We liked the quaintness of the hotel. It was clean and presented well. We didn’t like the food that we had ordered. This is why we give the 4 star review.

I have travelled all over the world. Stayed at many hotels from 1 star till 5 star. I know the hotel is a 3 star category, but it should be only 1 star. The bathroom was awful. I have never slept so bad in a bed. Even better to sleep on the floor. My wife even suggested we sleep in the car. And that never happened in our 25 years of marriage. No further comments before I get more upset. The price for that room should have been for free. And then I would still say no thank you. Has Hotel.com ever been at that hotel.

A wonderful place to stay in Rio, with great views, a nice pool, and food service starting at 7am so you don’t miss out on morning flamingo tours, etc.

We were welcomed with a drink, and sent up 3 flights of stairs to our room (my husband is 70), The room was mediocre and overlooked the kids playground. No waterview and not romantic. When I asked for a room with a view I was told NO. I was informed that waterview suites were only for families. I made it clear I wasnt on vacation to sleep outside a playground. As no alternative was offered we moved to another hotel,

Everything was easy with check-in, and check out. Hotel staff was very friendly, and the live music in the evenings was so lovely. The property was very well maintained, cute dock at the end, the roof was a perfect place to watch a sunset, and the building was a beautiful design and well furnished.
One warning about Rio Largartos, there is no place to exchange currency, and no ATM, several places take credit card but not everywhere and cash is definitely preferred, so make sure to bring enough cash with you so you can book some tours, leave tips for hospitality staff, and anything else you might need!
Oh! And we saw a real and large crocodile one evening directly under the "Danger Crocodiles, NO Swimming" sign on the dock, so definitely take that seriously!
I would definitely stay here again, and recommend this property, even though I want to keep it a secret for myself!

It's one of the two nicer hotels in Rio Lagartos! It was very clean and comfortable. They have a roof that has a wonderful view and a pool downstairs. All of the staff were very friendly.

Clean and comfortable hotel in this fishing town. Staff really goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Everyone from the reception staff to the restaurant and rooftop staff, made every effort to making this a memorable stay. I recommend this hotel for your stay in Rio Lagarto.

Initially I was hesitant to stay at this place because when we arrived the staff didn't greet us or look up from what they were doing. So check in was bad. We booked 2 rooms one was standard and the other was a suite. The standard room was so bad that we decided to just upgrade to two suites. It was definitely worth the extra money. in the standard room the beds were hard as a rock the showers didn't work and there was no place to put your clothing. The suites were lovely comfortable beds, showers worked, and balconies with views. because the experience was so night and day we decided that we would stay for a week. The location is perfect The kitchen is great and they serve food all day into the evening until 10:00 p.m. which was a real convenience and all of the other staff was nice. The pool area is lovely and the rooftop was a special treat. Another little factoid is that Wi-Fi is better in the suites than in their standard rooms it just doesn't exist. All in all I would definitely stay at this hotel again they need to check and make sure that the staff working the desk is much more welcoming since that is their job. I'm pretty sure that we just got a bad apple on arrival.

Fabulous area & town to visit. Next time we we come for longer, at least 2 weeks, just to totally relax & rest. I would go to the deserted beach, that is just a 10 minute boat ride over, every day. We did the flamingo tour & saw lots of wildlife up close. The hotel has a buffet breakfast and a dining room for meals. They also provide snack meals down on the ria dock, just off from their pool .... my best part was that beautiful family hammocks were provided in the rooms. I get back aches and discomfort if I sleep in a bed, so this was perfect for me.

We stayed at this place due to our visit to the Pink Lake 30 minutes away. The hotel is ok for the price. Room has a window facing inside and a balcony facing the lake (partial view). They have some amenities such as pool but we didn't use it because it was quite late when we arrived.
Check-in took a little while because they were short of staff - only one girl there but many guests arriving with questions... The people at the front desks only spoke Spanish. Nonetheless, we were able to communicate through Google translation and they seemed to be helpful.
Food was a little expensive - our dinner cost 980 MX. Seafood was not fresh but meats are ok.
My biggest complains were: there's no WIFI in the room & hot water was not 24 hrs. I had to use the lobby WIFI to do my emergency work and when I finished my work downstair and wanted to take a shower back in my room, there's no hot water... So it was a very unpleasant experience taking a bath there.
Also, be aware, there's no elevator so prepare to bring your luggage and stroller up using the stairs - it was a pain for us :(
Overall, it's an OK place if you need to stay in that area for your trip.
