Spacious farmhouse with historical charm, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, responsive host, and great location near Acadia and Bar Harbor. Perfect for large families or groups.

The stay was really great! The house was beautiful and the surrounding area was quiet. There was a trail a 10 minute walk from the house, and it was also possible to walk to hulls cove beach. The house was just what I wanted to introduce my friends and family to Maine. The house has preserved its historic feel. There was a lovely porch outside with room for the whole group to sit and enjoy the stars at night. Lots of bedrooms and beds for everyone, and enough bathrooms. The host was responsive and was able to come by quickly with a different coffee maker when the one that was there initially didn't work.

We enjoyed our time at the house for a family reunion. There was plenty of space indoors and outside for kids to play and to spend time together. The kitchen and dining area was very charming and caught the morning light beautifully. Easy to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia for activities.

Our stay at the Cider House couldn’t have been better. Amazing location, helpful hosts and super clean. Thank you Trish for the perfect getaway for our large extended family.

Our stay here was absolutely perfect! We had a large group—5 adults, 6 teens, and 2 children. The house has everything we needed for an ideal stay. The kitchen is packed with everything we needed, including a crock pot which was helpful for days we just wanted to come back to dinner ready. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms are well-situated. We could all spread out and have alone time if we wanted, or easily gather in the public spaces. Would highly recommend this house for anyone looking for a comfortable stay very close to Bar Harbor!

We loved our stay at the Cider House! It was a wonderful and comfortable house to play yard and table games and gather in different rooms for family activities. The farm house feel of the kitchen was cozy and facilitated many conversations around the table and over food prep. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to perpare meals, including spices and herbs. Trish was a terrific host and provided paper goods in ample supply (not common in my experience with VRBO). Some of the furniture was wobbly. We appreciated a separate bar and refrigerator for adult drinks which meant there was plenty of room in the large kitchen fridge for kid drinks and food.
An atypical heat wave in Maine for us meant that the upstairs rooms were warmer than wanted. Open windows and fans (many!) in each room were helpful to circulate air, especially at night. The host notebook was helpful, including how to navigate to a closeby lake for swimming... we never would have found this without local insights found in the notebook. Trish made everything easy.

Beautiful older home, very comfortable. Bedrooms were all comfortable. We love gathering in the kitchen dining area for eating and games. The children ages 5 to 12 enjoyed exploring the house and playing in the yard. Internet was spotty at times but other than that and Beautiful vacation. Perfect location.

Great location! The house was large enough to give everyone space but had such a homey feel and great areas for everyone to gather.

We had a very large family gathering for a family reunion vacation and needed a very large home to accommodate. This house did not disappoint. It was very clean and well stocked. We had 17 people and never felt that it was an overly crowded space. The location to Bar Harbor and Acadia was perfect. And the hostess was friendly and accommodating. Overall a great stay!

Great house for the 17 of us. Room to spread out in and gather for meals as desired. Loved the porch with chairs and my grandson loved the ducks and chickens.

Such a magical place! Lots of space and charm for everyone. It was perfect for our family, we really enjoy places with lots of historical charm. My 80 year old mother said it was just like the farm house she grew up in; she felt right at home. The worn stoop with the door cut to accommodate it just one of the many charming pieces of this place. Lots of room for kids to roam around and play. Plenty of toys and games inside and out. We did run into a couple of glitches, and I just mention them to illustrate how quickly the host Trish responds. Beds were comfy, great ventilation and natural light, plenty of bathrooms and towels. Can’t say enough. Didn’t want to leave.

This house was very large and easily fit our group. Everyone had their own room and there were still some left over! The kitchen was up to date and there were three dining tables so everyone could fit. Patricia was very responsive - check in and out were very easy.

Family of 10 (including 4 kids from 7-12) stayed in this house in October. Awesome house!! More than enough room for our family (countless beds and bedrooms) and kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed for our meals in. Location to Bar Harbor and Acadia was awesome - 3 minutes from Acadia visitor center and 5 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. Would recommend this house 100 times over to any large groups looking for an awesome location in Bar Harbor.

The Farmhouse had plenty of large spaces for our family of 12 adults to gather for meals, drinks, and games, as well as smaller areas to retreat and enjoy a book or some quiet time. The seven bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The large deck was great for morning coffee and evening drinks. The place was charming and allowed us to enjoy our trip to New England in the Fall! 🍂🍁

The house was perfect for our large group. We had a mix of kids and adults and the house provided plenty of space for us to spread out. The kids loved playing hide and seek in the many rooms. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and having laundry was a huge plus. The location was close to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia. We would definitely stay here again!

My family of 13 had such a wonderful time. We all enjoyed games on the expansive lawn. The house was so roomy and well equipped. It is in a great location; minutes to Acadia. Trish the property owner is extremely responsive to any needs you have and genuinely wants her visitors to have an enjoyable stay. This was our second stay at Cider House and a great escape for all

This VRBO was great for our family of 14. It is a large house with plenty of bedrooms and beds for all. The kitchen is large and seemed well stocked for everything we made. The large deck is great with a gas grill, relaxing places to sit and 2 picnic tables if you want eat outside. This is an older place so with that the floors are uneven with thresholds to watch out for. My aging parents did need to watch their step a bit. Other than that, I would highly recommend this place since the location cannot be beat. The turn in to Acadia is very close and it is a short 5-6 min drive in to Bar Harbor when we went in to town. The kids loved the surrounding lawn area to play baseball or laser tag. Trish was great to communicate with and we would definitely stay here again if back in town.

Great house. Great location. Great host!

The house was great for very big family. It is very rustic. Its location is very convenient to Acadia National Park entrance (Hull's Cove) and to Bar Harbor. We actually walked the three miles to Bar Harbor. It is convenient to walk down to water for early morning sunrise or late sunsets. There is a restaurant at the end of the hard surface road. The neighborhood where the house is located is very quiet. We only had an issue with the freezer which owner fixed promptly. The only other real issue was that the washer had broken before we arrived. The new one was to be installed on Wed; however, when we left on Saturday, it still had not been installed.

The house was large enough and comfortable for our crew of 13 with two families, adult children, and their significant others. The owner, Trish, was great to deal with and was quick to respond when a couple of plumbing-related issues came up. We enjoyed the large dining areas and the deck was a nice place to gather in the afternoons. Beds were comfortable and overall we had a great time. Thanks Trish!.

Lovely setting and comfortably large home for everyone. Great access to Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Very well loved house farm. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. The oven wasn't working properly. We found a couple nails on the floors that tore our socks and the locks in the bathrooms didn’t lock. The location was great just 7 minutes from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Overall great house and experience. Definitely recommended for big families.

Our family had a great vacation. The house was plenty of room for everyone. The location was very convenient to the park loop and downtown. Quiet country setting.

Loved our stay at this property. Plenty of room for the whole family. The kitchen was a wonderful gathering place for cooking laughter and fun there were plenty of floor fans throughout the house however, one suggestion might be small wall units for individual rooms as a few days, it did get into the 90s and without air conditioning. It was uncomfortable, upstairs another nice addition to the knife drawer might be a knife sharpener as there were a lack of sharp knives Location of the home was perfect. Easy to get into Bar Harbor, Acadia, national Park, and other places of interest. Would stay at this property again. Great for a large family. Plenty of room for outdoor games and exploring.

I enjoyed the overall experience and communication with the owner. I would recommend. It is an older home and some of the beds are very soft, but bathroom are nice and good water pressure important! Thanks William

We absolutely LOVED our time in Trish’s home! The house is clean, spacious and filled with history! We had a large group and we never felt on top of each other. The outside yard was perfect for easy nights and playing games! The house is incredibly stocked, one of the best we’ve seen! The house is so conveniently located to Acadia and Downtown! I can’t recommend this property enough. Thank you so much, Trish, it’s a trip we’ll never forget!

The charm of the Cider House and it's prime location have given us two summer vacations to remember!

We were two families vacationing in bar harbor. The location was excellent close to Acadia which was very nice. I didn’t give a full five stars because the property didn’t have A/C and we experienced a heat wave which was rather warm. Wifi could also be improved, but not sure if that is the limitation of the location.
Otherwise a wonderful stay!

Gateway to Acadia
This home was well equipped with everything you need. There were plenty of beds and hot water never ran out. The property was great for the kids to play all sorts of outdoor games. Location is very close to Hull’s Cove entrance to Acadia and a very short drive to Bar Harbor. The house is historic, so it has a lot of character and plenty of room. A constructive criticism would be that there are a lit of windows with no screens and holes in some of the existing ones. The kitchen door onto the deck really needs a screen door so bugs don’t fly in. There is no air conditioning, but plenty of fans.

We enjoyed the spacious of the property's indoor and outdoor.
The house located in a nice quiet and convenient to the Cadillac mountain.

Gorgeous, Spacious Farmhouse.
Easy check in. Super clean. Very large, we enjoyed all the sitting rooms. Saw deer and turkeys each morning. Great location, super quick to town, and visitors center to catch the shuttle to the park. Stocked with everything you need, plus more! We enjoyed the chart room and sweet peas (farm to table pizza place). Overall I’d be thrilled to stay again.
