About this bed and breakfast
This is the master suite of a house that contains two other rentable units, each with their own bedroom, entrance, bathroom, cooking and eating area. This adobe wing of the Heart and Wings Retreat Center has a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, Mexican rug, hand-painted chest, and a twin sleigh bed.
The foyer includes a queen-sized sofa bed, Mexican rugs and Mexican mirror.
If guests use both the large bedroom and the sleeper sofa in the foyer to sleep, the people in the large bedroom will need to walk through the foyer, past any one of you who is sleeping on the sofa there, to access the bathroom.
The bathroom has twin Mexican sinks and Mexican tiles. The dining room is surrounded by mountain views.
Guests share use of the hot tub with the owners and renters of the two other units under the same roof.
You can regularly see deer, rabbits and quail out the bedroom window.
The location is convenient to downtown Silver City as well as the Gila National Forest. The Continental Divide Trail is a ten-minute drive away. The highway is a five-minute drive away, and it takes ten minutes to drive to the center of town.
You can hike and bike straight out the front door.

Place was perfect. Beautiful and comfortable home with the added bonus of bird watching while enjoying a coffee in the morning. The location was also convenient to the sights of the Gila. Definitely would go back

FILTHY DIRTY ~ OVER IMPOSING HOSTS ~ CONSTANTLY WATCHED ~ NO PRIVACY ~ LIVING IN THEIR STUFF
This was the WORST vaca stay I ever had. It is not a vacation home. It was like staying as an UNwelcome guest in some stranger's home with all of their belongings. It I chose to stay because I was exhausted from 6 months of travel and I tried to make the best of it but it was a very, very, very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience - eveyrthing was FILTHY DIRTY. The bedding and towels felt dirty - I never slept on the beds the entire time. The kitchen was FILTHY - all kinds of food dirt and the owners old, smelly food everywhere - no place for my own food or clothes - I never even unpacked. The rugs and kitchen carpets were also filthy dirty. There were old pharmaceutical drugs everywhere. There was dust on everything. It was very dirty and dusty. The closets were full of their personal items. There were food smells. I tried to air it out and the owner abruptly came in and slammed the door closed demanding I keep the door closed. Then after she reprimanded me, she emailed me so as to continue to invade my private space and remind me of her rules. Lots and lots of rules there. THE owner is VERY INTRUSIVE and OVER IMPOSING. Whenever I walked on the property, I felt that they were watching me. When I went in the hot tub, the male owner stood in the doorway of his house watching me. It was extremely uncomfortable ~ I knew that I would not get my fees back and I was exhausted so I did make the best of it, but I highly recommend you SKIP this place.

Not what was expected
Upon arrival, we were surprised to find out that we were not alone in the house. I was under the impression that my family was the only one with access to our portion of the house. Not so, we opened doors that were not locked and came upon other guests who were quite rude. At that point we became uncomfortable enough to decide to leave and stay at a local hotel. When contacting the owner about our experience we were informed that there was a strict no refund policy. After another attempt to communicate with the owner, the owner chose not to respond to me. Worst experience I have ever had using VRBO and extremely surprised at the owners lack of willingness to come to some sort of resolution.

Close to town, yet a world away!
Ann and I thoroughly enjoyed our way-too-short 48 hours in Silver City. We chose Azaima’s “Heart and Wings Retreat” as a base for exploring Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument and Silver City. Azaima’s “Tanager Suite” was lovely — surprisingly large, full kitchen, living room, bedroom with huge windows overlooking bird feeders and woods. Even a sitting area w/sofa bed. Lovely decor, spiritual touches throughout. And very clean. We’d love to return to explore more of the region. Thanks to Azaima, Brandon and pups Zola and Cassie!

Lovely location close to town
I really enjoyed staying here. The property is beautiful and a nice distance from town. The host was pleasant and helpful, but otherwise left us to our own devices. While we knew there were others staying at the property, it wasn't noticable except for a few stray words as people walked by.

Great Week for Birders
We loved our view of the sunrise from our bedroom, then the view of a tree full of birds and bird feeders--from our bedroom and from the porch. Could have spent the day right there. Wonderful host, helpful with local information, and generous hospitality. Thank you Azaima!!
