We loved the spacious and beautiful family home - with its history and its gorgeous view of the Sakonnet River across the farm. Also, a great jumping-off point for activities, whether on Sakonnet Point, Adamsville, Westport, or Tiverton - and beyond. Warm, welcoming host with Rick Peckham. Great sleeping breeze off the ocean. Overall, great place, great stay. :)

This was our fourth stay at the Peckham's family house. It reminds me of summers on eastern Long Island in the 1960s. Not fancy, but big and warm and welcoming. Every year more of my family and friends fall in love with this house.

We rented this property because of the number of people the house can accommodated but were blown away with the charm, character and location of the property. The hosts were responsive and easily available but not required because the property is well appointed and maintained. We started planning our next trip to Little Compton on our second day with every intention of renting what we called the Yellow house. For perspective we traveled with a large group of our extended family which required us to rent three properties in the area and the Yellow House by far was our favorite. If you are looking for a comfortable get away with friends or family the memories are waiting to be created at this well cared for property.

Our third year staying at the Peckman House. Delightful for grandparents, adults, kids, and toddlers. A very Little Compton home - perfect for our family! Everything was easy for us to make this stay wonderful: communication in advance and throughout our stay, check in and out. Will be back again!

The last night at the Peckham house, I sat in "my" bed in "my" room and booked the property again for summer 2023. Which will be our fourth stay and I hope not our last. This place is like the summer house of my childhood in eastern Long Island--unfussy, atmospheric, friendly, beautiful. The family that owns and manages it are so accommodating. Oh, the epic dinners we have cooked and eaten in the kitchen/dining room, the music we've played on the porch, the games of home-made wooden paddle tennis we've played on the lawn. I just love this house.

Our stay at the Big Yellow House!
This house and grounds provide plenty of space indoors and out. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our group and there were plenty of bedrooms (we didn't use them all) and bathrooms as well as seats at the table. The kitchen provided ample space for the cook and anyone else helping out. We played games out on the front lawn most evenings and the stone wall that surrounded it provided a nice safety feature for the little ones. The few shortcomings: the refrigerator lacked shelving as one of the main shelves was broken so items needed to be stacked and some rooms lacked window shades which would have been a problem if everyone that was supposed to come did. In addition, without air-conditioning, it did get hot and humid inside. However, everyone was able to sleep. The house is situated just a couple of miles from a number of beaches, and it was fun exploring Tiverton 4 Corners as well as Little Compton's center. Grey's Ice Cream was a hit with everyone. My granddaughter referred to where we were staying as the Big Yellow House. Everyone enjoyed their stay.

Beautiful stay at the perfect place on LC!
Our second annual stay at the Peckman’s property and we are already counting down again until next summer’s trip. The place was absolutely perfect for our family gathering of 8 adults and 3 kids. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is perfectly equipped (grill in the yard as well!) and the location is fabulous. We cherished our evening drinks on the porch overlooking beautiful yard and ocean views as the sunset! Easy drive to the public beach and into town. So enjoy the Peckman’s hospitality and can’t wait to come again. Thanks so much for hosting our favorite family vacation!

Words are inadequate but I'll try
Many decades ago, I spent summers by the ocean at an old, friendly house very much like this one. So when I come here (this was my second visit and not my last!) I feel as if I'm entering a dreamscape. It's not a fancy property and it's not within walking distance to the beach, which I selfishly hope will keep away the kind of people who are basically looking for the Outer Banks, north version. The Peckham Family are wonderful hosts. Everyone feels at home the minute they step in the door. We had epic seafood dinners around the big dining table and perfect cocktail hours on the front porch. Nothing better than washing off the sand of the day in the outdoor shower! See? I don't have the words.

Perfect LC vacation!
My family has been vacationing in LC for 30-+ years and this year, staying at the Peckham house, was one of our very best. The place is absolutely wonderful, quintessential LC experience. Our hosts were easily available to answer our questions, but the place had everything we needed. It was great for my parents (60+) and my kids (2yo and 8mo). We could even see the Newport fireworks from the porch! Thanks so much to the Peckham family, we hope to return again next year!

Enjoyable stay in Little Compton
The Peckham House is well cared for and in a great location in Little Compton. There was more than enough room for us (5 adults, 2 children), and the kitchen was well equipped for meals at home.
Our only gripe was the iron in the well water, causing us to have to use bottled water for drinking/coffee, and stained whites when washing clothes, and wasn't ideal when bathing. The property owners acknowledged this and planned to remediate in the future.
Great views of the water from the porch and two of the upstairs bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

Fantastic Trip to Little Compton, RI
We really enjoyed staying in the old Peckham Yellow Farm house. Rick was a great host. The property was very accommodating to our 9 travelers ( 6 adults/ 3 children) Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the house. Really enjoyed the view from the front porch and the huge front lawn. Kids loved playing Croquet in the afternoon shade out front. House was very comfortable even on warm days. Fans were great at night to make it even more comfortable. Super close to Walkers and Youngs vegetable stands. Very convenient location to both LC and Westport shopping and beaches. Highly recommend ! We had a terrific time !

Picture Perfect Week!
We've been waiting all year to return to this beautiful home, and it was just as wonderful! This year we explored new places and especially loved Fogland Beach and Simmons Pond, where we saw so many magical birds and butterflies. We'll be back again and again!

Great family vacation
Stayed for a week with my kids (ages 10-15). We biked to the beach, Farm stand, town store and out for ice cream. Enjoyed the large front yard that was perfect for whiffle ball and yard games. We all had a wonderful time in this quiet town.

Overall my extended family enjoyed the house. The property is large enough for 4 couples. There is fans but not AC (in the fall it didn't matter). It was close to our destinations. The women of the family loved the antiques and took joy in showing me all of the pieces spread throughout the house. We visited the Greenhouse repeatedly, and brought several plants home. It is very extensive and diverse. The beds are comfortable. There was a daybed in the lower level which worked out well for one person who had difficulty with stairs. But, this does not mean the place is handicapped accessible, it took two of us to get our 93 year old father in and out either of the doorways. We understood it was an old house and we took that into consideration. We had a blip the first day, and contacted the owner, we were offered an apology. The room with the antique furniture needs to be cleaned. My sister tried to read a book, using the the chair in the corner, and it smelled, she ended up moving to a different room. Several dining chairs around the house have missing seat caning. Overall it was comfortable, it was an experience, and if you enjoy antiques and country living, this is the place to go.

Picture Perfect!
This gracious house is beautiful, extremely spacious, well-stocked, and perfect for relaxing with friends and family. We loved walking to Walkers Farmstand, picking blueberries, visiting Sakonnet Vineyard, and walking along Lloyd's Beach at sunset. We took several day trips into Newport to hit Second Beach as well. We hope to come back again and again!

Great location!
We loved the yellow farmhouse for our weeklong beach vacation. Had lots of room for our two young boys, au pair and Grandma.
The beds were comfortable, the washer and dryer got lots of use and the kitchen was decently outfitted. The views of the water and cows across the street were bucolic!
To be clear, there is an apartment attached to the back of the house and the owner’s greenhouse shared the driveway so there was a Bobcat driving around one day out there. You’ll need to be careful with little ones around the yard (house is on a busy road).
We had a lovely time and would definitely return to the farm house.

Charming yellow antique farmhouse
We loved our stay at the charming yellow antique farmhouse on West Main Road. We felt we had stepped back in time, surrounded by nineteenth- and early twentieth-century antique furniture and decorative details. When we arrived, the house was clean and tidy, and there were two beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers for us in the kitchen. The owners were friendly, helpful, and always available, though the only advice we needed from them was which flowering plants we should buy at their nearby greenhouse.

Wonderful spacious house with a history
The Peckham farmhouse is a lovely house with lots of space for our large family. We were there with our two sons and their families. Plenty of bedrooms for all. Easy moving in , linens and plenty of towels are provided. The porch is fabulous! A very convenient location to Walkers produce stand, and Wilma’s Bakery next door. Pies like homemade! Wilbur’s General Store is on the way to South Shore Beach. We had a great week!

Beautiful old farm house with amazing views
My wife and two small children stayed for 2 weeks. We know the area but had not stayed in this part of town. Loved walking to walkers, the farmstand nearby. The Peckham family were amazing hosts. The hose is on the main road so you can hear cars but this is not a town with traffic! The house and bedrooms and bathrooms were great and it's a wonderful kitchen and front porch for entertaining.

Bliss!
We were a family of 6, looking for a quiet week of beach and reading before the autumn madness. The Peckham farmhouse completely fit the bill. The front porch looked out over a cow field and water, and we biked or walked to Walker's to pick up fresh produce and prepared foods. The beaches were glorious. We didn't want to be near any commerce, so Little Compton was perfect for us: library, general store, a few restaurants and a great consignment shop. Bring or buy groceries on your way. The nearest market is a bit of a ride. Rick Peckham was such a lovely host--very responsive to all our questions and he made great recommendations as well. We cooked at home, but the final night splurged at The Red Dory. Truly memorable. Finally--the house. Rambling, immaculate, great sheets, pillows and lighting. What a jewel of a rental and town.
