I loved absolutely everything about my stay at Drift Inn Cayo. Best staff, comfortable beds, perfect water pressure. Truly a home away from home experience. Highly recommended.
4.5
The location was perfect for our stay. The grounds were very well groomed and the staff was excellent. Loved the sitting area with comfy sofas and chairs.
Pillows could have been better. But we could always have brought our own as well.

Location was good for visiting nearby Mayan ruins.
Inattention by property owner to breakfast requirements for children in our group. She was far too busy sharing her personal life journey with another guest to realize there was no milk left for cereal. Dog on property was a tripping hazard. I fell over dog in my way onto tile floor leading to wrist injury and bruising.

for the price you pay I would say very good and definitely worth it. Rooms were clean and spacious.
We had an unfortunate experience at the restaurant. We ordered the catch of the day from the menu, and the waitress informed us that it was red snapper. Due to past experiences in San Ignacio where tilapia was sold as snapper, I asked the waitress twice to confirm that it was indeed red snapper. However, when the food arrived, it was clear that they had served us tilapia, falsely labeled as red snapper. I was disappointed and informed the waitress, who then informed the chef.
The chef came to our table to apologize and explained that he had purchased the fish in large bags, assuming that it was red snapper. However, after speaking with the chef and observing another raw fish filet, it became evident that all the fish they had were small and identical to the tilapia they usually sell. As an experienced fisherman who has lived on an island for 35 years and eats red snapper twice a week in Belize for the past 10 years, I can certainly differentiate between a red snapper and a tilapia.
I did not eat the fish and was disappointed to find that both the tilapia were charged on my bill. I requested a void or a discount, but the cashier stated that they were not authorized to provide any discounts. I then requested to speak with the manager, but she was not available at the time. Despite my request to inform the manager and have her contact me, no one from the restaurant followed up with me during my two-night stay. As a result, I ended up paying for two tilapia falsely labeled as the catch of the day, which I did not consume.
In conclusion, my experience at the restaurant was disappointing, and I believe that they could have handled the situation more professionally.

We loved the pool which was clean and quite big, the atmosphere, the restaurant, the pound that is close by, the personnal was really sweet too, the bar by the pool is so much fun, there wasnt much bugs
We didnt get à ground level by the pool room. I think there is a miscommunication in booking. We ended up in one of the worst hotel room we had in our life. Outdated climatisation that we couldnt keep on at night because of the noise, very small bathroom, the room was old and withered, bed wasnt confortable and it was so humid our towels wouldnt dry during the day.

The place is really beautiful and relax. The bed was comfortable. The personal are nice. The food at the restaurant is really good and not too expensive. :)

Friendly staff, clean place, quiet (the way I like and prefer), hot water in the bathroom (no struggles), fast speed internet (never lost connection and worked everywhere even outside), free parking just by the gate, secure place, and they are renovating the kitchen so will be even more amazing soon!
Also, use of Microwave and Fridge plus hot water, tea, coffee, and honey! It is a great place honestly!

Great location, excellent restaurant, nice pool and friendly staff.
Room was not as nice as I had expected, very small too. Not a good deal for the price.

Drift Inn Cayo exceeded my family expectations based on value, amenities, location and comfort. The property is not located in San Ignacio; rather, it's in Santa Elena (which is a 2 minute drive into San Ignacio). The property felt very safe and secure, it is gated around the entire property, was well lit and plenty of cameras on the property.
After a day in the district, it was really nice coming back to the facility and relax at the pool. There is plenty of parking in front of the property. It's also worth noting that there is a restaurant/bar on the property which is convenient.
Check-in was fairly easy; we just walked into the restaurant and let them know we had a reservation for the Drift Inn - staff looked up my reservation (name). Easier than checking in at a large resort or branded hotel. We did see staff throughout our stay and they were very nice. The interactions were pleasant.
The room was very comfortable and spacious. We reserved the "Deluxe Family Room" which had 2 queens and a full - which was good. Beds were more on the stiff side of the spectrum, but still comfortable. Bed linens were light which kept us comfortable throughout the evening. There were only 2 bed pillows plus 2 throw pillows per bed....so, if you're a sleeper that required a lot of pillows, you may want to ask for additional pillows. The room had a small dorm style refrigerator which kept stuff very cold. The bathroom had plenty of space for 3 people to "do their business" (shower, toilet, sink). Bath linens were also decent. Included bath towel(s), hand towel(s) and floor towel -no wash cloth. There was a hair dryer available too. There were water refill stations - so be sure to bring your refillable water container. There was a microwave also. The air conditioning unit worked wonderfully; kept the room very cool.
The property was close to the Santa Elena round-about which made it easy to remember and navigate. WIFI did not work in the rooms.

the property is nice
The service is horrible. Actually horrendous is a better description.

It was a beautiful place and very well maintained. The cottages were comfortable and clean.
We had one staff member tell us we could have a late check out. Then another staff member came and told us we had to pack up immediately and we couldn’t stay in the rooms any longer. It was confusing and uncomfortable.
