About this house rental
Enter this luxury home from the lower level deck into the spacious rec room with full-size pool table, a couch area with large screen, smart TV, Play-station-5, and a wet bar. This room was built for fun, and you'll find a closet stacked with board games for hours of entertainment.
On one side of the rec room is a large bunk room kids will love, featuring two sets of bunkbeds (4 beds total, 2 fulls and 2 twins). On the other side of the rec room is another large bedroom with 2 queen beds. A full bathroom off the rec room is shared by both bedrooms. A reading 'cave' for kids is tucked under the stairwell.
Head upstairs to the main room in the lodge, featuring a floor to ceiling stone fireplace (gas), 24' vaulted, gorgeous tongue and groove ceilings and beams, tons of sky high windows, and a kitchen with granite countertops, copper sink, and all new appliances, cookware, and dinnerware.
While the chef cooks, keep him company on the leather stools at the granite island, or lounge on the comfy sofas in front of the fire, then sit down all together as a big group at the huge farmhouse style dining table.
On either side of the main room of the lodge are two master bedrooms, each with vaulted ceilings, king beds and full baths. One features matching tongue and groove ceilings as in the main room, plus a huge all-tile master shower. The other full bath features a bath/shower combo.
Off the living room and off of each master bedroom, you'll find a large second floor deck with great views of the mountains, a sleeping bed, and a seating area inside a screened in porch with a huge stone fireplace (gas). Sit outside at night with the fireplace and enjoy the sounds of the mountain!
Off the kitchen, in the backyard, you'll find a covered patio with a large gas grill, and a wooded hill that kids will love to explore.
The house backs to a national forest, so there's nothing behind it but trees, deer, and adventures in the making.
This home is located inside the Massanutten Resort and very close to many of the activities and amenities -- you can be at most activities within 3 minutes by car.
We provide linens/pillows for all beds. When you arrive you will find they are all made up for you, ready to go, unlike many rental homes in the resort. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals -- just bring your food.
We also provide a pack-n-play and a high-chair in the house for those with babies (bring your own linens for the pack-n-play).
POOL NOTICE: In the summer, we pay for a Guest Pass so that our visitors can access the private Owners Swimming Pool complex in the resort - just up the road about 1 mile. Guests 5 and under are free, but guests 6+ are charged a $6 daily user fee. Not every home owner pays for this guest pass for their guests, so if you rent elsewhere be sure to check on this. Other than this pool, guests at privately-owned rental homes can swim at the huge waterpark during their stay. The Owners Pool is outdoors and only open in the summer, weather and staffing dependent.
Occupancy: 12 persons (all adults and children in the home count towards this limit). As our occupancy is limited to 12 persons at any time, we do not rent this home for parties or events.
Non-Smoking, No Pets Property: This is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property (outside or inside). And although we understand that many pet lovers travel with their furry friends, this home can not allow pets due to owner's severe allergy.
Minimum Age of Renter: Primary renter must be 27 years of age or older, and the majority of guests must be at least 25 years of age. A list of guests must be provided as part of the rental contract.
NEIGHBORHOOD RULES:

This house was EVERYTHING the other reviews mentioned and more! Don’t hesitate to book this property. It could not have been more clean, it felt brand new. We hope to return again in the future.

This cabin was so amazing & so charming. My kids had a blast & we made some amazing memories. Coming back from the cold slopes to a homey & cozy cabin really made our trip that much better. Can’t thank you enough!

The Aviary has become our favorite place to vacation. We have stayed twice and both times the property was in immaculate condition. The home is spacious and beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and all the pots, pans, and dishes you could need. There is also a closet full of games for all ages. The view from the balcony is so beautiful and the host, Monica, is so lovely and easy to communicate with about checkin/checkout. The resort area is also great - tons of fun things for families to do, but without the pretentious resort feel. This is truly a gem!

Great home and beautiful location. We took advantage of the activities in the resort, including the indoor water park and miniature golf. The house was very comfortable for our group - the four kids stayed downstairs and two couples in the upstairs bedrooms. Would definitely choose this property again!

This is the third time our family has stayed at The Aviary. We love everything about this house. The location is great. Check-in and check-out are simple. The accommodation is immaculate and there is so much to do around Massanutten. We’ll definitely be back to this house in the future.

Monica's home is beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, dishware, appliances, and pots & pans. The large great room on the main floor was a terrific meeting place for our extended family of 7. Bedrooms are comfortable and bathrooms plentiful. Gas BBQ grill made meal prep easy keeping the kitchen area cool. Clothes washer & dryer convenient on main floor. Traveling to the resort pool and other activities was easy as well as venturing to places of interest in the area as highway access was very close by. This home is highly recommended. With just one zone air cond., the lower level got much cooler than the upper floor. We would shut the AC off at night. Each floor maintained a comfortable temperature through the night.

The house was great- pictures don’t do it justice but everything is updated and clean. Big open areas and lots of space. We had a group of 8 and everyone had their own space. Beautiful views and scenery!
The location was great. Everything was close(pools, waterpark, adventure park, rec building, general stores, bars, and restaurants). Stores and restaurants outside of the resort were pretty close too. Monica, the property manager was always very responsive and helpful. We are thinking of returning for a winter getaway next time!

The Aviary on Trevino Dr was ideal to accommodate 10 of us from 3 generations ages 80 to 13 as we made three 7-mile runs on the nearby Shenandoah river full of small mouth bass. The rental's pool table was a big hit with the men. The well stocked kitchen impressed us. Art work was very lovely and tasteful. A great stay!

The rental process was clear, easy, and efficient. Monica was responsive from the minute the property booking was sent. This property is well maintained, spacious, great location with beautiful views! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway!

What an amazing house !! We were close to everything, shopping, go carts, indoor water park, zip lining and restaurants.
The house was clean, and came with everything we needed to make our stay easy.

This was the most well-appointed and stocked vacation home I've ever rented. This place is an absolute gem. If you're intimidated by the driveway, there is ample room for 1-2 vehicles completely off the road at the bottom of the hill.

Really exceptional. Very nice and clean property. Had a great time.

We were extremely impressed with this property for our trip with extended family. Our kids loved the book nook area, bunk room, and all of the games available. We loved how organized the kitchen was and how many amenities were there. I have never been at a property with so many supplies. We usually bring a lot of our own pans, utensils, etc. to a rental, but they were not needed. Everything of the property’s was labeled as well, which made it easy to keep separate from what we brought. Washer and dryer was efficient. The bath towels supplied were a bit small, so you can bring your own if you like oversized towels. Monica was easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. The location was great for outdoor exploring and the caverns. We would use this rental again in a heartbeat!

My family and I absolutely love this home! This is our second time staying there and it did not disappoint. We have 3 teens who enjoyed the pool table & TVs, but they also love the privacy of the rooms and the many activities offered in and around Massanutten. It’s such a treat for us to get away to this lovely home and the Massanutten community!

We decided to rent the house to meet up with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. We all enjoyed our stay even though it rained the entire weekend. Plenty of games and activities to keep everyone entertained. Would stay there again.

This is a great house inside the Massanutten resort. The home is clean, nicely decorated and extremely well stocked. The pool table and PS5 in the gaming area were plusses. Access to Shenandoah national park is convenient and the amenities in the resort were great to have access to.

The Aviary was perfect. The beds were all comfortable. We enjoyed the spaciousness. Everything was exactly as stated. Beautiful home. Loved the gas fireplace in the screened porch!

We travelled 6 hours to this amazing mountain retreat with our in-laws (grandparents and aunt/uncle) and our 3 kids. This house is super kid friendly with wonderful touches like a bunch of books for bedtime reading, board games, play station, a kids only nook, and a little girls doll playhouse.
They even had kid-size plates and cups. The kitchen is fully stocked and we enjoyed nearly all of our meals at this home and went out to explore during the day— Kid friendly hikes, caverns, golf, water park, pool and many options we didn’t get to like zip lining, tubing, playgrounds and putt putt.
The house is spacious with plenty of beds for a large party. They supply towels and bedding. Very clean and well kept.
Thanks for amazing family getaway!

Positives:
Good location, central to all activities
Well equipped with all the tools and appliances
Large great room perfect for family meals
Clean, spacious rooms
Deck spaces and picture windows offer beautiful outdoor time
Negatives:
Very steep driveway with limited parking, can be difficult for older people
Large picture windows allow evening sun to shine directly on eating area during dinner, no shades to help, room temperature rises 10-15 degrees as a result
No shades on doors going from bedrooms to decks, can easily see into bathrooms from outside, early morning light disrupts sleep

Very clean, spacious, comfortable and relaxing.

We loved our getaway time to the mountains at the Aviary! It is tucked into the Massanutten resort area but on the end of a street backing up to the woods (so many beautiful deer sightings!). The house is perched on a hill (steep drive) but we loved that it gave us some seclusion and a better view of the mountains! Great lighting in the house. Very large rooms tastefully decorated and clean. Fully stocked kitchen and wonderful flow to be go from two masters to deck/screened porch. The outdoor fireplace was a treat. And our kids were able to have their own space downstairs to play and watch movies. The owner was easy to communicate with and we were in close proximity to the resort activities and only 20 minutes to things in Harrisonburg.

Gorgeous house with beautiful mountain views. Well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds and even stocked with games and books for all ages. The pool table was a big hit and the adults enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces. The resort had lots of fun activities and reasonably close to Shenandoah for day hikes. Very enjoyable vacation!

This property was perfect for my party of 10..Very spacious and cozy at the same time. The kids kept themselves entertained in the gaming area downstairs or the reading nook. The only things that I didn't like was the steep driveway and there were no hand drying towels in the bathrooms. Other than that I have no complaints at all..Would definitely stay here again.
