Guests had a wonderful time at this property, enjoying the clean, spacious interiors, stunning views, wildlife sightings, and attentive hosts.

We loved this property! Great layout, clean and comfortable. Tasteful renovation. We stayed with our daughter and her husband and two young children. We used the swingset and porch often. It was great to be able to just walk down to the dock without any steps! We rented a pontoon and it was fun fishing and cruising the lake.. Owners were very responsive to a couple of concerns.

This is our third year spending a week enjoying the scenic Northwoods. Everything was great as always and really enjoy making memories at this property. Very secluded and quiet to enjoy campfires, the outdoor wildlife and family time. Thanks for sharing!

We all had a fantastic time! The house, property and location is first rate. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed the location of this property on Big St. Germain. We had previously stayed on Little Saint and Lake Content. We appreciated the lack of bugs at our evening campfires just as the owners claimed! We didn’t use the bug spray once! Entry to water is flat, which is nice. Parking the boat was easy . The home was very clean and kitchen was well stocked. I never ran out of plates or cups. I appreciated the quality of pans that they had. I would have liked some chip clips, but that’s the only thing I couldn’t find. Hot water never ran out and the beds were comfortable. The refrigerator did not dispense water or ice which was a slight inconvenience. Overall nice property and owners were very responsive.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at this beautiful property! It was very clean, spacious, nicely furnished, and extremely well stocked. We especially loved the screened-in porch, the fireplace, bonfire pit, the stunning views, and wildlife- lots of deer and eagles! The hosts were very attentive and helpful. This was our second time renting here and we can’t wait to come back!

This property is well maintained and has loads of space for your belongings. The decor ties in perfectly with the spacious outdoor area and Big St Germaine Lake. The next nearest pier was 100 yards away giving you complete privacy. The firepit was a perfect ending to each day while watching the sunset over the lake. The quality is very high compared to other VRBO rentals in the past. Fishing was good (overall) catching crappy, perch, small mouth bass, northern pike and blue gills. Lots of wildlife around the area, especially deer and the resident bald eagles not to mention the photos we snapped of the elusive Pilated Woodpecker!!! We had an amazing time and loved every minute of our stay.

Great property! Our 2nd year spending a week at this home and enjoy the privacy and sunsets. Home is well equipped for anything you need and accommodations are modern and well kept. Have a return trip booked for next year. Good swimming frontage for kids to play. Location is perfect in proximity to many restaurants, grocery store and attractions. Thanks for sharing your home!

Thank you Mike and Lori for the use of your wonderful place! It’s the best location on the whole lake! We loved watching the 3 resident eagles, many duck families, loons and deer in the yard! Wonderful week at a wonderful place!

The home is very nice and well equipped. We ate most all meals here. The grill was so nice to use. It is so relaxing we just didn’t want to go out.
The yard to the dock is flat and it was really nice for senior citizens to enjoy going down to boat or just sitting on the dock.
We were centrally located to everything we wanted to do.
I highly recommend this property and hope to visit many more times in the future.

This home is so lovely, clean and updated. You can tell they took great care with a recent remodel of the house. There is a large level yard and great screened in porch. The lake was pretty windy the week we were there and fishing was tough at times. We visited the 2 smaller lakes that connect and fished the dock when the wind died down. Saint Germain is a great little town to visit as well.

So Updated
This was a great place. Everything was so nice and new. We liked that we could use the washer and dryer. The view from the screen porch and the large windows in the house were wonderful. The best sunsets. There were so many deer in the yard and the family of eagles nearby were great to watch.

A terrific house and property! The house is completely remodeled with everything you'd need outside of beach towels. A great location and perfect for our family. We would definitely come back.

Beautiful cabin and location
Our family really enjoyed the location and cabin! Perfect for family with fire pit and swingset. The pier/dock was great. Definitely outboard or jet skis only given depth, but well outfitted with protection for boats. Eagles, sunsets, a lot of fun.

Just what we were looking for in St. Germain.
Our family spends 1 week together each year which we call the Gift of Time Week. Each year, we set out to find that perfect place for our family. This home on Big St. Germain lake was so very close to perfect! It was very clean (didn't find any spider webs in the house!) and the kitchen was very well stocked with quality utensils pans, plates, glasses, etc. We often find that other renters have spared their dollars on this stuff and it was great to find these items available to us. The yard was terrific, with lots of space and the screen porch was a great hideaway for those rainy days. The dock for our pontoon rental was great...just a little difficult to park on those strong westerly windy days. The only fallback of this property was the waterfront. From the pictures, we thought there was somewhat of a beach for our granddaughter to play on, but there is no beach. The water does have a shallow sand bottom, but with the common west winds, our sand was often covered by what the wind blew in. We did discover a great sand bar by the island to play on, but bring your water shoes, as there are rocks that surround the sand. The driveway has plenty of parking space for our 3 vehicles and our utility trailer. The walk to to the Boat Landing was just the right length for getting us going in the morning.
Fishing was a struggle, but our expectations in early August are low. We marked plenty of fish on the bottom, but getting them to bite was difficult. My daughter did catch her first walleye ever!
St Germain offers everything you need from a nice Sentry grocery store, to the Bait Store, to Cathy's Ice Cream shop. There's a tiki bar across the highway from the Ice Cream shop. We also found a super fun Disc Golf course just 30 minutes away in Sugar Camp - you have to bring your own discs and don't forget to donate. They spend a lot of time grooming the course. My daughter and her husband found a nice bike trail right near the Sentry store.
Our stay was awesome. Thank you to Mike and Lori for taking great care of their property for us!

Serene Lakeside Home
A spacious open-concept home recently remodeled with a well stocked kitchen perfect for home cooked meals. Large windows let in lots of light and provide beautiful views of the lake. The screened in porch is the perfect place to read a book, enjoy a cup of coffee or happy hour! The dock is great for watching sunsets and the resident eagles, and has a ladder for easy swimming access. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect place for our family
We had a great time on our vacation. The home was beautiful and the lake provided hours of entertainment. The dock was really nice but the water was a bit shallow at the end. We were worried it wouldn’t be deep enough for our boat but it was fine. We accidentally locked ourselves out of the house assuming the key opened all doors. Mike was very understanding and quick to help us out. Would highly recommend this property.

Nice place to stay
Pros: very clean and well kept rental, had all the necessities for daily use within, screen porch, central air!!!, decent beds, gorgeous window views, very nice updated bathrooms, beautiful property, accomodating owners
Cons: did not have a table on screened porch or picnic table in yard to eat at with family in the outdoors, the kids were not able to enjoy the sandy bottom by the dock as the entire area was covered in thick debris that washed in even including pieces of garbage, no curtains or blinds on big west facing windows to get a break from the blinding late day sun.

Kid Friendly and Clean
This location is a fantastic place to take a family with small kids for a week long trip. The property is beautiful with a flat, wooded, and nicely maintained lot. The west winds were comfortable and there were very few mosquitos. The water is shallow and relatively sandy which is great for the young ones to swim. They can go almost a hundred yards from shore and only be in three feet of water. We also did not realize what a lifesaver the swing set would be. The kids used it daily.
On top of this, the house is extremely clean. I am a stickler for clean floors and bathrooms and this house had both.
The only thing that badly needs upgrading is the dining set. Family dinners are a big part of our northwoods experience, and the chairs (as referenced in other reviews) are very uncomfortable.

This is a beautiful home and property. The owners have thought of everything that guests would need to be comfortable. They responded quickly to questions and were great to work with. We can’t wait to return.

Beauty and tranquility
The photos absolutely capture the beauty and tranquility of this place. The home was clean and ready for our use. We brought up our bikes, so enjoyed biking around the lake - and connecting up with one of the local paved (protected lane) bike trails. We rented kayaks in Sayner and spent a couple afternoons paddling around Big St. Germain Lake. Favorite moments were watching wildlife from the picture window, hiking at nearby Star Lake, checking out shops in St. Germain and nearby Eagle River, cooking dinner together, reading on the pier, watch the sun set from the pier, building a fire at the water's edge and visiting....It's been hard to be back in the concrete jungle of urban Illinois, but trying to hang on to the glow! Thank you for generously sharing your home.

We had a great time as always!!
Even though we had 2 cold rainy days we had a good time. Very windy again but we managed.

The cottage was nice but the online pictures look better than it is.
Most comfortable bed I have slept in away from home. However, the dining room chairs were not very comfortable and some of the furniture in living room was quite faded. Lake and screen porch were lovely.

Fantastic view of lake
We enjoyed our stay very much. The dock was great for our boat and we also rented a pontoon boat. Both were easily docked there. The ramp to put our boat in was just a short distance and easy to access. The house was well equipped and even though we planned to eat out some during our week there the kitchen had all we needed and so we stayed at the house more than expected. Our grandkids 10 and 12 enjoyed fishing and wading around by the dock. It is shallow and has a nice sandy bottom. We enjoyed a camp fire and cooking hot dogs. The screened porch with the hammock was nice for relaxing and reading. We enjoyed the area. Very convient for go carting and horse back riding. We also took in the lumberjack show that we had taken our daughter to about 27 years ago. Our grandkids enjoyed that also. We had good cell phone reception and internet. I know most people say “your not there for that” but at night it was nice to have. One day it rained all day and we played board games but I admit at almost 60 I enjoy tv and internet. I really think it has something for the whole family. I hope we are able to visit again next year.

Beautiful!
This home is in such a beautiful spot. The home is fully stocked with everything that you could need. Such a quiet and beautiful area. We saw deer gracefully walking through the yard every morning, as well as eagles sitting in the trees of the yard. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you.
We would rent this home again.
