Friendly country inn for a relaxing break in the South Downs

Beautiful room and wonderful food made this a weekend to remember.

There’s some rough road on the way in. Be careful!

First class stay at the White Horse Inn.

Friendly, welcoming staff and a very comfortable room. Excellent supper and breakfast with good service on both occasions. We especially appreciated the racehorse themed rooms and decor given we come from Epsom, home of the Derby!

This was a perfect choice for anyone going to any event at Goodwood.

The Full English was excellent. Good quality produce served on time as requested. The Hotel was within easy reach for Goodwood Festival of Speed. Secure parking at no extra cost. Well appointed Bar with plenty of draught beers.

All the party of seven couldn't fault the hotel.

Exceptional

Delightful place to stay in the pretty little village of Sutton in the Pulborough area. Great if you are attending a wedding at one of the many nearby venues (like we were), or if you want to visit some great local vineyards. Lovely rooms and facilities, very clean and high quality. The restaurant menu has something for everyone. The food was excellent, not a single complaint and pretty similar to Michelin standards. The staff are super welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to Billy (the landlord) for being so helpful and making our stay so wonderful. We said we would have to skip breakfast on our first morning as we had an early start for the wedding, so Billy had fresh pastries delivered to our rooms instead - what a thoughtful, kind gesture! We'd be happy to stay again the next time we're in the Pulborough area.

Most enjoyable, highly recommended and we will not hesitate to return!

We were warmly welcomed, and every effort was made to explain the various facilities. The management and staff were extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. The cuisine in the restaurant was superb on the two nights we ate at the White Horse, and the breakfasts were also very good.

A wider selection on the restaurant menu would have been desirable if we had been staying longer. It was absolutely for our relatively short stay.

Fabulous country bolt hole

Beautiful room, so comfortable - one of the best we have experienced in quite a while. Excellent service Lovely dining experience Top notch food, generous portions.

Whilst the food was absolutely delicious we wondered if it was over seasoned as we were very dehydrated by the saltiness the next day.

The location was so beautiful and tucked away. We were surprised to receive a free upgrade when we arrived, and the cabins were so picturesque! The staff couldn't do enough to help us and make us feel welcomed.

Good nights sleep with an excellent dinner

Quiet location and no night time noise, Good location for getting to Goodwood Revival. Excellent dinner. Also great help in providing early morning breakfast in room or to take with us. Bedroom very roomy - as was bathroom- have everything we needed.

Pricing at upper end of what we would like to pay for a pub albeit high standards

Wonderful stay.

Really great stay - stylish, comfortable bedrooms with very comfy beds. Staff very friendly and very accommodating when I needed to push my dinner reservation back due to traffic. Food delicious too. I also found it great value - location is a bit out of the way (though sure it’s fab for walkers etc, and was perfect for my needs, but it’s not off the motorway if that’s your vibe) but was in a really pretty Village. Couldn’t fault it.
