About this house rental
A large well equipped lakeside "home from home" set in it's own spacious and peaceful grounds with spectacular views over the lake. Rowing boats and kayaks are all available for guests and there is a hard tennis court in the garden. There are walks set in the grounds and there are several footpaths and cycling routes close by. Within easy reach of London, on the edge of Maxey village and 7 miles from Stamford and Peterborough. Local supermarkets and shops in Market Deeping, 3 miles away. Many local pubs, tourist attractions and activities within a few miles. All the reception rooms are spacious with the lounge, which has a large smart TV, and dining room have great views over the lake. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with a separate utility room. There is a piano for the use of guests in the hall and separate seating and dining facilities in the conservatory. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with a settee and TV as well as a twin bedroom, that share a bathroom and separate cloakroom downstairs, both suitable for those with limited mobility but not suitable for disabled guests. Upstairs there is a master suite with king sized bed, TV and DVD player, dressing room and ensuite bathroom and a double ensuite room that can be twin beds or king sized bed. There is a large outside terrace with built-in charcoal barbecue overlooking the lake with outside furniture in the summer. Children welcome. The house is available for weekly lets or shorts breaks.
Please note that although we do allow up to two dogs there is no enclosed garden and they must be kept under control at all times as the property has various types of wildlife in the grounds.

It was by luck that I found this property and can honestly say the photos dont do it justice. My Jaw dropped when I arrived. The location is easy to get to and the house and grounds are kept immaculate. The lake is just something else and boosts this wonderful property. Communication with Maggie was efficient and seamless. We were 3 generations stayimg here and had the privilege of creating some memories in a beautiful setting. Thank you Maggie and family for opening your home to us

The location of Lake Lodge is beautiful. The grounds are lovely and well-kept. The house is exceptionally well-equipped with everything you might need. The house and furnishings are a bit dated, but comfortable and functional. Wonderful kitchen.

The grounds were breathtaking!
We used the tennis courts ,boats and kayaks - the grown ups and the grandkids had so much fun!!

I would definitely recommend this property. We had an amazing tim. The property and surrounding area is beautiful. The hosts are very nice and we are grateful to be given the chance to experience their beautiful home. We had a chance to fish, go in the lake on the boat and kids had plenty of space to expolore and play.

I cannot praise Lake Lodge highly enough! The house is so comfortable, spacious but cosy, and very well-equipped. Maggie the host could not have been more helpful in providing everything we needed and sending us lots of useful information in advance. The boating, sports facilities and wildlife watching were perfect for our family group. We can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay at Lake lodge with 3 generations of family members. There was so much to do. The house was very clean and had everything you needed. The tennis court was put to very good use and the lake and grounds were amazing to explore and reconnect with nature. Thank you Maggie and Dan for making is feel so welcome and for being great hosts. A very unique place with a spacious, comfortable house, a large lake and extensive grounds. Lots of wildlife and a huge variety of trees. 6+ our grandson. Plenty to do if you fancy a trip out. We had a great time.

Lovely Lakeside Location
The property is spacious and clearly a well loved family vacation home, which has been extended and up-dated but retains period features. There are two bedrooms upstairs with en-suite facilities and two ground floor bedrooms which share a bathroom and a separate lavatory with wash-hand basin etc.
Lakeside Lodge is well equipped with all that guests could need and has a terrace with out-side dining seating with a charming view of the lake,

Family holiday for three generations.
All 9 of us enjoyed our stay . The house 🏠 had all we could wanted . The lake was just perfect we had been canoeing 🛶 before but not paddle boarding . We took our own paddle board and used the small one there . The wild life was there if you looked hard . The grounds and tennis court were also put to good use . The village pub was excellent and friendly . We shall return perhaps in the summer next time . All in all wonderful for a family to spend time together .

Dream stay
Most attentive hosts who are delightful. Gorgeous property and fantastic grounds and facilities. The best equipped house we have ever stayed in. We and the family had a wonderful week with absolutely no complaints. The combination of sunshine on the lake, swans a swimming, herons a flying and magnificent woods to walk through took our breath away every time we stepped outside. Thanks for everything Maggie.

Lovely staycation
Lake lodge was the perfect staycation property. It was spotlessly clean (and clearly lots of effort has gone in to making it even more so during the pandemic). The lake is Such a great asset - we loved having use of the boats which really added to our trip. Couldn’t recommend this place enough for a weekend break away.

Wonderful secluded location, with stunning views across the lake. Loads of space, well equipped and well laid out for our family Christmas. We had a wonderful time boating on the lake and watching the heron's antics. First rate!

Early Famly Christmas Weekend
We have had a lovely Xmas Weekend at Lake Lodge.
Christmas tree and decorations all up bubbly and chocolates on the table a lovely thought.
The house and all grounds are just great once you have arrived and settled in no need to go out again unless you fancy a short walk to the Bluebell Inn for a small half.
The family played tennis and even went out on the lake in the rowing boat life jackets provided like I said every small thing has been thought of.
We will be back the best recommendation out.

Amazing Retreat

Fantastic. Undoubtedly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in.
We stayed with our nearest and dearest (9 in total) for a long weekend as part of our Golden Wedding celebrations. We could not fault the facilities and, being blessed with amazing weather, we took full advantage of the boating, spending many hours on the lake. Our grandson also swam and enjoyed playing tennis with his cousins. Excellent! All are keen to return

Lovely house in an amazing setting.
We had a fabulous week at lake lodge. The house was spacious and immaculately clean. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and had everything we needed. Maggie and Dan (the owners) were staying in their cabin in the grounds and were super friendly and helpful. Our 3 children and niece and nephew loved boating on the lake and they enjoyed playing tennis on the tennis court too. The setting of the house on the lake was so relaxing and the children were never bored and had plenty to do. We’ve been on a UK holiday in May since our first child was born 8 years ago and have stayed in many different holiday homes all over the Uk and this has to be the best - we’ll definitely be back.

Wonderful setting for birthday celebration weekend
The house and grounds were wonderful. Super comfortable and well equipped house. We all enjoyed boating on the lake, tennis on the court and walks to the village and along the river bank. Secluded but not in the least remote. A very memorable and happy stay, many thanks to Maggie.

Idyillic place to get away from it all
We stayed here as our twice per year weekends away with 3 other couples in early November. Would have loved to stay longer than the 3 nights! Everything was perfect and Lake Lodge is a great place to relax and enjoy some wonderful walks and scenery. Wildlife including herons abound and location is so tranquil. How great to create this from a family owned gravel extraction business and leave no trace of the location's previous history. Superb village pub (no food but great beer) the Blue Bell visited twice - be there by 5.30pm on Friday nights if you want a seat - and further afield we visited the Golden Pheasant at Etton on our 9 mile walk and the Blue Bell at Glinton on Saturday night. Brilliant place to chill - all 8 of us thought were sad it was only a weekend chillout. well done Maggie and co.

Absolutely beautiful
This is the second time we have been to Lake Lodge. Once again it was absolutely beautiful, we could not fault the house, location and the weather. Lake Lodge is perfect for us as we all enjoy using the boats and play tennis. The house is very clean and well maintained, the owners make you feel very welcome. I will be going back to Lake Lodge again so I would recommend this to anyone.

Fabulous Weekend Break
We chose Lake Lodge for our annual family self catering weekend away. We found it by chance whilst looking on the net and it seemed to fit the bill to a tee and it more than surpassed our expectations :-)
The property is in a beautiful spot and so quiet. The accommodation is great for families and the kitchen diner is so well equipped - ideal for self catering.
The icing on the cake is the surrounding area which is alive with bird life and provides lovely walks. Our big boys loved the fishing and we all enjoyed boating on the lake seeing the heronry, the swans, ducks and ducklings and geese.
The girls had a spa day with My Personal Sanctuary so all our needs were met and more.
Although we've never met Maggie she feels like an old friend. Her prompt responses to our queries prior to our visit and the information available at the property made the whole experience painless.
We cannot recommend this place enough and feel sure that others will enjoy any time they spend at Lake Lodge whether it is for a weekend or longer.

Fantastic home
We leave here tomorrow after celebrating New Year's holiday with friends. Well I really don't know where to start explaining what an amazing house this is. We arrived to a very welcoming home with Christmas decorations and lovely gifts from the owners. The views are fantastic, extremely calmer house. The house has everything you could possibly need or want to make your stay comfortable, it is very much home from home. The grounds are superb, what a fab way to start the day by having a walk around them. Thank you, we will definitely been back!

Wonderfull place
What a haven lovely house with fantastic views from the rooms of the lake very well equipped even down to toys for my 20 month old grandson to play with the boats for use on the lake had a wow factor for my adult children who were forever out on it the grounds are extensive and lovely to walk round we saw deer, bunnies and squirrels as well as birds entertaining us on the lake ideally situated for places to visit around Maxey would love to return in the future thank you Maggie for sharing your wonderfull home :-)

Stunning place
Our 3 night stay at Maxey lodge was simply a treat. The house is in excellent condition and very well and thoughtfully equipped. We had 4 youngsters with us and the house had all general baby paraphernalia including cots and high chairs.
The grounds are beautiful and rowing in the lake was very relaxing in the company of swans. We had some good weather so also enjoyed a good walk and tennis.

Spectacular
Lake Lodge Maxie is simply beautiful. I don?t think the website does it justice; it?s perfect in every way. We were a Burghley Horse Trials party of 8, all friends and family and I also did a dinner for 12. Everything I needed was there; I didn?t need to ask for anything. The Lodge is so well laid out and such a wonderful space for entertaining. But it?s the location that makes it special, right on the lake and to get up in the morning and sit outside looking at the glass image of the mature trees all-round the lake is just spectacular.
We went boating, walked in the woodland round the lakes, played tennis, sat on the terrace thoroughly enjoying the view, what more would you want.
I?m going to recommend Lake Lodge to all my Facebook Friends; it?s a gem of a house on the Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire border.
