Clean and modern bathroom and toilet, lockers in the rooms, great location, cheapest price, nice bar next to the hostel
Small room without AC, always loud, there can be weird people in the area

Location
Rented a private room which was very worn. I sent a message to the hotel + called 6 times across a few days asking for the Lost & Found since I lost my nice sandals and no one ever answered my calls or inbox message.

Nada
FATAL !! el peor, mas viejo, apestoso, sucio, descuidado y terrible hostel donde he estado en todo el mundo. Sencillamente FATAL, espantoso.

Great location. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. Comfortable bed, reliable Wi-Fi, well-equipped kitchen area, nice staff. Some people were partying next to our room in the kitchen area - I went to the front desk to let them know and they dealt with it right away.
The place looked old and tired. Floor boards were creaky. There was a weird smell. We could hear people walking and talking in the corridor and the kitchen area (our room was right next to it). Someone's dirty towel was left in the common shower area.

5 minutes walk from airport bus.
Location seems to be more or less central.
One of the lowest prices around, but you know what's going on with American housing prices.
Even though you can open windows in the room, there's nothing to keep them open.
There are pretty lockers large enough to fit filled backpack in the dorm rooms, but you're not being proactively asked if you want to get a lock and key when you're checking in. So you'd have to get down to 1st and then back to your room on whatever floor if you did not think to ask about it just in case as well. Which is not guest's job. I'd call that a bit of a poor service.
Other guests were smoking weed in the public hallway, so be careful if that's not appropriate for you.

Nice staff, clean, convenient location.
No elevator, no air-conditioning but did have small individual fans for each bed.

The staff and management are rude. The place is unhealthy and unclean.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The kitchen was a bonus. Great location to busnesses.
Very early check out time. I prefer the noon check out that many hotels and motels have. Too many rules to follow. I was swept away by the rules of this place. In all this hostel was an ok place.

bathroom facilities were very clean for Hostel Standards.
we lost our passport and were Quite desperate and David - one of the staff members - was extremely helpful and Tried His Best to Support us and communicated with the airline. that was an exceptional effort, for which we are very grateful.
the rest of the staff was also friendly.
location was central and easily accessible, but not really nice - many homeless people in the neighbourhood and none of the pretty spots really close. also it was quite loud, partly because the windows wouldn’t properly close.
room was tidy and clean in all The important spots (bed, cupboards) but was still a bit filthy in the corners and under the bed.

the rooms were not like in the pictures, too small

community kitchen nice
Rm 1414 smelt dusty/moldy..hole in wall...loose entry door ...thought anyone could easily break into room. Did not like wife calling front desk worried about me and staff ignored her pleas to ckeck in on me.

Very clean and friendly hostel, great location and the perfect place for a few days to explore San Diego. Would definitely come again :)

Good stay with low cost but convenient position and private clean room with refrigerator. Shared toilets and bathrooms are enough and well-cleaned. Great kitchen is suitable for self cooking. Check-out time is 10am, a little earlier but allowed for luggage storage after check out. I will defitely choose it on next time.
The only thing not good enough is the noise from some air conditions outside. It is not a big issue for me as my sleeping is deep. But in the price, I think it is still a good hostel for travelers..

Kitchen was big.. enough fridges and food storages racks to store grocery. Staff cleaning all the time. Bed was comfortable. Bargain Market & Ralph's 2 streets away. Kitchen.fully equipped.
No rooms on ground floor. U have to carry your luggage 1 or 2 floor at least.

location
dirty and some staffs are not friendly.

The location is great, close to the central area with a lot of clubs, restaurants.
There's an unpleasant smell in my room. So strong, soaked in my garment. Every linen is old. It may have washed but due to so much worn out, I still question how clean they are.

Location was wonderful, met great people, had a nice sleep. Beds could be upgraded, but they aren’t uncomfortable, just the metal bunk beds can be a little loud while others are trying to sleep. Overall facilities are totally what’s to be expected, it would be nice if it could be a bit more modern and clean looking but still with character.
Could have been more modern, would have been appreciated to not have to bring down sheets.

Loved how close so many restaurants and shops were! The hostel itself was also very nice, plenty of room and places to hangout. Staff was also super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. They even let us leave our bags there after checkout while we got breakfast before heading to the airport! Most of the other people staying there were very nice as well!!
I'm sure there's a good reason to the kitchen being closed after a certain time but was super disappointing when I got hungry at 1 am and couldn't get my food from there. Also didn't enjoy being woken up at random hours of the night hearing people yelling to themselves on the sidewalks right outside the windows
