary design. In the second bedroom, there are playful and fun bunk beds for the kids to enjoy, as well as a funky alcove incorporating a double bed and a further television.
Brunswick Beach house is designed for our family with age ranges from 14yrs to 3yrs so we have made sure there is something for little people to do whilst older ones kick back. There are a range of toys and puzzles including a dolls house, duplo, play kitchen, small ride on car, pram, books and a magnetic wall to keep children of various ages engaged.
The cottage is fabulous, and is always a place of fun. It is well suited to suited for families but we have accommodated many groups of adults for short stays. Sleeping arrangements are;
Bedroom 1: Sleeps 2 adults in a super king bed.
Bedroom 2: Sleeps 3 adults and 2 children in a double bed, a triple bunk with a adult single and 2 junior beds (160 x 70cm, average single is 190 x 90cm)
Garden room: sleeps 2 adults on a floor sofa bed
The cottage is a skip, hop and jump from the beautiful promenade. With the sea one side and Hove lawns the other, where you can play ball games or visit one of the many events often taking place in Brighton and Hove.
The wide promenade is a great place for young and old. Directly opposite the cottage the seafront is relatively unspoilt with buildings, just the odd cafe. However within 5 minutes you will reach the iconic (burnt) West Pier where you will find the newly built British airways i360, along with a arcade of new shops.
There is a lovely play park just here and a stretch of new shops. Continue a little further and you are in the heart of the Brighton beach bar culture.
The cottage is just over 15 minutes walk to the Brighton Centre, 20 minutes to the start of the South laines and just under 30 minutes to Brighton Pier.
Parking
There is no parking with cottage, however there are pay and display options around the cottage. The cheapest is on the seafront (2 minutes from the cottage) at £12.40 for 24 hours.
Previous guests have also reserved parking about 3 streets away at £15 for 24 hours. They said it worked well. This would guarantee you a parking space in advance in summer months.
When we go for more than 3 days we often park out of town for free and then make the 20min walk back as you don't need a car once you are there.
