Our family spent 6 days in this nicely appointed mountain retreat. Frank (the owner) met us at the property the day we checked in to go through some points about the property. He was friendly & warm sharing the information about this rental. The rental was clean and nicely decorated and comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the screen enclosed 2nd floor deck with its two “hanging beds” which allowed us to really appreciate the mountain (and its wildlife- we spotted bears 2 times- moving away from the house) and its beauty.
The hot tub was also a great option to enjoy the beauty of this rental. My daughters and I even used the outdoor pool table located on the bottom floor of the rental.
Asheville and Biltmore are located within a 15-20 minute drive.Frank left us a detailed record of various places to eat and visit during our stay.
Frank was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had and genuinely wanted our stay to be relaxing and enjoyable. All in all we all had a very enjoyable stay in Asheville and would consider returning to see more in the future.

I'm going to sound like all the other fantastic reviews for this property--the house is amazing, location is perfect (there are grocery stores and some cool eateries very nearby), and access to Asheville and outdoor fun is a cinch! We were only here for a 3-night stay, but my family is already wanting to return. A gem!

The Huntley was the perfect "tree house" vacation. Great location. Beautiful home. Enjoyed the mountains while in the hot tub. Gorgeous waterfall for morning coffee. Frank, the host, was awesome. Gave great local recommendations. We did them all including horseback riding. Easy check-in. Fresh eggs in the fridge made breakfast by the waterfall awesome. Highly recommend Frank and Fairview. We would absolutely stay again.

Five friends spent 3 nights at Huntley Cabin to explore Asheville. The Huntley Cabin is a great place.., it is well appointed and comfortable. Sleeping on the swinging beds on the screened in porch was like glamping. Frank, the host, was terrific and responsive. We loved the fresh eggs, all the birds, the hot tub, and the bobcat that walked by on its morning hunt.

We had a wonderful stay at this home outside of Asheville. The home is beautiful and well appointed and the setting can not be beat. It was easy to get in to downtown Asheville, The Biltmore Estate and other local sites. We enjoyed the farm fresh eggs provided by the owner and loved ending our evenings soaking in the hot tub on the porch. Frank was a pleasure to communicate with and gave us good recommendations for nearby Amish baked goods at Troyers and Brews/snacks from Whistle Hop nearby. We also had delicous meals at Curate in Asheville and at Corner Kitchen at Biltmore Village.

We had the best time! Mr. Dixon gave us a warm welcome with fresh eggs from his chickens, a packet FULL on info and ideas on places to go, eat, and things to do. The house was GORGEOUS! Better than the pictures. We all enjoyed the hot tub, playing pool, building fires, and s’mores. We plan on returning, and when we do, we will be renting from the Dixon family!

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing time. Nice and quiet, but still close to a ton of things to do. Frank was a wonderful host. My daughter loved seeing the farm and koi ponds. We would definitely return.

Perfect location. Close to town but away from it all. Frank was a gracious host. His hobby farm is a nice retreat.

Situated in the forest surrounded by trees, mountain views, and has its own mini waterfall. Loved the fireplaces, outdoor pool table, and two beds 'outside' in screened patio. I slept every night in the mountain air and it was fantastic. Owner friendly and available -- brought us free farm eggs and more firewood (for a fee); accepted delivery of wine and brought to the house for us. I would definitely recommend.

Three friends on an annual Christmas trip. Nice large common area and very well furnished kitchen. Fresh eggs in refrigerator when we arrived. Unfortunately, never had time to enjoy hot tub and would love to come back spring/summer and enjoy outside swinging beds!

Mr.Frank is such a nice man, he was very pleasant to speak to and very helpful. The property is amazing and in a beautiful location. Clean and cozy. I want to bring my wife and daughter next time and explore some of the rest of his property.

Loved the property and the privacy. Had everything one would need for a nice relaxing mountain escape. Frank was an excellent host and I definitely plan to visit again!

I asked everyone for their favorite part of the stay and I got so many different answers: the swing beds were perfect for afternoon naps, the waterfall was a great morning coffee spot, the outdoor fireplace and pool table for hanging out, the hot tub for recovering from the day’s adventures and the farm was the clear winner. The owners were very accommodating and we were delighted they shared this labor of love with us.

Frank's house is one of the best VRBOs we have stayed in and Frank is a wonderful host! Tucked away on a mountain culdesac - incredibly private and quiet. House is much more spacious than it appears online - plenty of space to spread out and enjoy! Kitchen is very well furnished with everything a family might need and everything was clean and in good working order. My boys (9, 12, 14) loved the swinging porch beds and used them every night. Highlights also included the fireplaces and pool table. Our primary focus of the trip was mountain biking so the activities at the house (including hot tub) were great for relaxing after a day on the trails. The location is wonderful - secluded, yet very accessible to many great hikes, MTB trails/parks, restaurants, and attractions. Frank's local recommendations were also spot on! We would not hesitate to return to this property. It probably goes without saying from the pictures, but there are a number of stairs at the house if someone has mobility challenges - the entry is on the lower level with main living space (including kitchen) up one flight of stairs.

Such a gorgeous property with an amazing view. Honestly even better than the pictures. We had everything we needed for our stay. Host responded quickly to a minor issue. The farm fresh eggs are such a nice touch. Fairview was such a cute town, close to Ashville and plenty of nature, hiking, etc. We plan to come back in the future. :)

What a beautiful cabin! It was secluded, very comfortable, well stocked with fireplaces indoors and outdoors, screened porch at the back and small unscreened porch at the front next to a small waterfall! The posted photos are accurate. Frank was very helpful- a superb host! We have absolutely no negatives about this place and would love to visit again in summer.

Frank was a pleasure to interact with and the property is set in a very picturesque and peaceful location. Close enough for visits to downtown Asheville and all it has to offer but set far enough away to feel like a real getaway. We took full advantage of the amenities like the hot tub and the swinging loungers on the enclosed porch. The farm fresh eggs were a very nice touch and delicious!

My wife and I had a great weekend getaway here, there was much to visit and see in the area, however there was many a time we simply wanted to stay in because we enjoyed being there so much. Frank the owner was great, friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell right away that he truly cares about how your trip will be, and is a genuinely great person. The local resturants right down the road were fantastic and Frank's recommendations were spot on. We will definitely be coming back to the area again with and without our children, and will be utilizing Frank when we do.

The host is very accommodating and pleasent to communicate with. The location is awesome and views are outstanding! There is a lot of room inside and many, many beds. The host provides eggs, wood, and charcoal for fireplaces and grill. The hot tub was amazing. Book this place...you won't be disappointed.

My family and I loved our stay at this property. It was very well equipped with kitchen supplies, towels, bathrobes, entertainment, etc. We had plenty of room for a family of 5. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Asheville as it was a short, 15 minute drive to downtown and an easy drive over to hiking and rock climbing over at Chimney Rock.

Our family had a great experience staying at the Huntley. The house is high quality and clean with the extra features that help you enjoy your vacation: screened porch surrounded by lovely trees, an indoor and outdoor fireplace, a hot tub, and a main floor deck that overlooks a charming waterfall. Frank, the host, was welcoming and helpful. Our grandkids enjoyed the hobby farm and exploring the added water feature landscaping. The house was close to everything in the area. The driveway is steep, but I'd guess this is something you'd find in many properties in a mountain setting. We'd love to stay here again in the future.

It was our first time to Asheville and The Huntley provided the perfect location—close to the city but away from it all. Plenty of space for our two families, including four teens. We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, family board games and even completed a puzzle. A bear cub also enjoyed splashing around at the base of the waterfall, just off the deck. That created a lot of excitement! We had everything we needed and more. Appreciated the lovely bathrobes, the fresh eggs and waffle iron. The two guys who slept on the porch gave the swinging beds terrific reviews. Highly recommend the Huntley!

Spent several relaxing days enjoying the mountains and getting away from the heat at the coast. The home was perfect; beautifully built, amazing forest scenery all around. The local town and stores are very close so getting back and grabbing great meals or entertainment was a breeze. Amazing hiking within short car rides. We will definitely come back in the near future. Wonderful retreat.

Our stay at the Huntley was so wonderful. This gem was nestled in the trees and was so peaceful, but was still close to anything we needed! Our family enjoyed our stay and we will be back if ever in the area again! My kids especially loved the swinging porch beds, and the bear sighting 😊
