Remaining true to the original vision of the castle, we have researched in detail the architectural and interior design of the historic castle structure. The result is a stunning fusion of the grandeur of times past and the luxury of modern accommodation.

Both formal and family friendly traditional dining facilities are on offer at Lisheen Castle. The formal dining room seats 16 people in extravagant old world style, while the traditional Irish kitchen offers a cozy more informal dining area. The property exceeded expectations. Zane was constantly checking in on us . Would highly recommend--just note that no more than 5 extra guests can visit the castle above those staying with you in the castle.
It was a dream vacation.

The castle was amazing. The grounds were so beautiful and well manicured. Tennis court was great and had lights for nighttime playing. The castle was clean, bedrooms were large with comfortable beds, expansive living areas throughout. The owner was responsive and very helpful. We rented cars to get around ireland so the castle location was centrally located. Would definitely recommend.

What a fabulous vacation the Lisheen Castle offers. We immediately felt comfortable in our home away from home. The tranquility of the setting immediately takes you in and makes you feel like you are truly a part of the surroundings.
We received excellent service throughout our stay. The food was of the highest quality. Superb choices were offered for all of our meals both breakfast and dinner. The day tours were very organized and well planned. We were able to make adjustments according to our own personal wishes when the need arouse. The flexibility of the driver and tour guide was greatly appreciated. We had evening entertainment in the castle after dinner several nights. The head cook even gave us hands on tips on how she made some of her signature meals. The sit down morning breakfast was such a delicious and fun way to start our day. The availability of a washer and dryer made for light packing.
This was one of the most enjoyable travel experiences we ever had and we look forward to returning to the LISHEEN Castle.

This was a once in a lifetime experience for us and our family! The castle was magnificent, Zane was helpful and informative, and Ireland was fantastic!

Beautiful castle in an amazing setting. The scenery is gorgeous! The grounds were perfectly manicured. The castle is beautiful on the inside as well. The restoration is unbelievable considering it was once in rubble. The rooms are plentiful, all with their own titles and most their bathrooms as well. The decor is historic and beautiful but comfortable at the same time. Equipped with modern conveniences such as washer/dryer, restaurant style kitchen and wifi throughout. Zane is a very gracious host, he even took us on the roof. Shhhh:) He was also extremely helpful in guiding us to local restaurants and attractions. I'm so glad we didn't choose the B&B hop thing. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience for me and my family!

An amazing place to vacation, we had a family group of 12 ages from 12 to 65. Zane was on site to greet us when we arrived, gave us a quick tour and some suggestions of some local places to visit. All of us were in awe of the castle and the property that it sits on. It was just beautiful and comfortable. Zane was just a phone call away for anything that we may have needed. Just think about it, a vacation in a castle, in Ireland, don't get any better than that!

My group of 14 rents a place each year and the challenge is to top the year before. Lisheen Castle is now at the top of the list, which includes a chateau in Normandy, villas in Italy, a palace in Spain, and a castle in Austria. The host and the staff were wonderful, and the setting is something out of a story book. In short a great experience. Don't hesitate. Go there.

It's not everyday you get to stay in a castle. Our family of 14 had an amazing experience staying at the Lisheen Castle. From the little touches of antiques, paintings, and old photographs to the amazing views of the Ireland countryside and the beautiful Castle grounds. The central location was great with the town of Thurles a short drive away and many other main attractions of Ireland within manageable distances. We had our own personal driver in the wonderful Tom, who did a terrific job managing the narrow windy roads and getting us place to place safely! Tom and Mary were even kind enough to make the two hour drive to the Shannon Airport twice when we had late arrivals and early departures in our group. A family favorite of the trip were the meals provided by Ursula, Anne Marie, and Michelle...not only were they delicious, but they provided us with lots of laughter each morning to start our day off on a great start.
Zane not only assured that everything was perfect upon arrival, he continuously throughout our stay made sure that everything was perfect and ensured that we wanted for nothing. The first night in the castle we were without wifi (God forbid!!) and we informed Zane, the next day someone was at the castle fixing the problem and we had no more problems the rest of the stay. His quickness and attentiveness to the fix the problem was greatly appreciated, especially with the internet obsessed young members of our family. :) Our family would recommend the Lisheen Castle to anyone who asks. We all hope to go back someday in the future!

We had a group of 14 people and this made for a fantastic holiday. The property is in great shape; there are so many nooks and crannies to explore, including the grounds; the owners are so nice and responsive. We can't recommend Lisheen Castle enough!

Fabulous experience for my wife and I as well as our children and grandchildren. Living in a beautifully restored 19th century castle with all the modern conveniences was a unique experience my family will never forget. The central location allowed for easy day trips by car or rail to all our preferred locations. Zane, the owner, was a gracious host and always easily reachable to answer any questions.

Our stay at Lisheen far exceeded our expectations. From Ursula's incredible cooking, to Joe's wittiness during tours, to Tom's ability to navigate the roads of Ireland, to Zane's over-the-top hospitality - we were blown away. The tour package was incredible, taking us to places we hadn't thought of visiting and setting us up with private tours from the best tour guides at each location. Zane and Tom went out of their way to assist my mom as she needed rides to and from the train station so she could visit relatives she hasn't seen in years...Zane even personally drove her to her cousin's wedding nearly an hour's drive from Lisheen!! We fondly recall our memories from this trip and owe all our gratitude to Zane and his team.

It has been about a month since we spent an incredible week at the fabulous Lisheen Castle. We just can't stop thinking or talking about our stay there. We really were treated like royalty. The host, Zane and all the wonderful people who worked tirelessly to make our stay such a memorable experience, were all first class. Zane couldn't do enough for us. Ursula, the delightful chef, amazed us every single day with her huge, delicious, piping hot breakfasts and fine dinners served in the spacious, stunning formal dining room. Think..."Downton Abbey." Joe, one of our guides, was extremely helpful, entertaining and most charming. Paddy and Tom, our drivers, took us safely all over Ireland in a luxurious Mercedes coach. George, another guide, was an expert on the local history, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. All tours were well planned, timely and interesting. The castle itself exceeded all our expectations. The photos don't really portray it's true beauty. It is obvious that every effort was made to return the castle to it's former majestic beauty. Attention to detail is evident. Upon arrival, the WOW factor was overwhelming. The grounds were just as spectacular. We were blessed with gorgeous sunny skies, so we enjoyed beverages on the patio courtyard. The bedrooms and ensuites were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Each bedroom was beautifully decorated. We truly felt like Lords and Ladies!! We will forever remember our time at Lisheen Castle with extreme fondness and gratitude for having been able to enjoy the wonderful people of Ireland and the gorgeous countryside, in a stunningly beautiful home. We would highly recommend Lisheen Castle. You will not be disappointed. Truly a trip of a lifetime.

Such a beautiful, peaceful, secluded place! There is plenty of space for the whole family and it's close enough to tour the beautiful sites of Ireland! The customer service was amazing, offering our family anything we needed. The castle was clean and very welcoming. There were so much to see and do by booking Lisheen! I would go back in a second!

My family and I cannot recommend Lisheen Castle and the Ireland Tour more highly! In every respect, this was the vacation of a lifetime, and my family will never forget it. To start with, the Castle itself is simply breathtaking. Inside and out, it has been restored with fidelity to its 19th century splendor and as guests, we felt as if we had been transported back in time 200 years--yet with all the modern conveniences of the 21st century. The interior design is exquisite, with each antique piece, from the suit of armor in the hallway, to the multiple marble fireplaces, to the wood-fired cooking stove in the kitchen, to each painting, tapestry, and plate on the walls--carefully selected to capture the spirit and mood of the Castle.
In addition to the Castle itself, the ground are simply stunning--pastoral and meticulously maintained. My partner and I planned our family trip around our 25th anniversary, and we chose Lisheen Castle in part due to the picturesque beauty of the location, with its manicured lawns and flower gardens against the rustic stone of the castle. The pictures both we and the professional photographer we hired for our re-commitment ceremony were extraordinary.
The Irish Touring Vacation package was worth every penny--and then some. The tour guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Each of the tours was carefully planned and every detail thought through in advance so we never had to worry about transportation, parking, admission fees, where to eat, or any other time consuming detail. We simply had to show up and enjoy! Which brings me to the food: perhaps the best part of the Package.
Chef Ursula was not only warm and friendly, with a big, perpetual smile; her food was out of this world! Each meal was perfectly planned, beautifully cooked, and artfully presented. While remaining authentically Irish, there was wonderful variety and inventiveness in the dishes, and the whole family just couldn't get enough of it. The kitchen team--Anne Marie, Ailish, Joe, and Sharon--were exceptionally fast and attentive and could not have been kinder, friendlier, or more accommodating. It was like eating at a fine dining restaurant every night.
Perhaps the most important element of our holiday at Lisheen Castle was the hospitality. From the tour guides, to the bus drivers (thank you Tom and Francis!), to the team at the Castle, everyone we encountered was genuine, outgoing, friendly, and just plain nice.

The castle is a beautifully restored, picturesque property in the heart of Ireland, and Zane was an excellent host. He helped us with area attractions, luggage issues, and making us feel welcome. There are many castles and other attractions within a moderate drive from the castle; no matter how tired you may be from sightseeing, it always feels welcoming to arrive back at the castle, enjoy a nice fire, and open a Guinness!

Thank you to Zane for making our fairytale wedding at Lisheen Castle a reality! We couldn't be more pleased with how smoothly everything was orchestrated. You really went above and beyond assisting us with organising all aspects of the ceremony and our special dinner with your amazing chef, Ursula. The property was beautiful kept with every detail carefully looked after - just a dream come true. The kids loved having the run of the back garden and you even created a few new hurling fans.
The castle exceeded our expectations in every way. While having an old world feel, all of the amenities are modern and well-kept. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable; our son especially loved reading in the turret of the Lord's room.
We can't wait to come back to celebrate an anniversary!

If you are reading this, it's because your considering a family vacation in Ireland. Well you need not have any reservations regarding Lisheen Castle. Last July our family of 16 came and stayed here to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. The first view of the castle and it's lawns from the road is breathtaking. The bedrooms are comfortable and beautiful, the kitchen a pleasure to work in. After a long day of touring, we would sit outside the in the garden and have a glass of wine while the kids played soccer in the courtyard. Zane, a great guy, couldn't be more accommodating and down to earth. He offered much advise as to the best sites to see, walks to take, pubs to visit. He referred us to a lovely women named Ursula who came to the castle our first night and prepared a wonderful dinner. There are local livery services who will take you down to town for a night at the pub and bring you back. This was the most magical vacation and I hope we can make it back to Lisheen someday.

The castle is beautifully restored in a picturesque setting with lovely grounds. we came to Ireland to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday and to celebrate his Irish roots. We were a group of 27--grandparents, adult children and grandchildren down to the age of 4...a difficult challenge for anyone. However, Zane, the proprietor and operator handled the task beautifully. His team of chef, assistant, and housekeeper made the castle warm and welcoming, and even the tour bus driver came to feel like a personal friend.
I cannot imagine any place that would have created a more pleasant environment for us or have left us with happier memories.

The Lisheen Castle was an unforgettable part of our trip to Ireland. It has been restored with the beauty of the past, while providing the comforts of our modern day. Every room has lovely furniture and bedding, and all but one have their own bathroom. There was always enough hot water and although I was warned in advance by others who have stayed in cold European castles, this castle always had a comfortable temperature. Because it is set in the countryside, this castle also provides a quiet atmosphere for a good night’s rest. It was a busy week of driving from place to place, but it was always nice to come back to the castle in the evenings. We started to refer to the castle as “home” while we were out and about discussing whether we were ready to go “home” from our day of touring. Zane was a wonderful host and his son made quick friends with our son when he visited the castle grounds. We highly recommend Lisheen Castle!!

We visited the castle for a week with my husband's family to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of his parents. The castle was a perfect blend of art and functionality. It was beautifully restored and very homey. Loved the warm dining room and morning room where we could meet and chat/have coffee etc. The rooms were large and beds were comfortable. The castle accommodated all of our family needs well--from the media room and spacious grounds where the kids could play to the comfortable sitting rooms and patio where the adults could enjoy conversation and wifi. Zane was an amazing host and the catered anniversary dinner was delicious.

Our group's stay at Lisheen was simply amazing from start to finish. Zane is the perfect host, and the castle is centrally located to facilitate the great tour of Ireland Zane had arranged for out group. The castle is incredible, and our group agreed that our stay at Lisheen was far and away the best vacation any of us had ever had. Would highly recommend this as a trip not to be missed.

There were 18 of us and we fit perfectly. It was centrally located in the Republic of Ireland. The major tourist sites were 1 or 2 hrs away. Also there are good tourist areas nearby. The castle was beutifully restored and the coutry side was picturesqe. Zane, the manager was very helpfull. The catered meals were outstanding. The nearby restaurant, Chez Hans restaurant was world class. I recommend the Lisheen Castle without qualification. Martin Spellman, Fremont, CA. USA
